I love visiting the Amish country of Ohio it is so hilly and beautiful. This recipe for bacon & sausage gravy and biscuits is the very best. So easy and so yummy.
Enjoyed your video so much...I have 3 younger sisters and one is named Norma too. I never really got the chance to cook with my sisters since I lived with our mother even after I got married and she cooked for us and the whole family. My hubbie and I, after 7 years married, then moved out of state. Your video made me miss the family gatherings. My husband always told people we would have parties every weekend. I would get mad because it was just my younger siblings (7 of them) and their families coming over to eat at mom`s house. I'm Latina and you cook like my mom, my hubbie is a good Ole white boy who loved to cook for my family on the weekends to give mom a break. He introduced my family to deep fried turkey and "smooked" meats. Not a Friday went by that my siblings would not call me at work asking if my hubbie was cooking that weekend. Ive been away for some time now but watching your program helps me relieve my days living at home with my mom. Ps...I dont sew but like you, I made aprons for my mom and now me...and I also do curtains too.

We are back home and I didnt get to video any more, but the little house had a narrow winding staircase with the cutest porch, it has been modernized some but still has it's beautiful character. Rachel, I live in Mexico City. As much as I like Mexican food, I am from Cincinnati Ohio. I miss American food. I can cook most things, but some things you either can't find or it's really expensive. I have never seen a package of ground sausage. I have never been able to find canned biscuits. I have never seen buttermilk. This breakfast is making my mouth water!!

The biscuits and gravy are the 5th and 6th recipes I’ve made of yours thus far. The biscuits were delicious. The gravy was good…however my roommate and I both agreed the gravy would be better suited for supper; maybe for country fried steak, but not for breakfast - just personal preference. Otherwise all 6 recipes I’ve made of yours in the past week have turned out perfect!, will continue to try more. Your type of cooking matches mine, probably why the recipes agree with me! I tried that lily white flour and I think I liked preferred King author's flour. I give lily white flour another try.
I have never added onions to my gravey before. Kind of scared to try that. But I trust your cooking so I will try it.
