I think the kids grew up and moved out, just left their rooms as they grew out of them. At the beginning you said they grew up and the wife had a heart attack.
Nice exploring. This just goes to show, no matter how much stuff you own, properties you collect, toys you have when you're old and bereft of love, none of it matters. You go out with what you came in: nothing.
I can’t understand why the kids never helped their dad properly move out, clean the place and either keep it up or sell it at the time he left. What a shame. Great video.
Absolutely right, kids never know and never respect how much parents spend for kids and for their future, after grew up kids sees all as garbage or as parents must do this...but kids stay selfish. Parents always loose...
They were all grads of Harvard (him and his kids) and owned multiple properties. When you have that much money and success, one property out of 10 is peanuts to ppl like that. Plus he said they took care of him after he moved out. So you want them to work their own jobs, take care of their own homes, their father AND maintain this home, when they are probably millionaires!? lol weird how strangers are so judging when they have no idea what the circumstances are or what the mans wishes were
@@amandasullivan1121That's a lame and lazy excuse. Not to mention wasteful. You ask if we want them to work their own jobs, take care of their own homes, their father, and maintain his home? Millions of people have jobs and take care of their house and family (including their elderly parents) all at the same time, so... yeah. And if they are so rich, then they can hire companies to come out and clean out the home, auction or donate the things and sell the house for them. They can also hire live-in maids and nurses to help while taking care of him. Calm down.
I think the pink room is set up almost like a shrine for the lady of house who suddenly passed away from a heart attack. The flowers on the pillow on the bed seem to indicate that. The guest house is probably more interesting to see. I'd have to try to walk that bridge and go out there if I ever explored the property.
that is what I was thinking too, with the flowers on the bed, I wonder if that was the lady of the house's bedroom. Sad though but I am glad no one has vandalized it.

Hi from TN. I love how the house is built around a courtyard. I like that concept. There could be more windows in those hallways though. So dark and dreary. Would love to see that guest house on the island.
The style of this house is from the later years of the Art Deco era. There are my style cues you noticed. Curved walls, glass ceilings. The type of fireplaces with the sweeping lines and artistic tile work on those mantles. The flow and design of the rooms was the contemporary feel that started to emerge in the late 40's early 50's that mid century houses had. The paneling on the walls were common in well to do homes during this time. It was a sign of luxury to have exotic panels throughout a home. The 70's was more or less a copy of a by gone era that was a cheap copy of something of opulence. There were some updates that were out of place with its original time but very minimally. What a time capsule indeed, too bad its in such bad repair.
It is so sad that the kids didn't take the pictures that are in frames. I cannot imagine leaving behind pictures, and albums. You would think someone would come and at least rescue those items. Thank you for a very interesting explore.

Im so looking forward to this premier. I live in Shawnee ok. We were hit by a tornado April 19th. I had to miss last Saturday. 😢 I had no power and no internet. Today. I have no roof. So i have no power. I do have a charge on this phone and spotty internet. I'm giving it a go! Hope your well BB
I enjoyed seeing the architecture of this house. Part of it was originally in an Art Deco style, 1930s-1940s, but with all the later additions it's hard to tell what was original and what was added. Hope someone saves it. Thanks for sharing.
I started to appreciate your work ...it because of how well you captured the entire idea WITH GREAT DETAIL in the narration, thoughts, and some sense of Architecture and video quality, BRO YOU ARE AWESOME. Some channels focus more on things and artifacts than on the location, the house or meaning of anything else.
Love the architecture of this home. Love the mini tv in the kitchen, shame the 4 children just left it like this they could have sold it to pay for there fathers care and could have taken personal items with them. I did see 2006 date on a tv guide
Glad to see you “back out there” BB. @21:30 I loved those tiny jams when I was a kid, haven’t seen them in years. @23:30 flashback 80s dining chairs. I love the ski boat!!
I know of a lady who was in her 40s who was simply stung by a bee, ended up in a coma and died within a couple weeks. Live can and does change in an instance don't take your blessings for granted when you can.
Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⛵ my favorite part was the guest house on the island we didn't get to see. Actually that untouched bedroom was quite something. The entire house would be amazing with a restoration. Thanks for bringing us along and be safe out there 👍✌️🇺🇲
23:42 the green typewriter looking machine is a Braille typewriter which foretells that a blind person lived there. Also, the narrow hall and curved counter in the kitchen would make more sense why designed that way.
i used to go through abandoned houses back in my hometown area. It was so fun and interesting to see what was left behind and guess why certain things were left. These videos are all so intriguing, I can't help but watch every second to see what has been left.
