Just to clarify, the shaped Gingerbread isn´t meant to be eaten it is just decoration so it is baked until quite dry. Gingerbread( Lebkuchen) for eating is usually round and either covered by a sugar mixture, chocolate or just plain
Some of these are almost always eaten or drunk with another item, not consumed by itself so it would have been more fair judgement if they had the accecory food item as well
As a Dutch person I should probably set the record straight by saying that advocaat is not meant to drunk but rather eaten as a kind of condiment for on top of desserts. What they did here would be the same as trying the chug some Ketchup/tomato sauce
it's a shame how many people misunderstand advocaat and thus think it's a weird disgusting drink when it's just a really great addition to nice deserts DX

As a German I have to say a ginger bread man ain't that traditional. Gingerbread itself, yes, but the way they described it shouldn't be how it's supposed to be. Even then, there are way better savory and sweet Christmas foods and snacks. Also Stollen isn't supposed to be dry nor cut this thick...at least Joey knew his Stollen. The cookies were just cheap soft gingerbread hearts. Should've let Connor eat some Reibekuchen, or have some Dampfnudel, I could name so many good things. Habe been to Japan recently and they love Baumkuchen, as well, should've gotten some of that, too.
As a swede I can't help but feel incredibly offended that you got your swedish mulled wine from IKEA. I know it's hard to come by some better swedush stuff but come oooon, that's just mass-produced garbage and is by no means indicative of some of our genuinely great mulled wine breweries.
As a German who takes the big selection of sweets you can buy here in the supermarket and bakery stores for granted, I'm always getting surprised whenever I become aware how many of them are originally from German when people from outside talk about it and crave for it, especially on Christmas. Try out some Dominosteine next time if you have the opportunity. And maybe a softer Stollen too, because that's what their regular texture should be from my experience. Oh and if you loved the mulled wine and also have a soft spot for Berliner pancakes/donuts too, maybe give the ones with the mulled wine jam inside a try! Yo guys, there was a big confusion for me and probably a lot of other Germans watching this, with the gingerbread. I have looked into it for a while and understand it now, so let me quickly explain the confusion before clearing it up. So, I was confused when you ate the gingerbread man and described it's taste, first I thought it just was a shit representation but later you ate gingerbread hearts and they looked like the gingerbread I know and you described the correct taste this time, but both were obviously quite different. First, I looked up the translation to see if that was the fault, but gingerbread actually translates to several things in German, most important for our case "Lebkuchen" and "Pfefferkuchen". So, I learned the gingerbread man you ate was a "Pfefferkuchen", the hearts were "Lebkuchen" and what I usually would call gingerbread. So I looked it up, Pfefferkuchen (directly translates to pepper cake) was a Saxon original dish which apparently was exclusively produced in Pulsnitz, a city which got a medieval right of exclusive production (obviously doesn't count anymore today) and the Pfeffer (pepper) in the name just comes from the fact that in medieval times Pfeffer referred to any foreign spice, so there is no actual pepper in it (which you guys probably tasted^^). The Lebkuchen heart you ate afterwards is as I said what I would usually understand as gingerbread but is basically just a regionally different dish which gained popularity and distribution after the Second World War, it's name is derived from latin and basically translates to "cake cake", so the moon moon of sweets. The only official material difference is that Pfefferkuchen is exclusively made without fat/grease, which is what you usually would ad to Lebkuchen, which also explains the taste difference of both. Hope you guys read this and weren't bored. Hope some other Germans had the same confusion watching this and are now a little wiser^^. Happy holidays.
Gingerbread men are American. We don't have them in Germany XD We do build little gingergread witch houses (Lebkuchenhaus) based on the fairytale of Hänsel & Gretel in the Christmas season, but hardly anyone eats them. We do have Lebkuchen, which technically translates to gingerbread, but is very different from American gingerbread. German Lebkuchen is round, not dry at all and covered either with sugar or chocolate glazing. Stollen would be a typical German christmas cake (personally, I don't like it). Other typical cookies would be Zimtsterne (cinnamon stars) or Vanille Kipferl (vanilla crescents). On 24th Dec - when Gremans have their main Christmas day - most people have something simple like potato salad and viennese sausages, cause usually moms are too stressed out that day to bother with a big meal, especially cause many people go to attend Christmas Mass too. On 25th you have a more elaborate meal (goose, carp, roast or something similar)
As a dutch person lemme explain the "egg nog". Its not a drink😅 its like a custard / yogurt so you eat it with a spoon. You add whipped cream to make it more sweet so that will make it way better. Also it's SUPER old-school. This is what you would get at your grandparents house😅 It is also not a Christmas thing you can eat it year round

