    I really like that. I think I'm going to experiment with doing that without flattening those edges quite so much first, so I could add it to my "decorative tool handle" repertoire.

    thank you very much for showing this. I think the initial fullering would go a good bit faster if you used a smaller radius for the first pass.

    • @KarlMetalworks
      @KarlMetalworks  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you. It means making a new set of fullers, witch is a lot of work. But I want to make these fullers for my hydraulic forging press, it should be one heat deal then.

  • @Robert-xp4ii
    @Robert-xp4ii 4 года назад +3

    "Isolate the heat using septic tank water."
    I can't think of how I'd utilize that twist but it looks cool. 👍

    Nice work btw. Could you put a spring on your tool to keep it from bouncing off the square stock? I'm going to try this with a piece of square wire of sterling silver.

    • @KarlMetalworks
      @KarlMetalworks  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks. The spring should help. But next time Im gonna make tools for my forging press. So this tool will be retired anyway.

    Where do you suggest getting a belt sander for someone starting so I can polish the edges of what I will be making? Are the sander/grinder combo tools worth it to get? I'm on a small budget right now simply to see how into metalsmithing I get but I anticipate once I move I'll be looking to build a forging shed.
