- Drag Race España season 2 Episode 2 Reaction! We reacted to the full episode of Drag Race Spain season 2 Episode 2! The 2nd mini challenge of the season was the reading challenge! The queens were reading each other for filth and we loved it! The queens were then told that they would be competing in a talent show in front of s live audience! It turned out the queens from season 1 were there to watch the show!! Then on the main stage the queens performed the talents and OMG IT WAS THE BEST TALENT SHOW TO EVER GRACE THE DRAG RACE FRANCHISE!!!! Everyone brought such great talents!! we were so happy!! Then the runway was a beast look!! And once again the queens did amazing!!!!! This was such a great episode!!! The winner of the 2nd episode was Sharonne! The bottom 2 were Samantha Ballentines and Ariel Rec. Samantha removed all of her clothes again and somehow won over the judges and sent Ariel Rec home... It was a surprise.. We were not expecting Ariel to go home. What did you think of the episode?! We are so excited for this season and will be reacting to the whole thing! How long did they have to rehearse? I mean the pit crew choreography with the queens didn't happen overnight. The absolute BEST talent show of any franchise. However, I totally disagree with which of the bottom two was eliminated. The one that stayed just looked desperate instead of talented. IMO Thanks for the review.

The fact that production gave the girls back up dancer and all kind of resources they needed is what makes this possible. Drag Race USA should take some notes about beeing colaborative with the contenstants

Also idk if y'all noticed but in some of the singing performances like for Juriji and Jota, they had "voz en directo" written on the top corner which meant live performance, and that slayed my entire existence

Talent show was the best ever! Runway with a serious touch of Dragula, this episode was everything!!

This episode is sitting strong at a perfect 10/10 on imdb right now. I have been thinking about it since I watched it, the talent show was perfect, the runway was perfect, this episode had me at a loss for words. It has set a new bar for talent shows and runways. I fucking love Drag Race Espana
Update: It lost its 10/10 but 9.9 is still unbelievably incredible!

This talent show was better than anything we've seen on all stars, and these queens don't even have that much money and fame yet. Imagine what they'll accomplish once they've had the exposure and support! I can't wait for a new international version of all stars and they better bring more girls from Spain

I love how when a country has many culture and references even the talents on a television show can be more spectacular and have the variety. USA has to take notes.
The same with La Más Draga, we have so many cultural references here in Mexico to show through the drag.

As soon as I watched this yesterday I was just waiting for you reactions to Sethlas' talent show and Onyx's runway. I was legit SCREAMING at my tv. These girls are delivering! Drag Race Espana has shot its way up to one of the best international franchises.

I think both Javis explained why Onyx was at the bottom: the runway was amazing, but the performance fell flat once she was out of the giant egg and it got really messy, she barely could get the baby out of the belly and was struggling a bit. As much as the runway is important, the whole package is what gets you the win. That's why Sharonne won over Sethlas: Shetlas' performance was more impressive, but her runway was kind of meh. Both Sharonne's performance and runway were great.

That runway was good enough to keep her safe. I know it would have been tough to choose a third one but otherwise runways don't mean much.

2. I can't help seeing a Rebel Mork in LMD4 Finale inspiration in Onix's looks. First the coming out of an egg, then a quadruped creature.
just tell you that when Rebel got her look from the final drag race Spain was already being recorded, she couldn't be inspired by it

Was she a ventriloquist though? Or did she just hold a marrionette?

this episode is the definition of what drag race is, very exciting and full of talent but somehow they manage to mess it up with their final decisions, however this damn talent show💋🤌🏼
I'm from Spain and I suffer because you cannot understand all the references. you would love it. The blue boy from the preview of the next chapter is an actor that I love, his name is Eduardo Casanovas. what Supreme says at the end of, a quien le importa lo que yo haga, a quién le importa lo que yo diga... it's an iconic song from the 80'. it's called a quién le importa, from Alaska. look for it with lyrics in english. mi name is Mireia, if you have any questions here I am 💜
I agree with you that Samantha did exactly the same as last week and she should have gone home. I believe they might be trying to follow a similar strategy as with Pupi last year. Remember when a lot of people thought she should have gone home first episode? Well, in the end it was so funny to have her there all those episodes, she made it for a great TV show (she definetely shut so many mouths lol). But I am afraid Samantha is no Pupi... time will tell. I am sad for Ariel though :(

This is by far the best episode of the franchise, no edited drama, no shade sound effect every 2 minutes, just talent.
Many people will not understand the decision to save Samantha, but I do understand it, this very famous song from the 2000s, is danced at all parties! It's a song to go crazy. I love Ariel, I've been following her for many years and I expected much more, from home said Oh my God's give me mooooore, Samantha was chaos, but Samantha represents me at 5pm drunk giving everything hahaha. She is a mess buttt she's my mess
Juriji sang an aria from the Opera 'Carmen' (my fave) known as the Habenera, but it's real title is 'L'Amour est un Oiseau Rebelle' which translates to 'Love is a Rebellious Bird.' It's basically Carmen talking about the way she views love. Thinking about it, Juriji's runway compliments the theme of the aria she sang.

