Amazing are the different landscapes of British Columbia. CN train has 4 locomotives on front. CPKC has 1 plus a mid DPU. Any logic as to when DPU is utilized? A real pest aren't I? 😅
No not a pest at all and these will be great to add to the upcoming “Questions & Answers” video series I will be continuing soon when I get more time to build videos. I will quickly answer this for you - I find that CP likes to run MID and REAR DPU’s and CN will usually do 1-1 (front and back) setups, but then they will do mid DPU’s sometimes with 2 units upfront and CP will do the same, so it’s very hard to grasp the concept because it seems that it’s not really planned out but what ever is most convenient, although there are trains that always have the same DPU configuration but I find that those trains always remain with the same consistent axle count so they always leave it 1-1-1 (like a coal train for example.) Thank you John for your questions, not sure if I answer them correctly or if it’s helpful but I will try my best, I may need to research and get some more info about this one, thanks!
Loved this video, so many good things going on! Great scenery, rare location where dual companies run side by side on the same side of the river, great long views of the trains capped off by twin tunnels. And a bonus of a work train going past, and then back again with the same load (like they didn't know where to go) and the single, lonely engine who doesn't seem to know they lost the rest of the train 😄
Yes this location is Basque on the Ashcroft side of the river (south). I did a 1 hour hike down here to find this location, I have tried a couple attempts getting to this location from the opposite side which is owned by a farmer and his phone number is posted on the fence but last time I tried to get in he said it was to wet and muddy so maybe next time or once I get a new drone I can do some more content from here. Thanks TJ
Very good video. When I lived in Ashcroft I went to this location a few time to train watch. Wore my knee high rubber boots to avoid rattle snake strikes. Power for the work train is? What was up with the lite power going WB?
Great catches.
Thanks for watching 🙏
Wow!!!
Man that first train was really booking it...! That was an awesome perspective and coverage. The single engine at the end looked out of place... LoL
Them hoggers don’t always use them rear view mirrors they loose there train at times! Lol 😂
Awesome catches Tyson also stay safe out there
Thanks for the care and concern Nancy I appreciate your supportive comments 😁

Think the hogger forgot to look back in the mirrors! Lol. Yikes I never had any problems with the snakes wearing shorts! 😂
i noticed on another page, virtual railfan the grex excavator was passing through chehalis may 6th heading north
Same unit? or maybe they have a few that look the same.
Spectacular geography there, notice the up thrust sedimentary rock over the tunnels.
can you do a video on at Basque , CP and CN use directional running begins
I will try and get some shots from that area next time I’m out that way, thanks Terry 👍🏼

Hey Tyson, any smoke in that part of BC yet?
Nope but the Alberta wildfires are a blazing currently so it won’t be long.
Another trainload of all the latest stuff from China
That’s correct 😂
