Great comparison. I've been looking at both. The heimdallr looks slightly better build quality and has more bezel colour options but the steel dive has better lume.

@@NMwatch My son's birthday is on Fri the 15th so I went ahead and got one Amazon ( cost £114 )which I think still fairly decent value for money all things considered . I could've gotten one from Ali Express for £95 but that includes 2 weeks wait for delivery . I'm a big fan of Steeldive and hopefully my son Joe will be too . Thanks for the great comparison. Before watching this, I couldn't think which of the two to buy. Based on your video, I bought the Heimdallr, on a leather strap, and was able to get it for a great price ($109 including shipping) direct from Heimdallr.

They are more expensive now, but Heimdallr posted on Facebook that you can get a $30 reduction with the code NIU2021
IThanks for the video and I have bought both fyi. The Heimdallr looks in proportion much similar to my original SEIKO 6105-8119. I feel the LOWER BODY CURVISH EFFECT & THE CROWN BEING MUCH BIGGER (LONGER) makes the difference. Steeldive scores on the LOOM though....

@John Reynolds In the end I decided to go with the Steeldive, purely because I have a Heimdallr SKX incoming, so I'm gonna try the Steeldive for brand variety (if that makes sense). Yes I agree the Heimdallr has a few more positives than the Steeldive, and I too like the printed text around the 6 o clock area and that its case brushing is more refined, but I don't think I'll have any regrets going with the Steeldive. I've only heard good reviews about the Steeldive and man do I love that lumed bezel...
The only disappointment I'm facing now is constantly refreshing the tracking on my browser every few hours and seeing that nothing has happened.... Aaaah! This wait is so painful! 😂😭

That was an excellent comparison video. At the start you'd think they are very similar with negligible differences. By the end, I was like 'Oh my god'. They're totally different. What an eye you have!
I have a Steeldive SD1965 and a Heimdallr Monster. These are both companies which are knocking it out of the park as far as Chinese homage watch quality is concerned.
I'd call it a coin toss here. If you really like, or feel you must have, a lumed bezel: it's the Steeldive. If you want the blacker dial and more refined finishing: it's the Heimdallr. On the other hand, you could, maybe, call the Steeldive dial and case brushing 'more vintage'.

Very good review,only omission the price,were I am living the steeldive is 28% cheaper.I am not sure if that is the case in other countries.I purchased the steeldive mainly for the loom and price difference.I also have the San Martin 6105 bronze which I love.Thanks for the review.

I don't think so. Based on the photos, videos and comments on AliExpress so far, I think both AddiesDive and Steeldive came from the same factory. My AddiesDive pilot watch box even came with the AddiesDive sticker put on top of the Steeldive sticker 😂. Maybe they are positioning AddiesDive in a bit lower price point, in order to increase the price of Steeldive. If I own a watch company, that's what I might do😂. Thanks for watching 👍

You meant the Heimdallr right? Mine was stiff too at the beginning but I played around with it for a few months. It is still stiff but usable now. Maybe you should go thru the forums and ask around? Thanks for watching

I have a SEIKO Prospex SBDC143 and a Heimdallr 6105. Honestly, I have to give the slightest edge to the Heimdallr.

As far as the clasp on the stainless steel versions, is the Heimdallr better quality. I see a lot of comments about the Steeldive bracelet and how it isn't very good.
I haven't got the chance to check out both bracelet. So I can't really comment about them. But maybe we should trust RUclips and consider Heimdallr has the better one. Anyway, thanks for watching man 👍

i feel like on my Heimdallr the numbers on the bezel are smaller than yours.. They might have different versions of these watches out there with minor differences.

Very interesting. I started off with a Steeldive but it was a little "basic" for my requirements. Makes a great inexpensive beater. I looked at all the other brands that have versions of this model and went with Heimdallr's custom-made version with the ETA 2824-2 movement, it too has the inky black dial with applied indexes and logo, case finishing is on par with my San Martin or Seikos. Really good bezel action and fitted with an aluminium insert which definitely adds something. No AR coating on its domed sapphire crystal either, definitely more of a "period" look. Slightly different handset. Very nice watch of surprisingly good quality considering the modest price of £250. I also have the sunburst champagne dial titanium 6105 8110 from Heimdallr again a really good quality watch. Depending on what you want they each have something to offer.

I have both watches and the exact opposite experience with their crowns. The SD is fiddly and the Heim is amost automatic. And the SD bezel is horrible too, both stiff and mushy with weak clicks, like it had glue instead of grease. The Heimdallr is a way better watch in every respect.

I always seem to be late on the comments, last comment 8 months back. Whichever watch one chooses, one should be happy without regrets. None of the homage watches are the Seiko 6105 Captain Willard. After looking at the eBay listing, none of the cases are any where near exact so, comparing homage cases is merely an exercise in determining one's desired preference. For me, I selected the Steeldive because I like a ceramic bezel, the better crown function and lume. Oh, I forgot to mention with Steeldive one can select a metal bracelet. If you don't like the clasp, then, upgrade as I did and get a better clasp for $7. Comparing dial color is like comparing black and grey, purchasers preference.

Where did you get it from? If from AliExpress, you can try contacting the seller for a refund or return the watch thru the app. If you bought it from Heimdallr Website, you should be able to return because they are providing 2 years warranty.

Heimdallr makes better quality watches, Steeldive is massively cheaper. I bought my Heimdallr Willard for $169 and my Steeldive Willard for $99. Significant difference in price and quality. Heimdallr is a keeper in my watch collection, Steeldive is my daily beater so I am ok with both actually.

@@NMwatch I will say, however, that the Steeldive is by no means a bad watch, especially for the money. For someone on a tight budget who wants a cool watch, the Steeldive is a major bargain. One thing I noticed in the video that matches the Steeldive I had is that there's a little too much blue AR coating. Also, my San Martin has the same finicky action as the Heimdallr when it comes to screwing down the crown. Good video.

Heimdallr has a domed crystal same as original where as steeldive has a flat crystal.
I've never got my hands on the original 6105, so that's a useful information.
Sukhjit Singh - That's very interesting, I haven't seen a Heimdallr with a domed crystal. That would be a lovely authentic touch - but the one reviewed here (and others I've seen on YT) all have flat sapphire crystal. Where did you get the one with the domed?
bezel backplay and sounding is one of the most funny and a little bit stupid way of how to compare watches...btw steeldive looks much better in my opinion..the shark logo is a bit ugly and the darkgrey dial looks better (more vintage) then the black one
