Great video , but be aware the abrasion of dragging the cover on the coping as shown here will shorten the life. Also having had many covers over the years , a single layer connected to the strap can rip out on large covers. I recommend a fold and going through 2 layers .

Hi check this out, courtesy of Rocky's Reels: rockys.ca/installation-rockys-reel-systems/oval-shaped-pools/ "Place your reel at the widest point of the pool where the corners stop curving. This will allow you to roll up the bulk of the cover without having to run long, varying lengths of strapping from the cover to the tube. Hang your straps straight down from the reel and attach them by folding the cover and putting the grommets through the fold and strap (pictured below). The smaller section of cover will roll up at the same time as the bulk of the cover and float back into place when you put the cover back on your pool."

How do I put the white clips on a pool cover if I have to double it for a kidney shaped and they won't go through

How thick is the cover? These clips can handle doubliing over up to 12 mil thick.
