i’m going to alton towers next week and i wear glasses and for example i want to go on the smiler. does the smiler have any lockers, and if so where? obviously i don’t want to wear them because i’ll lose them. is it safe enough to put them in zip pockets or not?
This a nice report; thsnk you 👏
Thanks, very useful. I'm going on thursday xx
Thank you for the tips ms mel!!
Stunning. …and so is Santander !
hi mel, can i ask how you traveled from dalaman to these areas, is there a taxi app like uber? also did you book the excursions online? thanks x
hey! thanks for the q - I took a private van shuttle because I was in a group excursion for most of the time, and took taxis/Uber a couple of times! yes - I'd always recommend you book online in advance - have put the excursion links here: www.illumelation.com/blog/turkiye/best-things-to-do-in-dalaman-mugla/ xx
@@melissalegarda thank you xx
Better to rent a quad or car? Also can you get around at night in the quad?
Whichever you’re most comfortable with! I prefer a car since I like to leave stuff in the boot like beach blankets, sunscreen, drinks etc. But quad is easy to get around as Milos roads are super chill 👍🏽 even at night yes!
@@melissalegarda What area would you recommend staying in? I’m having a hard time deciding whether to be in a more secluded place with good views (more budget friendly) or to be in an area with more restaurants and shops but give up the view because of higher cost. I’d love to find an area that is close to everything that I need but still has good views and budget friendly. Not sure if this makes any sense.
@@christianholloway1542 I had the same decisions to make when I visited! I decided to stay in Adamas first (more budget-friendly with good views and lots to do) and then moved to Pollonia for the last few days (more expensive but stunning area and amazing restaurants). I rented a car too so it was easier to get around. Check out my recommended hotels here - www.illumelation.com/blog/greece/10-things-to-do-in-milos-travel-guide/ - the suites in Pollonia were amazing but if on a budget there are lovely airbnbs! I really hope this helps. Reply
Where did you stay in milos?
Stayed in Adamas & Pollonia! Check out my recommended hotels here - www.illumelation.com/blog/greece/10-things-to-do-in-milos-travel-guide/ - the suites were amazing but if on a budget there are lovely airbnbs!
@@melissalegarda Thank you.. Will surely go through it.
Does it get foggy there in the winter?
I’d say so especially because it’s coastal! I went in June and there were days it was overcast and hazy from drizzle 😊
@@melissalegarda Thanks. Did you encounter any storms? I think I read somewhere that storms are common along this coastline.
@@moonmist9 No storms! Only a couple of drizzly moments, grey skies etc on and off :) it's why I recommend renting a car if you're going outside of summer, so you can continue exploring the area even if it's raining
Tips
Hey we went to Alton towers like a while ago thanks for the tops
You’re welcome, hope you had a blast!
What an amazing video how do you only have 20 likes😳 this is so good
You’re too kind! Thanks so much for watching and appreciating 🙌🏽🧡 means loads!
Is there any other hotels you recommend as the one you did is fully booked 😢
Hey! I’d definitely recommend looking on Airbnb as there are loads of cute choices. There’s one I loved right outside LIDO - check out places in “Cliftonville” Margate 😊
I found it very dirty, Albania and Greece are far better in my humble opinion
Next week I’m coming how can see you
hello...what is the best place to change the most interesting currency? and can you change Ukrainian currency?
Tks for ur video. I'm in love with ur accent. Because one of my daughter is Filipino and my little one loves her so much so we plan to visit Philippines to learn more about my little one's teacher country in this summer.
What a lovely compliment, thank you so much! When are you going to visit the Philippines? I hope you have an amazing time :)
im gonna go there just hoping their national allarm plays cuz its fire. Even tough i will probably die...
Great commentary Mel. well done on the video.
Appreciate it, thanks very much and hope it was useful 👍🏽
Very useful information thanks
Glad it helped!
Wooowww I’ve lived in London for 30 years, I had no idea it was this beautiful 🤣🤣🍺🍺
It’s easy to forget in those grim winter months 😂
Nice 🍺🍺
you are valentines
Thank you very much!! This is exactly the kind of Turkey travel guide that i was looking for!!! You're the best ❤ i would appreciate if u can give us more details about the booking, links, and how to get to these places. Thanks!!
Thanks so much - glad it was useful! You can find my recommended tours, links, and other details here in my blog post - www.illumelation.com/blog/turkiye/best-things-to-do-in-dalaman-mugla/
Thanks... very useful. Visiting AT in June :)
Have a great time!
Im literally sat here watching your video eating Poached Eggs on a Bagel as you describe Balut 😅
Hahaha. An egg is an egg!
Great video!!!! It’s my wife’s 50th bday next year in April, all These places that you mention on the video, are you able to go to all of them even tho it’s still a bit snowy? I’m planning the trip for the last 2 weeks of April. Thanks for your help and advice!🙏😁
Hey Luis, thanks for your comment! Yes, I visited all of these places in late April and early May. Even when snowy they are accessible (apart from the Ice Cave near Katla - you’ll need to check with in the tour operator for your specific days). I’d recommend making sure you have snow boots with a strong grip on icy terrain and a high quality parka with a good hood. I hope you guys have a great trip!
Any live music bars you recommend?
Hey Carlos! There are so many live music bars and performers popping up everywhere from restaurants to cafés to bars after hours. Is there a particular area you’re staying in?
I loved this video, thanks Mel! 🤗
Thanks so much Sarah!
Stunning video! Who fell off their horse??😂❤
Thank you! 😂😂
❤
add the Paco Park n Cemetery in Malate district of Manila , a beautifully landscaped turned garden w/c has become a popular wedding venue for its quaint small St. Pancrasius Chapel
while in Manila ride a few minutes ferry ride to the historical island of Corregidor where you can see the Malinta tunnel, the ruins of the mile long American barracks among others n much more .....also visit the Paco Park n Cemetery, a beautifully landscaped park w/c has become a popular wedding venue in Manila because of is beautifully landscaped garden for a background...
