@@dalmaraz61 You just have to be very careful. Unlike a strat, the CE 24 doesn't have a pickguard to use as a reference. You have to eyeball it, and pay attention to the 2 E strings, on either side of the fingerboard at the last fret, and make sure they're equally spaced, in reference to the sides of the fingerboard. Also watch how the 2 E strings line up over their polepieces of the bridge pickup. With that in mind, I really had no trouble at all. Make sure to use the "Narrow Spaced" Floyd Rose Rail Tail.
Do not ingore the "dive only part" you floaters will not work around this device, Just got this for anyone interested, The sustain is crazy compared to the strat 6/2 point even the Vega trem sounds brittle vs the rail cause the rails bridge and block is beefy and heavy but yet compact which sounds amazing, It comes back to tune very well from a dive with tightened springs but "buyer beware" do not buy this with a innovative mindset that you could possibly make this float like you would your 6/2points cause it will be a whole step off " not exaggerating" I could dive in E standard and be in D tuning with one dive on a float cause that rail system wont allow it regardless of lube or perfect nut slots or stretched strings.. They are not kidding with the float part
The centering of the tremolo should be relative to the neck and not the pick guard cutout. The assumption in the video is the pick guard is centered relative to the neck, which may or may not be true.
I still have never seen anyone actually demo this trem and actually play a guitar with it installed...why not at least demo it for a few mins in this vid??

GEAR ADVICE! PLEASE? In theory though; You COULD set this up to push down and pull back on it right? But you’d have to modify the body wouldn’t you? Because I think if I can router the body a bit to recess the area like on the Ibanez JEM, the pull back would be possible. What do you think? Possible? If so I’ll do it, I’m working with a body that’s not even a big deal. I scored a used guitar for $90 from someone who gave up playing and the guitar WAS worth $300 something when it was new, but he modded it and didn’t know what he was doing. So this guitar is a donor body, I got it for modding, and I’m not limited to what I’m willing to do with it to push its limits. I don’t care about the wood or the serial number or none of that, I care about performance and tone. This is meant to be a monster machine that I can take the parts out of and build again with another guitar. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated because I’m fitting a custom Stone Tone block fitted specifically FOR this tremelo system which will be attached to the Tone Claw which is a great product!

There is two big improvement that could be made easy to this system - floating and height. Somebody could make a height spacer under the Rail. This spacer could be screw down by the outside screws. This would do two things, keep your saddles from rattling from being adjusted to height, and lastly it would allow you Float. I hope to see this in the future or hear what Floyd Rose thinks.
hi , amazing video , but should be the bridge 90° to the studs ? many users say the floyd rose should be parallel to the body , may i know the true ? thanks!

