Im sailing on the Oasis on December 22nd as a solo disabled person. I was so nervous because I usually sail Carnival and was afraid I would be bored on the Oasis. Thank you so much for this video! Im so excited now to celebrate my 60th birthday here🎉
Hello @angelaburke9451, I was wondering if you had a good cruise? I’m planning a trip with a friend of mine who has mobility chalenges. He does not use a wheelchair yet but his condition is rapidly evolving. He will probably need to use a scooter to be able to explore and be mobile. Did you book a cabin that was “accessible” for wheelchair/scooter? Did you book your trip on-line or with an agent? Thanks for your help! Cheers!
16:21 when we found him in the elevator we loved it. The whole cruise was great, minus a few annoying parts. 7/14-7/21 was packed but still a great, much needed vacation.
I did a Western Caribbean itinerary on the Oasis back in 2019. It was my very first cruise, and it was the most perfect vacation I’d ever had up to that point. The food was spectacular, the service unparalleled, and the ship experience exciting. Fast forward to April of 2023, I took an Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Oasis’ sister ship, Harmony, and the whole ship experience was very blah, and the overcrowding in certain places on the ship was unbearable. Perfect Day at Coco Cay was exceptional, as were the other two islands. Anyway, my experience on the Harmony notwithstanding, I don’t think any other cruise line does the Caribbean as good as Royal.
Very well said. That was my only constructive criticism with this boat. It was PACKED. I understand it is a big ship but over 6000 people were on it when we sailed and at times, you felt it! I have a friend that sailed out 2 weeks later and they had over 6700 people on the boat! He said it was a miserable experience at times. WAAAAAY too many people.
went on the Oasis this year , I really liked it , hadn't cruise in 18 years and this boat has convinced me to do more cruises in the future. I really liked braised short rib at 150 central park and all the specialty dining was good. The Aqua 80's show was entertaining , they also had a comedy show I enjoyed. this being the oldest Oasis class ship I can only imagine all of them are similar or better. I will say the ship did move alot while I was on it but I really didn't care about that.
We were just on the Oasis in October and honestly didn’t love it. The food wasn’t fabulous and the ship lacked housekeeping in certain areas. We had just cruised with Norwegian Cruise Lines in March and I think that tainted our trip on the Oasis. However, Central Park was fabulous and Aqua 80 was phenomenal!
hey great video just wondering your departure port and what contries did you visit ...by the way we chacked out Planethollywood due to your videos pretty happy..thks
Hi and thanks for watching! We loved Planet Hollywood!!! We departed from Bayonne NJ and stopped at Port Canaveral in Florida. Soon after, we went to the Bahamas and stayed there for a day. Before we went home we stopped off at the private island (CocoCay). Then before you know it, back to NJ! It happens so fast because you're having so much fun!!!
We were there from the 14th to the 21st. We had a great time. I briefly touch upon the smoking / nonsmoking areas of the casino here - ruclips.net/video/VrSsWr_YHb8/видео.html
@@LemSat87 I agree! As time went by, we learned the "hot spots" on the boat - where and when it got crowded and quickly learned how to avoid some of it. 🙂
Jay just came across this review as I was going to reach out to you about if you were traveling anytime soon because as you know I take your recommendations because the are spot on !! With that being said ive never been on a cruise and we go to the Riviera Maya al the time so what is your honest opinion on cruise verse all inclusives ? Let me know ! We just got back 2 months ago from Moon Palace and wasn't a fan 😂
Hi there! At this time, no. No plans just yet. I've been eying a few places in Mexico but we haven't decided on anything at this time. I'll be sure to keep you in the loop though! 🙂
@Charles-nk3ep Sorry, you're right! That's such a hard question to answer. Apples and oranges! I think that's why we mix it up. We tend to stay on resorts more often because we like having that freedom to roam around and explore. Cruises are so densely packed with activities and there's hardly any time to just sit and unwind. You're just too busy having fun!!! For unwinding and relaxing - Resorts are my go-to solution. If we're up for adventure, we look at taking a cruise.
You are 100% correct. Someone on the boat said the same thing to me while we were enjoying our trip. Maybe this is a sign that I need to cruise more often!
The buffet, the main dining hall, pizza on the fifth floor, the little eatery in central park, breakfast at johnny rockets... There may be a few others but those are the main options
Not cheap at all We had the drink package so we never got a bill after we ordered However, from some of the receipts I was able to see, a can of beer was 9 bucks, a glass of wine was 13, not sure about mixed drinks

Oh wow, that's amazing! I'm jealous!!!
Hope you have a blast!!!!

He was a blast!
A few days later I found him again but the elevator was packed!!!! So sadly, I could join him again.
Thank you! This video was helpful. Going back and forth between Oasis or the Harmony for next year. Leaning towards Oasis due to the itinerary.
I'm glad you found this helpful! I haven't traveled on the Harmony yet. If you take it, please let me know.
Thanks
Excellent video. Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together really helpful
You're very welcome. I hope you found it helpful. We really had a blast on this ship!!!
I’m so excited. I go on my first cruise in 9 days. Going on a 9 day Oasis of the Seas cruise.
OH WOW I WISH!!!! I hope you have just as much fun as I did. I miss that ship!
Ship, not a BOAT! Thanks for the video.

Great video review. Appreciate you taking that
Thank you! Do you plan on going?
Yes summer
@mayerpeters You're going to love it!!!
My husband and I will be cruising on the same ship Aug 20th. This review is awesome! It helped a lot!😊🎉
I'm really happy to hear that!
Hope you have a blast!
Come back after your trip. Curious to see if you had the same experience!
My boys and I will be on this sailing. Maybe we'll see you around.

I agree, the boat is so nice and the staff was 10/10! Wonderful people!!

Oasis also has a no smoking casino. Very small area. We were on the 7/14 cruise which was crowded with 6700 passengers. What cruise date were you on?
We were there from the 14th to the 21st. We had a great time.

My GF & I were on the 7/14-7/21 cruise also. When they said we had 6690 passengers on our cruise i was amazed but not surprised...it was def crowded.

Great Video. I’ll be there November 12
You're going to LOVE IT!!! So much fun!
Cruise etiquette #1………It is a SHIP…… not a boat. 😊
You are 100% correct.
Someone on the boat said the same thing to me while we were enjoying our trip.
Maybe this is a sign that I need to cruise more often!
A boat is what you get on when the ship sinks 😆
hows the food? you didint touch on the food to much
The food was delicious. We ate mostly at the buffet as it was easier with our large crowd. Very good food!
Great review
Thank you very much. I appreciate that.
Which restaurants are included?
The buffet, the main dining hall, pizza on the fifth floor, the little eatery in central park, breakfast at johnny rockets... There may be a few others but those are the main options
what were the drink prices? We're not doing a drink package.
Not cheap at all
We had the drink package so we never got a bill after we ordered
However, from some of the receipts I was able to see, a can of beer was 9 bucks, a glass of wine was 13, not sure about mixed drinks
Most drinks are between $9.99 and $14.00. The "signature cocktails" are all $14.00
Chair hoarders are nasty 😢
I couldn't have said it better myself!