This is the best talent show on RPDR I have ever seen! I know damn well Ru's assistant watched the hell out of this...twice.
I absolutely love your reactions. This episode is the best we've seen in Drag Race ever. About Samantha, she's an instagram celebrity, so the judges want her in the show as long as they can. It happened the same thing with Pupi Poison last season. It's not fair. That being said, Samantha is receiving a lot of hate through social media because no one understood that she is still in the show, I think she doesn't deserves hate either. I hope judges let go home Samantha soon because they are ruining the good reputation that Samantha had on social media (the reputation that brought her to the competition). Calling Internet stars to participate is not always a good idea.

This doesn't make sense, I am Spanish and Ariel Rec was way more famous and she was huger than Samantha on social media prior to the show, so why the judges would eliminate Ariel if she is more famous than Samantha

I’m so glad DRE lets the performers showcase their talents without heavily influencing them. They can do something serious or kitschy. I think DR USA is too campy and directed for what Ru wants to see.
Btw, if Samantha had pulled that on any other series of DR they would’ve eliminated her already.

You can see that the production is working with the queens and not against them , Ru's franchise they always looks rushed , like they want to film everything in a week and queens need time to prepare and rest!!
Very that. USDR just isn't authentic anymore. Everything about España just feels organic. Largely thanks to the editing not being overly manipulated as we can easily see the scenes and conversations naturally flow and not instigated by producers. Even the way the queens interact with Supremme and the judges is more effervescent, Supremme herself comes across far more genuine than Rupaul.
USDR needs to get off the showboat shenanigans, get back to making a competition and stop over focusing on milking people's trauma.
The girls from the USA, all stars and 14 season need to learn how a talent show is done.
I don't think the judges were living for Samantha's mess in that lipsync... They just want HER to stay because (kinda like Puppy) they love her and she is well know I guess and of course they want to see more of her...

Decision of the judges= choices...
Samantha is this season's Pupi Poisson, saved because of a personal feelings. Ariel may not have been the best, but she definitely wasnt bad and was certainly better than Samantha. AND she 100% did better than Samantha in the lipsync. The wrong person was sent home.

In the U.S. you take your shoes or wig off you automatically lose your lip-sync, but in Spain you take off your wig and multiple pieces of clothing while you dance around like a crazy person and you get to stay. Riggory at it's finest. And such a shame since the episode was perfection otherwise. Adios Ariel, they did you dirty.
Ariel had a very bad case of anxiety. It is said that it was the real reason behind her elimination. Heal first.
Not everything has to be held by the US standards. Samantha gave a full goofy crazy lipsync and made everyone laugh and have a good time... I think in the US people have this idea that there are rules in drag and lipsyncing and when someone steps out of those rules it bothers them, instead of enjoying the moment without prejudices.

After I watched the talent show and the runway, I thought this episode totally deserved non-elimination and top 2 should lipsync.
I agree with the judges on the bottom 3, they were the weakest in the talent show.
Onyx deserved to be in the safe spot with that outfit, but there was no way that the judges did not comment on the outfit so I understood.
The lipsync was terrible, but I'm not mad about Samantha's win.
Even though she was very messy and I'm against de-dragging on stage, Ariel wasn't giving anything anyway and Samantha at least committed to comedy. But she can't get away with it any longer.
My wig was snatched so many times I'm just a headless horseman now.
Sethlas, Juriji, Diamante, Sharonne, Marina and Venedita blew me away with their talent show and Onyx was next level on the runway🔥🔥🔥

What samantha is giving in that lipsync and the reason i think the judges chose her is because she knows how to create an enviroment of craze , happiness and fun.
This is what she does on her shows and im pretty sure if you see a show of her you would have the most fun.

If you liked the Sethlas talent show, you should react to his winning show of las palmas de gran canaria in 2017 and 2020. And Vulcano 2022 winning show too.
Ariel said that her real show couldnt be done. She wanted to do her song mixing it with her plastic arts skills, so it had to be changed last minute. The production gave her the strings and chreo but she was insecure (and having anxiety attacks) because she only had one Day for learning everything and its not her forte. Despite that, her show was pretty good, in another season she would have been safe
As someone said, Ariel is pretty big and well knonw in Spain, she has been always a supporter of local drag, thats the reason everyone was so sad to see her go
I don't know why y'all act so surprised of the talents of spanish drag. Fun fact, Rupaul's Drag Race was actually inspired by the canarian drag queen contest (in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria - Spain), where Ru performed a year before the creation of drag race. Mama Ru... you're welcome =P
