    also an interesting place to visit in Manila is Paco Park n Cemetery now a recreational garden w/c was once Manila's municipal cemetery originally built by the Dominicans in 1807 during the Spanish colonial period. Originally designed to be the final resting place for the Spanish colonial elite where the inner walls of the circular garden still houses the marble crypt markers that bear their family names. Also the place where the national heroes Rizal n Gomburza were buried. Inside the park is the Church of St. Pancrcius w/c is a popular wedding venue because of its beautiful background....

    try to visit the historical island of Corregidor via about 30 mins ride by ferry boat...this is where a fierce battle occured between the US n Japanese forces during WW2 n now a war memorial stands...things to see are the Malinta tunnel, ruins of the mile long American barracks, etc....

    I love to go to the Philippines to get away from the chaos. Lucky me I have a house in Silang, Cavite. It's about 19km (12 miles) north of the main crater of Taal. I was there for the eruption and everything was covered by volcanic ash. We had so many volcanic earthquakes that I lost count of how many we had.

    • @melissalegarda
      @melissalegarda  5 месяцев назад +1

      Silang is so beautiful and peaceful. I hope your house is okay and that the area has recovered. I went to visit Tagaytay last year and felt gutted when seeing all the black ash covering the once-verdant volcano area within Taal Lake.

      @@melissalegarda The house is fine although with all of the shaking it was making me wonder if something bad was going to happen. It's nice that you got to visit Tagaytay an I really hope that you had a wonderful time there. All the houses were covered in ash along with the streets in the subdivision but it was all cleaned up after a few weeks. I didn't realize that some places were still covered by ash and hopefully everything is better now. Take very good care and God bless you always.

      Hey, it’s a mix! I’ve driven to all of them in my own car before, and I’ve also had a private driver, and I’ve also taken the JoyBus and Genesis Bud from Cuban/Quezon Avenue.
      I’d recommend driving if you can because the Skyway connects to the NLEX/SLEX and makes everything super quick to get to if you leave early enough.
      Hope that helps 😊 Thanks for watching!

    Great video! Thanks for sharing this tips! Do you know there is any bus from Batanagas to Tagaytay?

    • @melissalegarda
      @melissalegarda  4 месяца назад

      Hey! There’s no direct bus as far as I’m aware but the journey is straightforward. You hop on the bus to Manila at Batangas, then switch bus at Parañaque or Cubao to another that goes to Tagaytay. Hope that helps!

    Thanks for the Vid! thats really great, but in reality only Taal and Anilao is fit for a weekend trip. the ride up to Subic bay takes 4 hours or more depending on traffc (last time i went, i went early morning missing much of the traffic) and thats using expressways. going home was a 5 hour ride hitting the evening traffic on sunday. Both Baguio and Baler are 6+ hour drives. Wouldnt say any of those are fit for a weekend trip. if 3 day trip, yeah maybe! No.1 In PH when it comes to moving somewhere. Dont trust Google maps Times, and Every movement will take a day, so plan for that!

    • @melissalegarda
      @melissalegarda  Год назад +1

      Thanks for your input - I definitely agree to an extent. Traffic is the real dealbreaker here. Leave early as possible! I'd say Baler and Baguio are both fine for a weekend trip, you just need to leave early on Friday (4am maybe) and/or late Thursday evening (10pm onwards). Once you're out of the cities and on the highways it's pretty plain sailing!
