We’re leaving on a cruise on Grandeur in one week. It will be a first as a reunion cruise. I can’t wait.
We’ve been on the Grandeur 7 times. We love small ships and crowds. Also it used to be out of Baltimore so it was convenient and we didn’t have to fly to Florida. Great little ship.
Now we have her sister, Vision.
Sailing on her in May 2024, I am excited! And this is my first cruise. 🎉❤
We're sailing the following month for my wife's birthday and it's our first time too!
You Will make great memories !
Grandeur was our first cruise in 2022 and we loved it. The staff really made the experience and we really enjoyed the option to hang out in the climate controlled Solarium. Took a lot of naps in there! 😴
13 May? If so, see you there!
We're going may 13
Sailing July 6th out of Tampa. 5-night itinerary:
Day 1 Tampa
Day 2 at sea
Day 3 George Town, Grand Cayman
Day 4 Cozumel, Mexico
Day 5 at sea
Day 6 Tampa
Can’t wait. This ship is a great value $ play.
Matt, a great walk through of the Grandeur. We were on the GOS in August, 2023. We had a great time and really enjoyed being on an actual cruise ship and not on a floating amusement park. The ship has had regular maintenance and is going for a dry dock in March of 2024. We were told new air conditioning for the ship, Star-link are some of the things to be serviced. We took all of our evening meals in the MDR and the new menu which we enjoyed. Both the food quality, quantity and service were excellent. We were in 8574 which is a Grand Suite. The Suites Lounge was excellent and the Concierge provided great service. I've been on both the Grandeur and the Enchantment many times and recommend both of them when ask. For people looking for a smaller venue with less noise and a more of an "old time cruise" experience this is it. Children don't bother us but if you're looking for fewer children this ship has fewer children primarily because there is less for them to do. All said this is still my favorite RCCL ship and this was my 71 cruise.

This comment is really helpful. My wife and I are planning a cruise June 2025 for my birthday and the itinerary we’re eyeing is on Grandeur. We did our first cruise August 2023 on Serenade and loved it. We’re also going on Adventure in October for our anniversary. I guess we have a thing for the classy old ladies of the fleet.
@@kiezer21just got off adventure in April and you’ll love it!
You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.
😂I saw his shirt too. Caught my eye.
We went on this ship few years ago and it was very different from wonder or oasis that we always do. It really was a nice break from the big crowds. No lines at the buffet No lines at MDR and plenty of deck chairs at the pool on deck 10. Had hardly any kids mostly adults which was great. Staff were all relaxed and very friendly I'm guessing from not being over worked and overwhelmed with cabins and tons of kids. We would definitely do this again but we did see kids in the adult pools at the solarium. Crew just looked the other way did nothing said nothing just looked at us and shook their heads and smiled. I don't understand why Royal doesn't enforce the No kid rule like carnival does. Carnival post staff members they check Everyone every 5 min No kids were ever in the adult pools more then 5 minutes the 2X we did carnival panorama. They would walk up to parents and say No kids sorry have to leave. That's the only thing I like about carnival.
My wife and I sailed on Grandure. It was a last minute booking when we found out all the vax and mask mandates were lifted. Got a great deal and the cruise was amazing. It was our 5th cruise but our first with our 2 year old daughter. We had a fabulous time. So relaxing and our daughter loved it!! Would definitely sail on this ship again!
Went on Grandeur of the Seas for my first cruise right before 9/11 as a young kid. Got me hooked on cruises since then and have been on 11 as of this post. Things sure have changed since then..
We sailed on Enchantment of the Seas back in 2015. The Vision class ships are very nicely laid out and easy to get around on. The Grandeur looks great!
For Royal Caribbean, “small” is a relative term. Grandeur still measures in at 73,817 gross tons (44,122 net tons).
I love this ship❤
Sailing August 2024 - will be my second cruise with Royal (first on this ship).
Sailed on Grandeur twice; both very enjoyable. Favorite spot depends on the time of day. The solarium was very relaxing and the centrum at night was a lot of fun.
First cruise was on Grandeur out of Baltimore, 10 night trip which I loved. 😊
We enjoyed our time on Grandeur last year. It’s nice to be able to mix it up between all the classes of ships Royal has. They’re all wonderful as far as we’re concerned.
How fortuitous. We just booked a cruise on Grandeur for next December. These are always so helpful. Thanks Matt
Glad it was helpful!
We're going Dec 2024
Our first cruise was on the Lady G out of Baltimore. We were hooked!
Dude, I love that you mentioned "people watching," we LOVE people watching lol
We were on it last year and loved it. Lots of great sea views. Would definitely do it again.
My first cruise will be on GOS in May. I’m really excited, seems just my speed while I get used to the idea of a giant floating building haha
mine too !!
