- Drag Race España season 2 Episode 1 Premiere Reaction! We reacted to the full episode of Drag Race Spain season 2 Episode 1 Premiere! The queens each came out for their entrance look and there was some banter going on between some of the queens. The first mini challenge of the season was a photo shoot. The queens had to create a nude illusion look and take photos with the pit crew!! Estrella won the first mini challenge. Then on the main stage the queens had to showcase their home town and pay tribute to them with their looks. They also had to do a look for someone from their home town. It was fun seeing the queens bring light to new people that we were not familiar with. The winner of the first episode was Onyx. The bottom 2 were Samantha Ballentines and Marisa Prisa. The lip sync with them ended in a lot of clothes being removed. The winner of the lip sync was Samantha sending Marisa Prisa home as the first queen to be eliminated. We are so excited for this season and will be reacting to the whole thing! As someone who has Spanish as first language, it's so amazing to see Drag Race España being this iconic, not only the queens but the judges too. Season 1 was iconic and this one looks very very promising ❤❤❤

The lipsync was a complete MESS ✨ Proud of Marina and their ICONIC moment on the runway. Ocaña walked the ramblas street, the most famous one in Barcelona, transvestite and showing his private parts to the shocked pedestrians during the 70s; a time when be homosexual was punished with jail under the dictature of Franco. Iconic LGTBIQ+ artist, iconicly reflected moment by an, from now, iconic dragqueen. It's 10s across the board 💖
Drag Race Espana gives me life and is my favorite series because the girls give us drama without filter but also can be loving of each other, and the fashion is just yards above. I cannot wait to see what more this season brings!
As you seemed a bit confused with Onyx' first look, just keep in mind that Isabel II was the queen of Spain in XIX century and, as Madrid was getting bigger and bigger she made sure the city would have water enough, so she built the hole water system of the city that is still working nowadays. Apart from that, is an esterotypical joke the fact that people from Madrid we always show off about the quality of our tap water.... so it's a really great concept what she brought to the runway, specially if the theme was "queen of your city". 😉 On the other hand, 'the fallen angel' is one of the most famous statues in Madrid and one of the few around the world that are inspired in the devil. Alaksa was actually a judge on last season of Espana, when I googled her i realized she was a judge on season one and i remember they referenced and gagged over last year.

The building that Marina was holding in her hand was La Torre Glòries. It's the tallest modern (2004) building in Barcelona and has a very phallic shape. It was inspired by Gaudí's architecture and the surrounding area. (Gaudí's Sagrada Familia is the tallest and most amazing building in Barcelona. Also Gaudí's other buildings, and Parque Güell in Barcelona are stunning!). La Torre is covered in reflective tiles that change color in different lights and conditions. It really stands out in it's neighborhood of the Barcelona skyline. Dream destination = visit Barcelona again!
The “Montserrat” was The Legendary Spanish opera singer Montserrat Caballe, who had a duet with Freddy Mercury during the Barcelona Olympics in the 90s

The tiger Jota brought was a reference to the spanish diva Lola Flores and her song "Que me coma el tigre". She is one of the most famous figures of Spain and more specifically Andalucia's folklore, which is a big influence in Jota's drag

The Fallen Angel blew the competition out of the water.
I wasn't a fan of the mini challenge, which was similar to US Drag Race Season 7's nude bodysuit runway, although I love the painting it was based on. But I loved the runway presentations.
I have to say camera didn't give any credit to Venedita in her second look. It was entirely made of SHOE SOLES , and they pointed her ...heels...not the suit. Was a fail.

Ok so the Tea about Ms Gloria Trevi is that she was in jail for participating in trafficking people she wasn't the one in charge but she was helping the guy (Sergio Andrade) who did all those vile things to those young girls (she had also been a victim of him as a young girl but still chose to help him out as an adult) and some of the victims have come forward to say that Gloria actually made them participate in a lot of the things that man made them do and He made them go through all kinds of physical, phsycological and s*xual ab*se.

I enjoy these different spin offs but being a lazy American that I am …I have such a hard time with the subtitles because they go so fast. So I watch the subtitles and miss what is actually going on.

Very poor lipsyncing in this episode. It seems drags in Spain do not how to do a popper lip sync!!
Lipsyncs are not held by the absolute rules from Rupaul, we need to embrace all the different styles and personalities of the queens and that means that every queen will perform a lipsync in a different way. Drag shows in Spain can be chaotic, clowney, etc...The most important thing is that people have fun during the lipsync and you can see that, I totally understand that some people might feel uncomfortable but that's the way it is.

It seems that most Latinamerican people are ofended with this lip sync, spanish people not so much, it felt terrible to us, this show how much different our cultures are.
You can also notice that judges weren't getting Glorias jokes or viceversa. This is because Gloria Trevi is mexican, our comedy is just different.
I personally would have sent both home, it was an AWFUL lip sync to this specific song.
This song is very iconic in LGBT culture, it is equiparable with I will survive by Gloria Gaynor or Believe by Cher.
A lot of us have seen drag artist do justice to this song before, this queens did a mock of the song.

Sooo am I the only one completely disgusted that Samantha was in the bottom because she quote “wasn’t funny”…the challenge was represent someone from your hometown and your hometown NOT DO IT IN A COMEDIC WAY.
I think it is ABSOLUTELY UNFAIR just because she is known for funny that she can’t do anything serious or else she will be potentially eliminated for it. I think that lip sync was her making a mockery of the stupid judges for their bs critiques.
I mean a queen wore one of the ugliest outfits I’ve ever seen with a mask that didn’t even look like a horse and her other look was middle of the road but she kept tripping. But because Samantha wasn’t being a clown it was terrible. I DONT KNOW HOW SHE STAYED QUIET AND DIDNT CLAP BACK. Because how I am sure she would have been furious being in the bottom for no other reason than…we know you can be funny and you weren’t at all. Come on monkey dance monkey dance. I felt like Javier Daddy Calvo wasn't too fond of Gloria Trevi... He looked so annoyed every time she talked lol. Wasn't Gloria in jail for people trafficking or something like that? Idk
Yes... Gloria Trevi spent some time in jail for a *very* muddy situation. In short, as far as I remember: her manager and husband (Sergio Andrade) advertized short of a "contest" where he recruited teenagers with the promise to turn them in the next Mexican pop Superstar like he once did with Gloria. The teens and the couple lived in the same house, and there Andrade abused the kids and got several of them pregnant. I heard somewhere that one of the babies died there in veeery strange circumstances, but I'm not sure if that's 100÷ true. The thing blowed up when one of the teen's parents started to think that some things weren't adding up, and after some investigation they were informed that a abandoned baby was registered as being her daughter's. That made everything be known and both adults went to jail for some years. All this happened like +20 years ago. I remember that at that time in Spain it was told in the news (as Trevi was a big star here too) but as far as I remember the more gruesome details were not told. In México, where they are from and everything happened, I suppose that was ( and is?) a much bigger deal.
So yes... there are plenty reasons why a person allegedly could be not the most confortable with her around. It having happened several decades ago in another country, I think also justifies why many younger people could not know about this, and only know of Gloria Trevi as the musical icon she was and still is.