In the future you will have to clean off the old grease and add new grease. And over time it can be a dirt collector. It will be a high priority maintenance procedure that you must perform. So get some extra grease with it.
Not at all. The lubrication provided is a hi-quality synthetic grease with PTFE (Teflon) The Rail is never fully exposed. Unless you're gig'n underwater or in a desert, the first application will last for years.
Will this work on an Indonesian Strat? The body is slimmer and it can't use the standard 42mm blocks that the normal strats use; it would have to be a shorter block like 32mm
I think the "Super-Vee" tremolo is so much better. You can dive bomb and pull back. Plus you don't have to disassemble anything, just remove the old trem, and screw the Super-Vee in all the way as if you're making your trem a hard tail (you won't). Replace springs, strings and dive bomb or pull back to your heart's content. Locking tuners are recommended.
From my experience this is a dive only (semi hard tail) Tremolo with an aligned pivot action so home position is resting on the top of the guitar, it is not floating, which is good for tuning stability. Generally the guitar is used for occasional Tremolo dives, so staying in tune is set as a higher priority than the use of the Tremolo. The number of springs used and the claw extend position is a force balance preference, but always done with the tail resting on the guitar . I think most players bending strings with this setup will tend to have a fair amount of force to move the Tremolo. So you may ask why buy it? There are several advantages over the factor Tremolo. For example: The string break points are smooth without binding which helps with dives and intonation. The pivot action means the tremolo is always square to the guitar body. The strings are actually located on the tremolo so they cannot move, like the stock tremolo just using a bended surface, this constantly locates the strings during dives and sets a equal and consistent string to string spacing. If the player does not want to use the tremolo for a specific performance or recording you can just add more springs and remove the bar, which turns it into a hard tail-stop.
Unlike a beveled edge or 2 point knife-edge design, the large surface contact area between the Rail and Tremolo plate prevents it from achieving that crucial balance point when floating. While there is a major gain in tonal qualities and sustain, the downside, unfortunately, is the added friction that doesn't allow it to be set up to float and maintain pitch accurately.
Unfortunately the large surface contact area between the Rail and Tremolo plate prevents it from achieving that crucial balance point when floating. The trade off is getting the feel, sound and reliability of a direct mounted hard tail bridge with the option to have a little fun with some massive dive bombs.
It's a good idea to use a metal cylindrical finger instead of fixing it on 2 bolts and 2 sharp edges It turns out much more practical and durable. + Make a 6-8 string original floyd such and fixing the springs as on the model FRX. It will not be necessary to make a large cutout in the body
what holds this thing together - the opposing tension of the springs and the strings? it just seems like it would fly apart. The bridge itself is just sitting on top of the bar, not truly captive.
I can install this on something besides a Srat, right? Provided of course the dimensions jive... I got a Jackson with a 2 point hardtail Id like to upgrade a bit. String spacing 52mm, so the narrow should work, right? lol
Wish the channels in the block were more shallow with the ball ends closer to the holes. Don’t like how the block is beveled like the powered metal Strat blocks.
Put one on my strat added locking tuners, and have LSR nut . Still goes sharp after I dive. Bend the string and it moves down so it must be getting caught somewhere but every contact point it lubed. 2/5 for this product it just doesn’t stay in tune any better the the vintage trem I had.
If the bridge is moving when you bend a string, the springs are not tight enough. Run the claws screws in until the bridge stays on the body when you bend. I hope that helps.
I installed one of these in my Baretta Special. The bridge is slamming against the rail when coming back from dive bombing. I see the it is dislocating from the rail in the nipple portion and then falling back into place again. I don’t know if it needs more lube, or more or less tension on the springs. I guess I’ll keep trying...
Sorry to hear you are experiencing some issues. It sounds like the sustain block is hitting the cavity wall. This can cause the tremolo plate to lift off the rail while seated. Check to make sure you have adequate clearance in that area and other areas of the string block. You will have to remove the saddles and slide the sustain block back slightly. The spacer card in the kit can help you achieve the 1/32"(1mm) clearance that's recommended.
Unfortunately the large surface contact area between the Rail and Tremolo plate prevents it from achieving that crucial balance point when floating. The trade off is getting the feel, sound and reliability of a direct mounted hard tail bridge with the option to have a little fun with some massive dive bombs.
Hi, I am cnsidering to replace my tremolo bridge on my Squier Affinity series purchased on 1998, with this tremolo. I have no idea which one is that fits on my guitar, the wide or the narrow spacing saddles. Can you help me, please? Thank you.
The narrow spacing should do it. To be 100% sure it's always best to measure the distance between the 1st and 6th string. (E to e) Narrow = 2 1/16" - Wide = 2 7/32"
Can you help me out? I installed one of these on a Warmoth partcaster. It has a well cut tusq nut, fender locking tuners, I installed everything as described in this video and the manual, but for some reason, when I dive, my low E always comes in sharp. I then stretch the string and it comes back to tune. I made sure I fully stretched my strings before using the trem but this just keeps happening. I'm using elixir 10-46 strings. I have lubed plenty the rail surface as well as the nut. I dont know what am I doing wrong. Please help me out
There are a few variables that may cause this when it comes to non-locking tremolos such as nut clearance, string gauge, and brand, saddle friction, playing style etc. Here are a few suggestions: 1.) Double check the nut to make sure it's not pinching the string. You can use a sharpie to mark it at the nut, dive the bar and see if the string comes back to the same position. If it doesn't, you will have to open up the slot to allow the string to glide back and forth freely. 2.) Stretch the strings out by pulling them up lightly or using the 2 hand method. The windings around the ball end will always have a little room to settle when they are fresh. This could vary between brands and string gauge 3.) Dive the bar then tune. If strings go out of tune slightly during massive bends, a slight dip on the bar will put it back in pitch just like any other non-locking tremolo system. Hope this helps.