If you ever want to do more exploring in VA, let me know we have an extra bed and my husband makes amazing biscuits and gravy. Glad your back exploring. Love what you do!
Watching from Canberra, Australia. Great video! Love the bedroom that was still in original condition. A shame the rest of the house couldn’t have been left too, but so lucky to get a glimpse into how it would have been styled. Such a cool house! Never seen anything like it! Thanks for the video! :)
Wow! You wouldn’t believe how much I needed the random yet very specific advice (for myself) within the bible verse at 1:10! Ive been watching videos on exploring abandoned houses, as I often do whenever I’m not in the best mood. Idk why I find them entertaining and comforting somehow. I was still having a lot of trouble getting my mind to shut off and was intensely thinking about and remembering a situation from the past which was getting me justifiably angry, but to a point where it wasn’t healthy and I was only feeding a very negative mindset. Normally I don’t let myself ruminate to that degree! So the reminder to essentially “let go and let God…” was exactly what I needed to hear! And as is always the way with God, perfect timing! So I just wanted to let you know I appreciated that you added that random and extremely helpful verse and I’ll certainly subscribe and continue to watch your channel. Thank you!
He needs to start showing pictures and letter and stuff with dates on it. So we can get a bigger picture of the people. That stuff is the important stuff. Canned food, sofas, and the other stuff don’t mean as much. He even had a newspaper on the ladies bed and just went right by it. That newspaper might have had a story giving us more info about her. And to not try to go to the island??? Huge lost opportunity
This is so well documented, and leaves you wondering why this mansion wasnt sold, rather than left to vandals and for nature to take over. Your empathy is evident, as is your compassion. Thank you. Is this filmed in Canada or the U.S. ?
Hi! Watching from Rhode Island! I love love this house! No idea how they can just abandon it, I especially like the guest house on the island...such a beautiful home just left to rot...awesome explore ❤❤❤ and hope you're feeling better!
Watching from southern Ohio. I loved this video…can imagine what the place looked like back in its prime! Wished you could have shown the guesthouse…would love to see that! Glad to see you back exploring these fascinating places. Take care of yourself.
In a way it’s a sad story, but wouldn’t it be wonderful if the house was sold, kept up, and a new family was making memories there. Thanks for the tour.
Very interesting. I was thinking maybe the kids stuff was grandkids since you said he was older living with his kids. Would have loved to see this place in its prime.
Great to see you again. I'm watching from Ireland. I always enjoy your videos. Strange the way these homes are just abandoned? Why don't they sell them before all the decay happens? So sad. Bet it was beautiful when the family lived here. I hope this family are happy wherever they have moved on to.
I have a hard time understanding why anyone would want to leave a home and all belongings to rot and be vandalized. Makes me sad to see all the items ruined and the house in such disrepair.
It's so great to have a history behind a lost place even though it's a sad one. The house is so cool actually, the vintage vibe, round corners, the courtyard, the workshop, I'd like it a lot. Despite the history I'm surprised that the property was not maintained anymore, especially as the owners are wealthy and said to own several properties anyway. In the mancave-like room it's quite obvious that something, maybe a painting or framed photograph, must have been placed on the right-hand couch until not long ago. There weren't many dates unfortunately; however in one of the bedrooms there's a Big E flyer from 2006 and I don't think that a stranger brought that there. BTW on top of that is a photo of one of the daughters I'd guess. The boy's bedroom is a bit of a puzzle, why was it left like an about-ten-year-old's bedroom? You say they were four kids who all went to Harvard and therefore I'd guess they also went to upper class high schools that may have been boarding schools. But wouldn't they have come home on the occasional weekend, even when studying? This property will be located somewhere in New England, not on the other end of the continent from Harvard. I totally agree that the pink bedroom was set up as a shrine for the wife and I bet that all those items had their very special meaning to them. She must have worn that dress in a very special memorable moment, had a drink from that glass at a very special occasion etc. Most likely she was even featured in that newspaper. I would guess that the last thing Robert did before leaving was go to this room to say goodbye forever.
I like the videos here. Fascinating topic. All okay, what I really ask is to get an impression of the floor plan. You guys are going from room to room without me getting an overview of the structure, really. Thank you very much. Keep going 👍🏽. I want to understand how they lived here.
Dude, how are ya? I'm watching this from Tucson,Az. and I can't believe this mansion, it's incredible. My favorite part of this exploration is the room that was virtually untouched and the workshop with the boat. I've been subscribed for quite a while now and this is one the coolest explorations you've done. Keep doing these videos, they're fantastic. We scientists like them too.
