Looked like no mans land, he was just staring off into the abyss ("what could of been..." I told my friends). It was just so odd to see a formally-dressed ex-leader of the opposition sitting alone at an all girls swimming carnival. Maybe he even had been nibbling on some sweets, I don't remember exactly. Ok so this 100% explains what happened at my school. All girls Catholic high school, his daughter was the year below me, would of been Year 10-11, back in late 2000s. So we went to Challenge Stadium for the swimming carnival and he's just sat there, alone, in a huge stadium full of young (obvs half-dressed) girls, just sitting there, no wife, barely interacted with his daughter. I'm reassured to learn this wasn't vaguely creepy behaviour, just being incredibly socially awkward. EDIT: and there were no other parents, he was the only one!