While there is a major gain in tonal qualities and sustain, the downside, unfortunately, is the added friction that doesn't allow it to be set up to float.
How is it different than a Fender style tremolo? I'm considering this for my strat just because I love your Trems, but it seems identical to a Strat trem.
Unlike the original tremolo design that rocks on a bevel located under the screw heads, the Rail Tail tremolo plate rotates around a precision rail that is mounted directly to the guitar body.
@@LuciFernato not obviously, Fender likes to slightly change things very slightly on their Squiers so you can't put Fender parts on Squier guitars quite as easily
It’s mostly the pickguard and sometimes I heard the neck heel can be a little wider on squires, everything else is pretty much the same. If you want to install this into any 6 point style Strat make sure you know if you need narrow or wide spacing, you can just google it. All squires made after the 90’s I believe require the narrow one, so to answer the question, yes it will fit a squire perfectly so as long as you install it correctly.
No, not at all. The first grease application done correctly should last years. It's just stated that it's not a bad idea once in a while to have a quick look that there is still even coverage to ensure optimum performance and protect the finish on the mating parts.
Correct. 3:14 shows how the rail can be adjusted laterally to fit both narrow and wide-spaced bodies as well as anything in between such as PRS spacing.
@@officialfloydrose5849 And if i have an SD Trembucker in the bridge, which is pretty much the same spacing (52mm/52.50mm) as the narrow model, am i good to go with the narrow, or would it be smarter to get the wide, since the strings are a little wider at the bridge than at the pickup?
Measure the distance between the 1st E string and the 6th E string. The Narrow spacing is 2 1/16" or 52mm and Wide spacing is 2 7/32" or 56mm. If your tremolo spacing is somewhere in between, either one will work fine. It depends on your preference.
Sure it may be good, but let's face reality, who in the hell can afford this, let's get BACK to reality folks!!!!! My experience of having used many types of trembolos (except this one) I feel that the nice thing about having a trembolo is that it floats and having the play up & down!!! Makes a huge difference!!!! And not having a trem system just to dive...
That's a killer looking trem but I don't understand why all trems don't come with locking nuts. There is no way keep a guitar with a trem in tune for a long period of time without a locking nut. I love the sound and feel of Strats but I'm usually playing my Charvels or Ibanez guitars because they have locking nuts and stay in tune forever. That being said I have retrofitted Strats with locking nuts and it really makes all the difference, I bet if you did that in conjunction with this Trem it would play and sound great.
Tell that to Wilkinson... It’s 2021 buddy, the old guitar clichés are all gone. If your strat has a Fender tremolo, or any other cheap and shitty trem, of course it won’t stay in tune as long as the Charvel and Ibanez. Try this, or a Gotoh, a Wilkinson or a Hipshot, and tell me again it doesn’t stay in tune as well as your locking nut guitars
This is the best non locking tremolo ever made!
Nope.
Nicht für mich, ich brauche es schwebend.
If you want your strat hardtail style, absolutely!
That is simply not truth: it cannot set floating and it doesn't have two posts to set the bridge height... which makes it a dumb idea.

While there is a major gain in tonal qualities and sustain, the downside, unfortunately, is the added friction that doesn't allow it to be set up to float and maintain pitch accurately.
Just curious...installing a Floyd Rail Tail onto a PRS? will it fit & work? if yes pls make a video installation
The tremolo plate, string block , rail and saddles are CNC machined from solid brass billet. Very high quality bridge.
If you were to recess mount this could you make it float? I'm not wild about dive only trems...they are kind of pointless.
Unfortunately the large surface contact area between the Rail and
Tremolo plate prevents it from achieving that crucial balance point
when floating. The trade off is getting the feel, sound and reliability
of a direct mounted hard tail bridge with the option to have a little
fun with some massive dive bombs.
No doubt that a direct contact trem is probably going to sound fuller and have more sustain compared to a floating trem just from physics alone.

what holds this thing together - the opposing tension of the springs and the strings? it just seems like it would fly apart. The bridge itself is just sitting on top of the bar, not truly captive.
You have to take it all apart and grease it every time you change the strings?
What size Allen key should I use to tighten the whammy bar - it’s too lose
How do you know which one you need ie wide vs narrow?
Measure string spacing from low E to high E: narrow is 52.5mm , wide is 54mm .
but can you replace your normal floating tremolo system say on a jackson v or jackson rhoads???
I was wondering the same thing as I've a floating Floyd Rose bridge in need of replacing.. Like you I was wondering if this bridge would fit.
Is there any reason not to use the conversion card as a drilling jig?