I personally did not like the layout of this house. It looked outdated even if they inhabited it in 2006. You did awesome covering it all. My favorite part? The basement was unreal. Like you said it kept going and going…and then the 🚤⚓️. Regarding your personal upset-just consider it another lesson in life learned. It hurts I know but remember we’re going forward not back. I’ll pray for you. We love you!!!
While I do appreciate you and the videos you do and is so sad and depressing to see so many abandoned homes and money discarded like it's nothing. What some people would give to have an ounce of what so many of these owners have/had! Clearly taking what they have been given for granted...
Amazing house!! I can only imagine how beautiful it was when it was built and while the people lived there! Would have been great if you could have gotten out to the guesthouse as I'm sure it's very interesting too. I think maybe those glass window blocks are original to the house, as any homes back in the 40's had them and were rather popular back then also. There is a paper one of the bedrooms that is from about Sept. 2006 that is about some sort of fair coming to the area. Maybe that was the last time someone lived there. I wouldn't know any other reason why it would be in the house, unless people stored things there from elsewhere. Again, thanks for always being respectful of the places you visit. This is a great find and as always a back story is always nice to hear on the houses, so keep the videos coming!
its always so heart breaking to see homes like this. just makes you wonder why things were never cleaned out and taken with them where ever they went. or why the homes never get sold etc. thanks for the vid. watching from England.
It kind of shows you how the quality of places has changed; way back when they built mansions and castles that are 500 yrs old and the places made today last maybe a hundred years at best. Thanks for the tour, Big Bankz. At one time that place was gorgeous no doubt. 😎👍
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I wonder if the father would not let the children go back to the house. If they would’ve gone back and taking things out of the house, and it may have caused him more pain. The one part of the basement where the ball was kind of reminded me of a canning cellar.
You're so right about the highest and the lowest times. My happiest time is when my husband got me a new house and 41 days later he died now I'm in the new house by myself. 0:50
So very sorry same thing happened to my brother he had just got a new house beautiful home and not long after he got sick and passed away my sister in law couldn't continue to stay there she moved in with one of their sons. So sad. God bless
Ya'll definitely should be wearing a mask and gloves and opening the fridge was not a good idea as that can be detrimental to your health inhaling the bacteria inside of it. The beautiful floral bedroom brought tears to my eyes. I would also love to know expiration dates on food items or drinks. Thank you for allowing us to see this beautiful place!
I meant to say this in the last video I watched and just thought of it again…. Disposable Gloves & Masks you should at least have in your backpack if not on !!! 😉
I love those Mid C Modern or ? homes, and the curves on that one flow so well. Can you research who the architect was? I would have no problem living there. That boat was in the waters in the 60's.
Love ur vlogs, ur very respectful and informative, it's a shame that mansions like this and other properties u have shown, that families still own they wouldn't either sell it or preserve these properties, I can tell u what's old is new man, they built stuff to last not like the crap now, all u have to do is just upgrade inside these places, so sad
Did you see that owl in the beginning? That was a Bohemian Grove Owl. I used to live and work near Bohemian Grove in Sonoma County, CA. I have some artifacts including several of their owl symbol items. This man was a perfect type that would have gone to gatherings there, Harvard, and high ranking military who also had some very successful business ventures.
Strange how an house abandoned will degrade so much faster than one that's lived in but completely ignored. Almost as though the home itself feels hopeless and no longer necessary. 😕

the rooms, you appear to be a nice person

Im so looking forward to this premier. I live in Shawnee ok. We were hit by a tornado April 19th. I had to miss last Saturday. 😢 I had no power and no internet. Today. I have no roof. So i have no power. I do have a charge on this phone and spotty internet. I'm giving it a go! Hope your well BB
Sorry to hear that. You are safe though and that's important.
Praying for a speedy restoration for your home situation, Lady Rose. Thankful that you are safe! God bless.
Thanks for taking us along on another exciting journey into the past life of a family.
@23:30 flashback 80s dining chairs.
To me it looks like a ring binder machine
i used to go through abandoned houses back in my hometown area.
Dark explorations films explored the island house! Cool to see what changed from your video to his.
Thank you!
Love the detail and creativity you put into each video!!
Praying for you BB. ❤
Hello BigBanks nice seeing you again…my favorite part about this video was the boat and the bedroom with the baskets take care
They were so smart that they let the house go bad instead of selling or renting the hose, that tells you how smart those people were
This is so well documented, and leaves you wondering why this mansion wasnt sold, rather than left to vandals and for nature to take over. Your empathy is evident, as is your compassion. Thank you.
