Some claim that light voices can not give the role of Gilda the dramatic tone it needs and that it truly belongs to a dramatic coloratura soprano. In this awesome recording, which unfortunately was never released in CDs, Gruberova proves how a coloratura soprano can interpret the role with absolute perfection. The force, the emotion and the lyricism is absolutely unbeatable to any other recording i have heard.