Shaped as stars hearts and pretzels so the common name here is just that )
having germany compete with a single dry as* gingerbreadman, I am actually offended. What about Baumkuchen? Or the like 10k other variants of Gingerbread? :'D
Dude, it’s so annoying that most of the food they are trying is nowhere near authentic and that’s why it obviously tastes shit 💔 stollen is usually super soft with lots of powdered sugar, Lebkuchen is not supposed to be eaten that way (cause it is mainly only for decoration) and eggnog is NOT a drink but a sauce. Production team, please do your research before doing this 😵💫
Hi, Italian passing by, that is like… I don’t know what panettone you found.. that is not it sorry. It’s small and mostly without candied fruits. It is fruity and soft and better than briosche bread. So sad guys…
tbh gingerbread men arent as common in germany as you think. lebkuchen (the "cookie" towards the end) is the most popular xmas treat which is similar enough to gingerbread, more like a cookie rather than a biscuit
Dutch egg liquor is NOT the same as “egg nog”. There is a lot of egg in the advocaat and alcohol like a brandy, vs the egg nog being more dairy and non alco. They are two different things just happen to have the egg in common. Advocaat is delicious indeed in shot glasses with some sweets. But not a swap for egg nog (assuming British and American egg nog are similar). Verpoorten Advocaat is my most favorite winter drink. American egg nog is just wussy weak ass milk product by comparison. To use the production rules for food then I must judge Japanese food by Texas gas station sushi. Panne Tonne has bits of fruit in it. panne d’ore is without the bits. But both Should have been covered in powdered sugar. Both are great when fresh and the proper size (it’s not bread, it’s cake like the stollen is cake) is 5 times as large. The tamale is Christmas? It’s. Standard everyday food item. So Mexico has zero actual Christmas foods? Really? That’s like Italy entering “lasagna” as their entry.
Thanks to this vid I took a detour to the local grocery store and thankfully the tamale lady was there in the parking lot. Now I'm enjoying a great dinner of pork tamales and pure corn tamales
The best part about Garnt mispronouncing "RPG" in the Crunchyroll add-read is the fact that this isn't even the first time he did it. He messed up the exact same way in their TRPG stream xD
For the game streams next year I hope the gamemaster steps up their game (no pun intended). Either they assert their rules more, or keep the rules simpler (maybe even both). Also some banter and comments with/from the staff/gamemaster/cameraperson adds a lot of personality to the streams. I feel like that's been lacking quite a bit from the most recent ones. Unless of course if some company rules prohibits that or something Nevertheless I still look forward to the streams! And happy holidays to everyone

Really? That’s like Italy entering “lasagna” as their entry.
is it me or at times it looks ike they're deepfaked into the background?
Thanks to this vid I took a detour to the local grocery store and thankfully the tamale lady was there in the parking lot. Now I'm enjoying a great dinner of pork tamales and pure corn tamales
Am I too european to understand their lack of knowledge and disgust towards advokat?
Connor called it... Twitter is now X
Can't believe he called the death of Twitter
(Actually yes I can)

The best part about Garnt mispronouncing "RPG" in the Crunchyroll add-read is the fact that this isn't even the first time he did it. He messed up the exact same way in their TRPG stream xD
I love how Joey didm't want to get the tamales wrong, but they still weren't from Mexico.
Yeah they are, the banana leaf ones from Oaxaca. But also Colombia has them
Too
I wish KFC was open on Christmas in America. I usually order Chinese food on Christmas because it's the only thing open.

Unless of course if some company rules prohibits that or something
Nevertheless I still look forward to the streams! And happy holidays to everyone
3:22:21 In sweden we call it glögg we usually drink it with either ginger bread or saffron buns which might be why its sweeter
I hope everyone has a happy holiday!!!
I'm just a former gift wrapper just trying my best to not criticize to much