Is this filmed in Canada or the U.S. ?
Yall are great too...we wanna see the one on the island too yo...ty for sharing...Gby & solid prayers...stay safe.❣️😇👽😁🙏🤍💯
Hi! Watching from Rhode Island! I love love this house! No idea how they can just abandon it, I especially like the guest house on the island...such a beautiful home just left to rot...awesome explore ❤❤❤ and hope you're feeling better!
I absolutely loved this so wanted to see the guest house too. But another great find. Thank you for sharing
Watching from southern Ohio. I loved this video…can imagine what the place looked like back in its prime! Wished you could have shown the guesthouse…would love to see that! Glad to see you back exploring these fascinating places. Take care of yourself.
I was waiting on that guesthouse!!! Would have loved to see it as well. O-H!!!!!
I thought you had said you were gonna not go to the guest house, but you were gonna walk towards there. Omg. That's what I was waiting for.
Great to see you again. I'm watching from Ireland. I always enjoy your videos. Strange the way these homes are just abandoned? Why don't they sell them before all the decay happens? So sad. Bet it was beautiful when the family lived here. I hope this family are happy wherever they have moved on to.
You and your crew respect the area and the peoples memories. Thats a big plus in my book. Good job.
I have a hard time understanding why anyone would want to leave a home and all belongings to rot and be vandalized.
Makes me sad to see all the items ruined and the house in such disrepair.
27:21 I love the PINK PLAID CURTAINS! THAT ROOM IS AWSOME!! I ALSO LOVE THE BEDROOM WITH BOB THE BUILDER!!
The photos are what always gets me. I have zero childhood pictures of me show my son.
I like the videos here. Fascinating topic. All okay, what I really ask is to get an impression of the floor plan. You guys are going from room to room without me getting an overview of the structure, really. Thank you very much. Keep going 👍🏽. I want to understand how they lived here.
Massachusetts girl here! Saw The Big E pamphlet on the tv in the bedroom ☺️ loved this video.
Yay! You're back out! Great explore! Would love to know sort of what part of the country that is. So glad you feel like getting out again.
We love you!!!
it's a tear down
While I do appreciate you and the videos you do and is so sad and depressing to see so many abandoned homes and money discarded like it's nothing. What some people would give to have an ounce of what so many of these owners have/had!
Clearly taking what they have been given for granted...
Watching from S.Dakota. Glad to see you back! God Bless you and keep you safe on your adventures!!
SD here as well! 👋🏻
The kitchen was so interesting to me! And the fridge. "It's not that bad..." then it hit you lol
Awesome house & that bedroom is so well preserved! Love your work!
You were brave to go down the small steps into the basement. Id have an anxiety attack
Very cool old house would love to have seen it in its glory days
You're so right about the highest and the lowest times. My happiest time is when my husband got me a new house and 41 days later he died now I'm in the new house by myself. 0:50
Hug 🤗 So sorry! May he RIP! ❤
So very sorry same thing happened to my brother he had just got a new house beautiful home and not long after he got sick and passed away my sister in law couldn't continue to stay there she moved in with one of their sons. So sad. God bless
I love how you tell the stories of the abandoned houses you've covered tnx keep it up God bless from the Philippines 🇵🇭
This house and everything is like a compound and I'm tuning in from West Virginia that's for sharing stay safe
È stata bellissima questa esplorazione , complimenti ragazzi ❤❤❤
Dimenticavo , vi seguo da milano ❤
I love how you talk about the houses. The details and respect of the contents left behind.
I would be so claustrophobic in a house with those long NARROW hallways!!., couldn't live there!
Wow , it must have been great to live in this house with 4 kids , looks like it was a perfect life .
Sad that it ended ĺike that .
I'm from Buffalo, NY and I love the rooms with the curved glass!
Did you see that owl in the beginning? That was a Bohemian Grove Owl. I used to live and work near Bohemian Grove in Sonoma County, CA. I have some artifacts including several of their owl symbol items. This man was a perfect type that would have gone to gatherings there, Harvard, and high ranking military who also had some very successful business ventures.
witchcraft
Greek mythology
many different meanings in different cultures but basically owl bad omen not protection
That is an owl that is sold to keep mice and other rodents out of gardens.
thank you for posting that bible verse at the beginning of your video. You have no idea how much I needed to see that verse today. Thank you.
God bless you😊
It is not worth millions if no one will buy it. It isn't worth anything.
Strange how an house abandoned will degrade so much faster than one that's lived in but completely ignored. Almost as though the home itself feels hopeless and no longer necessary. 😕
