Written by a 25 year old Willie Nelson in 1958 & recorded by Patsy in 1961!!! Patsy is one of the greatest female vocalists of the 20th century!

Willie Nelson wrote this classic song and Patsy made a monster hit out of it. I saw Willie do it live and can say both are great versions.

I’ve loved this song for as long as I remember. It was a classic when I was a kid and still is. Patsy’s voice is so unique and beautiful, and the melody and lyrics are amazing… how can anyone not love this 😊
May I suggest a cover of this song, by Home Free. Home Free is an a cappella group formed in Minnesota in 2000, they won The Sing Off in 2013 and are seriously skilled and talented artists. Five guys with voices like angels and one of them is a beatboxer so freakishly good you’ll never miss actual drums

Patsy Cline felt every song she ever sang. You can hear the cry in her voice. "Sweet dreams" has it. Also, she cried while recording "Faded Love." By the end of that song Patsy will break your heart. Don't know how she made it through that song. Really, any song by Patsy is great! After 60 years, Patsy is still the singer female singers are compared to. There will NEVER be another Patsy Cline. Also, Patsy was best friends with another Country Legend, Loretta Lynn.

My favorite song of Patsy's is Walking After Midnight. Also, try Sweet Dreams, which was also the title of her 1985 biopic starring Jessica Lange. The record was released after Patsy's tragic death and was a crossover hit. So many stars lost in plane crashes.

I was a 10 yr old boy. Everyone on the farm and neighbor farms were in tears. 1963, I watched her on TV and heard on radio on top of the fridge in the kitchen with parents. I didn't know what was going on. Then they said Patsy was dead.

My all time favorite female singer, such a soulful, smooth, & melodic voice like no other. She was the original Queen of Country & one of the first big female stars in that genre. Before Patsy came along, country music was predominately made up of male performers. She broke down the barriers & forged a path for all female country singers to follow. She helped & befriended Loretta Lynn, when she got her first start in the business. They were best friends & after Patsy tragically died in a plane crash, Loretta honored her friend by naming one of her twin girls Patsy a year after the accident. The other twin was named after Loretta's sister, Peggy. Patsy died in 1963 at the young age of only 30 yrs old. That was 4 years before I was born, but my dad was a big fan so I heard her music while growing up. Crazy was one of her biggest hits but she had many others. A few of my top favorites are - I fall to pieces, Walkin' after midnight, She's got you, Tennessee waltz, & Your cheatin' heart. Please check out more of her classic songs, you won't be disappointed. They made a film in 1985 about her life called "Sweet Dreams" starring Jessica Lange as Patsy - great movie & definitely worth a watch! Side note - in the performance footage, Patsy is wearing that head band to cover up a big scar she sustained from a car accident shortly before she appeared on that TV program.

Patsy Cline (born Virginia Patterson Hensley; September 8, 1932 - March 5, 1963) was an American singer. She is considered one of the most influential vocalists of the 20th century and was one of the first country music artists to cross over into pop music. "Crazy"...It was written by Willie Nelson, whose version of the song was first heard by recording producers and they brought the song to Cline she did not like it. When they encouraged her to record "Crazy", Cline replied, "I don't care what you say. I don't like it and I ain't gonna record it. And that's that." Record producers liked the song and set the date for its recording for August 17. When Cline got to the studio, they convinced her to record it. She listened to Nelson's version of "Crazy" and decided she was going to perform it differently. Nelson's version included a spoken section that Cline removed. The rest is music Legendary history