All added to my list! Thanks for the inspiration 👌🏽
Great video! Thanks for sharing this tips! Do you know there is any bus from Batanagas to Tagaytay?
Hey! There’s no direct bus as far as I’m aware but the journey is straightforward. You hop on the bus to Manila at Batangas, then switch bus at Parañaque or Cubao to another that goes to Tagaytay. Hope that helps!
@@melissalegardaHi! Thanks! I have just come back from Philippines. Your videos were very useful!
@@Movie_ON Amazing! How was your trip to the Philippines?
such a primitive guide! a tour for idiots!
also an interesting place to visit in Manila is Paco Park n Cemetery now a recreational garden w/c was once Manila's municipal cemetery originally built by the Dominicans in 1807 during the Spanish colonial period. Originally designed to be the final resting place for the Spanish colonial elite where the inner walls of the circular garden still houses the marble crypt markers that bear their family names. Also the place where the national heroes Rizal n Gomburza were buried. Inside the park is the Church of St. Pancrcius w/c is a popular wedding venue because of its beautiful background....
try to visit the historical island of Corregidor via about 30 mins ride by ferry boat...this is where a fierce battle occured between the US n Japanese forces during WW2 n now a war memorial stands...things to see are the Malinta tunnel, ruins of the mile long American barracks, etc....
Next time I visit I want to focus on exploring more history and scratching deeper below the surface, so really appreciate your recommendations!
I know I’m late seeing this video lmao 🤣 but I’m going in a couple of months a good friend of mine lives close in ozamis
Awesome - hope you have an amazing time!!
I'm so glad I stumbled upon your video! It's so lovely to hear about a place from someone with a connection to the place! Hope to see more of your vids in the future!
Thanks so much Briana!
Balut is not a fermented duck egg. It's a fertilized duck egg. The eighteen days thing that you mentioned is how developed the embryo is within the shell. Obviously, the more days, the closer to hatching, and the closer to a duckling the embryo will appear to be when cracked open. (Or is that quacked open?) The Chinese eat fermented duck eggs by coating them with all sorts - salt and ash, quicklime and rice husks, and then burying them for months. They refer to it as Century Old Egg, and when peeled, the egg is then black in colour. I don't think it's fertilized. I think it is steamed/boiled or added to a soup.
Quacked open! Nicely done. Thanks for your comment and correcting my terminology with a clearer distinction between fertilised and fermented. Appreciate it! I'm intrigued about Century Old Eggs, hopefully get to experience that soon
Thanks Mel, lots of helpful information! Maybe the fish balls is a must try street food
Thanks for watching! Noted on the fish balls haha
I’ve been there many years ago and really enjoyed all of those places it’s was one of the best holidays I’ve had !!!!! ❤
Amazing video with useful information. Can't wait to visit the Philippines.
Thanks so much T! Hope you have an epic trip
Gahd... another vlogger who does not know the difference between "Metro Manila" and "Manila". Videos like this is the reason foreigners here call EVERYTHING Manila just because they see a skyscraper. It's annoying. And they look st. Pid. If you can't rid of the habit calling it Manila, then call it "Metro Manila" instead so you can be approximate instead of plain wrong. 00:11 Almost none of these is Manila. 05:40 SM MoA is not in Manila. Also, it's not "ShoeMart". It's just "SM". Sure, SM was "Shoemart" a long time ago, but now it's just "SM". There is even word that it's "Sy-Mendiola". 14:10 Almost all the places you mentioned are not in Manila. Pls recognize the validity of the other cities in Metro Manila. Trivia: Manila is a mere 4% of the NCR. Half of the other cities in the same region are even larger than Manila. Quezon City, for example, dwarfs it 7x over.
This is just the video I have been looking for, I need ideas for a week in Manila before I visit wang od in kalinga for a tattoo. I’d like to visit vigan as well but might be a bit tricky to fit everything in travelling by bus, I have 3 weeks in Luzon
I"m so jealous you're going to Kalinga for a tatt! It's on my bucketlist. Did you end up going to Vigan? Hope you have an epic time in Luzon!
I love to go to the Philippines to get away from the chaos. Lucky me I have a house in Silang, Cavite. It's about 19km (12 miles) north of the main crater of Taal. I was there for the eruption and everything was covered by volcanic ash. We had so many volcanic earthquakes that I lost count of how many we had.
Silang is so beautiful and peaceful. I hope your house is okay and that the area has recovered. I went to visit Tagaytay last year and felt gutted when seeing all the black ash covering the once-verdant volcano area within Taal Lake.
@@melissalegarda The house is fine although with all of the shaking it was making me wonder if something bad was going to happen. It's nice that you got to visit Tagaytay an I really hope that you had a wonderful time there. All the houses were covered in ash along with the streets in the subdivision but it was all cleaned up after a few weeks. I didn't realize that some places were still covered by ash and hopefully everything is better now. Take very good care and God bless you always.
I would like to try the duck egg. I think I'd like it.
I recommend you confirm from the vendor that the balut is just a few weeks old. Pretty sure locals eat it only while the bones and beak are barely formed so they're still chewy (and very little hair) and you can wolf the whole thing down esp if you are just in it for the "bragging rights" that you ate one of the most notorious foods on Earth. A bit of salt greatly improves the flavor -- esp the fluid. Don't forget to put some! Vendors will always offer salt for free.
Is November / December a recommended time to visit Santander?
I'd say it'll be chilly around that time but probably fewer crowds!
thank you....Mabuhay ka....