I love these cruise walk through please keep these going!❤🎉
My first cruise was on this ship around 2010, and I had a blast! I was cruising solo and loved the smaller size and fewer crowds. I met a lot of folks at dinner, on excursions, and hanging out, and the crew was outstanding. It was right before it was renovated, and the decor was a bit dated but everything was well-maintained and spotless. I liked the quiet area near the spa at the stern that had mesmerizing views when the ship was sailing. I thought Royal Caribbean sold her but am pleased she's still in the fleet. I may need to cruise on her again someday!
I don't know if Matt will ever see this but I just want to say you are an EXCELLENT narrator.
Thank you!
You're so professional I thought you worked for Royal. lol!@@RoyalCaribbeanBlog
Lava flow with kracken run strikes again! Lol.
I love these smaller RC ships, Jewel of the Seas is my favorite
We sailed this ship 2-01-1997 and she was beautiful. Nice video.
Was the Grandeur doing Miami, PR, St Thomas and Labadee at that time? We took our 3 and 6 yr old daughters on their first cures on the Grandeur. Around this time.
@@jonkrispeterson6678 That was the one! I remember that the crew didn't work seamless together since it was the 5th cruise working together.
Thanks so much! I am looking at taking this ship to the ABCs (bucket list trips) but I am used to Megas--Oasis class--smallest Ive ever done was Indy. I don't need the bells and whistles...just a cozy place to sit and drink with my book and enjoy some entertainment. Im not a huge crowd person so this seems like a nice change of pace!
Nice tour. Thank you.
This was my first ship. An important remark about interior staterooms on Grandeur of the Seas is that they have NO MINIBAR, although ice is available upon request. At any rate, both cruises I took on Vision-class ships were port-intensive so an interior stateroom did just fine, specially for the price.
I was planning a cruise in January and my group was between Grandeur or Explorer. I wish I had seen this video when I booked, as my initial impressions of Grandeur were that it was an old and run down ship. I am excited for Explorer though!
Awesome thank you
We are leaving on Grandeur 1/5/24 for 9 nights. We booked a guaranteed interior room for $386 last spring. Our room is right under the centrum on deck 3 so hopefully the noise isn’t too bad.
Wow how did you get u 9 nights for under 400
We booked early and I think it was so soon after the holidays may have something to do with it. We also did the guaranteed room class where they assign us a room a couple of weeks before sailing.
My family this past summer we’re on the enchantment of the seas Leaving from Venice Italy We did threre 7 days back to back It was a very beautiful ship we are liking the smaller ships in the fleet
We have Cruised this Ship a Few Times and have never been Disappointed.
Lady G is one of our favorites. She's actually a CRUISE focused ship, not a floating amusement park! ❤
For SURE ...If We want a Play
Ground We would go to Disney ...
We were on wonder last week and booked grandeur for 2026! I can’t wait!!! WOS was a bit overwhelming at times for us. Especially with all the kids running amuck and causing issues.
We really enjoyed her, when we went on her in September
Patiently waiting for the Icon of the seas ship your next year
hi, i will be on grandeur of the seas for this Xmas, what special activities, surprises, different events can be expected?
Love the smaller ships- Booked on her Feb 2025 to the ABC's!
Matt I saw a video that said royal Caribbean is bringing a express boarding option, for people that use a passport at chech in with no cost. what can you tells us, is this true
Sailing on her on Sept and my first time on a cruise
My family and I have been on this ship! Beautiful ship! I believe we went to Alaska but we have been on so many cruises and more to come that it is hard to remember! I love them all! ❤🚢
Are there spa cabins on board?
The Centrum seems to work better than the Royal Promenade/Esplanade.
That should be Palladium Theatre. Theater is the spelling for what others would call a cinema.
Is the grandeur of the seas the only Royal Caribbean ship where the wind jammer is forward instead of aft?
All the vision class ships are like this
our next cruise ship, March 2024
Going this Black Friday for the 12 nights I’m kind of nervous because it’s a long time on such a small ship and I want not able to get a balcony just a window. They put me on the 2nd floor mid ship and I’m freaking out.
Where is it going?
Oof no balcony huh I wouldn't go
For this to be the oldest Royal cruise ship it don’t look bad at all
14:14 What the heck?
We get it Matt the elevators are obviously free
There's no Internet in the rooms? Pass.
Its so little
My husband and I went on this cruise ship September 2023. Compared to other cruises ive been on, this ship is boring amd doesn't have much to do. Not many places to get food other than then dining room, pizza and The Windjammer. A lot of the other travels were not friendly andndidnt seem to be welcoming of people of color. We wer told by the Maitre D in the dining room not to return when we were doing nothing but sitting there attempting to enjoy the food (which wasnt good) I will NEVER travel with RC again. Carnival is much better and the food is absolutely better!
