  • I had this video set to premier earlier today, but RUclips had an error during processing and they didn't bother to let me know about this until I found out hours later. Once I found out, I immediately re-uploaded the file.
This error may have been caused by my internet outages, which is one of the reasons you have not seen me playing very much. I hope to get these internet issues resolved soon.

@@panemon187 sweet thanks dude! Would you mind elaborating on what weps you use in which situations? Or is it just swapping between heavy crossbow and halberd?

@@dude8764 I carry 6 weapons on me, and I use them often for different situations.
Crossbows are great for fighting poison mages, which is usually what I use them for since you can drink potions one handed and shoot at a distance (or you can use a katana, which is also good since they are one handed items) and the xbow weapon timer is about 3 seconds.
Heavy crossbows are great for immediately doing heavy damage from a distance, it's usually my initial attack weapon. Heavy crossbows are great finisher weapons too when a player is at anywhere from 30%-45% health in a given situation. The problem with heavy crossbows is the very short range and a long 4 second weapon timer.
Bows are a fast way to kite a mage down, and force them to use up their mana with healing spells sometimes. Usually after hitting initially with the heavy crossbow, I switch to the small bow after 2 seconds to get in a quick follow up shot at range. Bows are also good for blocking poorly timed greater heal spells, thanks to their 2 second timer and longer reach. (A skilled mage can greater heal through bow spam.)
The other reason why I like to use archery first is that I can save my hamstring without having to activate it manually, so then I move to swords after they have taken less than 75% damage or so.
The katana is a great weapon for spell disruption. Sometimes if you get lucky in a tight situation, the katana is a great weapon for blocking offensive spells, but does minimal damage. Its effectiveness will be based on your accuracy RNG.
The katana is also great for blocking greater heal spells. I try to constantly count in my head as I am fighting, so I get an idea which weapon to use at what time. I also try to keep all Katanas I use with a fresh application of deadly poison on them, because they are sometimes useful for fighting parry dexers or dexers in general.
So when you get a dexer down to a certain percentage of health, it's good practice to try to throw in a chance of weapon poison to disrupt the bandage heal, which is the key tactic in killing many dexers. (knowing when that bandage will apply has to be guestimated)
The Halberd is a great finishing weapon, and it's a great weapon to step down someones health from 70%ish, with a nice hamstring to seal the deal. The halberd is actually a very fast weapon on a 3 second timer, I have been making a habit of using it more when I am timing my attacks. Big hits = quick wins.
The executioner axe is great for follow up attacks after a hally at close range, so I go from hally to axe, then katana for proper DPS rotation. It has about a 2 second timer which comes in handy if you are fighting a mage that is spamming lesser heal spells.
So basically you just need to naturally familiarize yourself with the weapon timers, and have access to quick macros to switch between weapons that you can memorize without having to look down at the keyboard. I have new macros I am currently trying to get used to, and they are more ergonomic like using: asd/zxc/qwe to switch between weapons or to drink potions, so they are all right there for quick access. I use bandage self on a side mouse button click so I can quickly keep them in constant rotation in fights.
It's also good practice to use strength potions when you are double debuffed by mages and using bombags to set up bandage preheals, so that when a mage starts to dump on you, the 10 second bandage will pop sooner to get you healing faster.
Skilled mages will require you to play smart, they will use bless, reactive armor and protection buffs which can sometimes make them stronger than plate dexers during initial encounters and they can be a real pain, especially parry mages.
I try to avoid fights with parry mages, most of them can't kill me and I have a small chance to kill them. (I have killed some, but rarely)
Half of playing a dexer here on this server is luck, you must rely on good RNG to be able to keep the pressure on.
It's also good to try to avoid letting mages lure you into mobs, or into areas with choke points.
Any small amount of damage done to you initially as they prepare their dump will almost certainly be guarenteed to end you, so be careful of mobs and always be aware of your surroundings as much as possible.
