My daughter has just turned 5 & has only become dry overnight within the past few months. We just waited until the hormone kicked in & was dry in her pull up for a good week or so :) I’d say George needs pull ups overnight still ❤ xx
I was thinking the same. My 4 year old still has milk before bed and I won't ever stop that if he keeps asking. A Pull up will be used until his hormone kicks in. Heard it can be as late as 7 in boys!!
@@virtah123 yeah I just think it’s more stress than it’s worth if there not ready, we tried a few times with my daughter but she kept wetting the bed & now she’s ready she’s only had 1 small accident and it’s so much more relaxed :) I never thought it would happen haha xx
Morning Shan, I know George is potty trained, but since he has accidents on a night is it worth him wearing night time pull up nappies just so you're not having to change the bedding all the time and can have a bit more rest?
I literally love your videos and how realistic you are! It's easy to think you're completely failing as a Mum, but seeing someone facing the same challenges as you really makes you feel less alone! Just a side note, if youre interested, we went through a period of early wakes with my little girl when she was Halle's age (now 7 months) one thing that really helped was pushing that first nap as far into the morning as possible. So I wouldn't let her nap before 8.30, then gradually moved to 8.45 and now currently 9.00. Obviously it isn't always possible but I found that it helped to kind of shift her body clock! Although I'm well aware that babies change all the time and she may decide 5am is her preferred wake up time again at any given moment for no apparent reason 😂
so nice your close to your mum , would be lovely to see her and George together, my little grandson is 6 weeks old and I love him so much xxx you're doing amazing xxx
My 3.5 year old is still in nappies I’m not trying to potty train him at night until he turns 4 on April. It takes longer for boys plus he drinks way more than my daughter did. Apparently some kids atill go to school wearing nappies 😳 but don’t worry when to start. I use these really good mattress protectors under our sheets when he has weed over his nappy and they are so good and protect the mattress xx
I'm really glad you don't share you kids faces, as much as I would love to see those interactions! I think you're a great mum for respecting their online privacy ❤ and you're learning a balance of what you want to share vs what you feel is appropriate. Nobody is perfect and I think a lot of people online (in nasty trolling forums) are very quick to judge but probably haven't been in your specific situation. How much can they possibly really know from a 10 min vlog of your day! 😂 My two are so sweet together as well, there's nothing that beats watching them snuggle or the older one sharing her toys with him.... but you have to watch her like a hawk as more often than not she gets a bit over excited and tries to squash him 😂
Im currently pregnant and will be having a similar age gap to you and honesty these videos are so helpful in what i might experience. I love your videos and keep going!! You got this mama
I’ve read this a lot, but I really don’t want to go back to nappy pants at night, i think it’s just a bit of a regression, because he was fine before 😭 although it if carries on I think I might have to! Xxx
I think in some seasons of life you just need to do what you need to do to survive 😂 lots of extra washing is not something you need right now, use the pull ups and just see how he goes. Once he starts becoming dry you can take them away. Don’t think of it as a regression at all. Big life changes (I.e new house, new sister) can cause the hormone to dip. Just try the pull ups and give it a few months. 3 is so young still 💙 x
Maybe pop the pull up on George during the night. You can't train night time dryness as its hormonal not taught. Don't think it does any harm in them going backwards and saves the washing.
Omg the struggles with toddlers being able to ‘choose’ what they want on tv is the bane of my life. I regret ever having shown my 2 year old anything other than live TV. Our parents had that part of parenting soooo much easier 😂
We all know our own kids best. George is going to have accidents from time to time, doesn't mean he still needs over night pants. If it was every night yes, maybe but here and there probably not.
Sorry catching up!! But I fully get the cbeebies in the morning, same shows daily etc. We know that when the 2nd bluey is finished it's time for socks and shoes 🤣
This is so helpful. My toddler will be 3 when our next arrives in June (also have a 13 yr old) and I'm really wondering what mat leave will look like and then probably wven more of a juggle... the return to work 😮 seeing your videos i presume theres a similar age gap to what I'll have so goves me an idea what carnage to expect 😂 well done, stay positive, its all a phase (and repeat) x
We use pull ups at night with our 3 year old but call them night time underpants so in his view it’s not a nappy it’s like the underpants he wears all day so he knows to still go to the toilet. We also take him to the toilet wen we go to bed and if he wakes up in the night we ask if he wants to go.
OMG you handle a LOT. I am 8 months pregnant with my second (also girl) and I have a 3 y/o son. I am terrified after watching this video 😅 you are doing an amazing job ❤
I’d definitely put a pull up on George at night, less upsetting for him and a lot easier for you! It’s very normal for children (especially boys) to not be dry at night at his age
It’s a shame you feel like you’re over sharing - it would be interesting to hear what parts you feel you’ve overstated on as I think you’ve been perfect - honest and balanced. But you protect yours and your family space Shan!
Ohhhh the tantrums! My little girl is a few months younger than George and we’re having to deal with them constantly over the most minor things. We’ve tried calmly trying to explain things to her but they are just so sensitive and dramatic! In a morning I get “mummy, mummy, MUMMY I’m awake”, and when she gets out of the bath we wrap her up in a towel and call her baby burrito 😂😂
Have you thought about adhd with George, my eldest is 3 in January and on her 2.5 year assessment it was noticed that she had high markers for ADHD and her sleep was very much the same and her behaviour was and still is bad, constantly demanding things and meltdowns of it doesn’t happen xx
Hi Ellie I just wanted to bring this up because a friend mentioned it (she has ADHD diagnosed at 14 and works with young people who have ADHD) but she said alot of the markers mirror screen time addiction especially in younger children. I’m not saying that’s your case or the case for everyone but definitely something to consider if you use screens.
@@JasmineStrongman all the things we noticed right from her being 7/8 months old and still happen to this day regardless as to how much screen time she has, but thank you for your comment as I wasn’t actually aware that was the case and I hope your comment helps some people out 🙂
@@elliemae2237 I was quite shocked when my friend mentioned it. I hope you find help/ support for your daughter. My friend who I mentioned has had support since a teen and is quite successful in her field. Wishing your family all the best xx
My grandson was diagnosed with adhd when he was 3 years old although he had it before then. He was such an handful. He’s 19 now & he wasn’t dry at night till he was a teenager.

Poor little George! Well done for handling it so well - I bet it can be very frustrating and lonely sometimes. You go girl!

Hey, sounds like G needs to be in pull ups overnight if it’s happening most nights. It’s hormonal x

Being dry overnight is a hormonal thing, completely separate to day time. Sounds like George still needs pull ups overnight?
Yes completely agree! Maybe too young for no nappies at night :( xx
Agree
💯 obviously kicking off because he worried about wetting the bed