Can someone who has one tell me if there is any pot metal on this bridge, or is it all hardened steel. Thanks
Why do you have to keep it decked? Why cant it float like a normal strat trem?
Unfortunately the large surface contact area between the Rail and Tremolo plate prevents it from achieving that crucial balance point when floating. The trade off is getting the feel, sound and reliability of a direct mounted hard tail bridge with the option to have a little fun with some massive dive bombs.
Would like to know what material the block is made of. Can't find that info in the video or the product page.
The block, saddles, rail and tremolo plate are all CNC machined from solid brass.
Can this work on let’s Paul’s?
What you're probably looking for is the Floyd Rose FRX which is a direct swap for a Tune-O-Matic style bridge.
can i put a no fine tuner in my two post strat?
has there been a left handed version yet?
Yes
@@MarioHernandez-zc7dv please provide a link as i have not seen a left handed rail tail yet. perhaps im not looking hard enough??
Does it suitable for prs cs24?
You mentioned it's a dive only trem, but if I could do a modification on the body, it is possible to use it for floating system?
Unlike a beveled edge or 2 point knife-edge design, the large surface contact area between the Rail and Tremolo plate prevents it from achieving that crucial balance point when floating. While there is a major gain in tonal qualities and sustain, the downside, unfortunately, is the added friction that doesn't allow it to be set up to float.
How is it different than a Fender style tremolo? I'm considering this for my strat just because I love your Trems, but it seems identical to a Strat trem.
Unlike the original tremolo design that rocks on a bevel located
under the screw heads, the Rail Tail tremolo plate rotates around a
precision rail that is mounted directly to the guitar body.
Oh okay, thanks for the reply, I'll look into it! I love the Floyd Rose Original and have it on a lot of my guitars, keep up the great work!
It's different because you can only bend down.
I know, it doesn't make sense.
Would this fit on a Squire strat?
Kill Bon Jovi obviously, yes
@@LuciFernato not obviously, Fender likes to slightly change things very slightly on their Squiers so you can't put Fender parts on Squier guitars quite as easily
Paul Blart Mall Cop just alter the pickguard then?
Lars Darrell the pickguard isn’t the only thing you might have to mess with to get it to fit
So do you not need to install a locking nut?
A locking nut is not required however locking tuners and a quality nut is recommended for optimum performance.
Sweet!
@official floyd rose : can I upgrade to a Floyd rose from a special without modeifying the guitar
Yep
So u gotta take it all apart and grease it everytime u change strings??!!
No, not at all. The first grease application done correctly should last years. It's just stated that it's not a bad idea once in a while to have a quick look that there is still even coverage to ensure optimum performance and protect the finish on the mating parts.
@@officialfloydrose5849 got it! Thanks for the prompt reply. Im getting one!
So i can get the narrow 2 1/16 model even if the spacing on the body is wide 2 7/32?
How do you know if your guitar uses the narrow or the wide version?
Measure the distance between the 1st E string and the 6th E string. The Narrow spacing is 2 1/16" or 52mm and Wide spacing is 2 7/32" or 56mm. If your tremolo spacing is somewhere in between, either one will work fine. It depends on your preference.
'Steel the light' :o
can this be installed in to a PRS SE custom 24?
If it's a 6-point system, then yes. The narrow spacing is recommended.
possible can u make a video installation on PRS SE? 😁
sure does seems like a pain in the ass in install
Sure it may be good, but let's face reality, who in the hell can afford this, let's get BACK to reality folks!!!!!
My experience of having used many types of trembolos (except this one) I feel that the nice thing about having a trembolo is that it floats and having the play up & down!!! Makes a huge difference!!!! And not having a trem system just to dive...
can this be installed on PRS SE?
Any that has a similar trem
where to get conversion cart? To install on 2 point tremolo?
It's included in the kit. 2 point install instructions can be found here 10:00
@@officialfloydrose5849 Ya but...no way am I drilling holes in my nice two point trem USA Strat...sorry, that's a no no for me.
VERY COOL BUT I DONT KNOW ABOUT DRILLING 2.0 SYSTEMBUT IT COOL FOR TRADITIONAL STAT U DONT HAVE TO DRILL TYHE GUITAR VERY COOL
Whats a Trem-Ello?
I guess that a Tremendo must be something like a tremendous tremolo or so. 🤣😂🤣
Ello !
Where can I find some trem mate?!
Can I float it? Up and Down action?
No. It’s not meant to be like an actual Floyd Rose
@@TMK8908 I got a Vega Trem. It uses the hole already in the body of the strat. It's thin enough, and is amazing.
Do they come in lefties?
Not yet but hopefully soon.
It looks like precision work and NOT for an unfamiliar user of Floyd Rose type tremolos...
Is it better than Kahler? can flutter?
Cashpocket its completely different than a kahler...
trem needs to be floating to flutter, so no
Will it fit squier?
Yes. The narrow spaced Rail Tail should be able to drop in without any issues.
Locking tuners have replaced locking nuts. Easier to use. No wrench to misplace. 😁
I never saw that type of Floyd rose is it a floating one?
No. Full contact.
