This is really a great blacksmith channel, I gave this horn method a try and made a goat skull keychain. Not nearly as clean and with a few more heats than you needed but the horns look great! 😄
That's pretty awesome. I'm fairly new at blacksmithing, but rams heads and demon heads and the like are some of my favorite ornamentation. I had the idea at one point of making the head big enough that you could use the mouth as a bottle opener, but I don't know if that's feasible or not.

There are plenty of dragon head / demon head bottle openers.

Any kind of oil would do.
Make sure the steel is hot so it burns into the steel.
