    --------------
I was unable to install my Delta Faucet Lyndall 24” towel bar because of problems with the Quick Click mounting system. The cheapness of the included drywall anchors doesn’t help. I know there are videos of people successfully installing Delta towel bars with this system, but this video explains the trouble I had with this fussy design.

One of our quick clip brackets broke. Does anyone know what the part number is for this mounting bracket?

The chinese slave labor that delta uses aren't capable of properly installing a set screw into the plate, so they came up with something a child slave could build.

Piece of crap! Messed with it for an hour and the bracket finally broke. I'm on hold with Delta Liberty Hardware right now. I bought the Lyndall toilet paper holder LDL50-PC. I'm so angry! I made two holes in my new vanity to mount it, went to the hardware store because wood screws were NOT included (just drywall mounting hardware), and now vanity is ruined unless I can patch it or get another tp holder that needs holes in the same place. GRRRRRRRRRR!

You have the bracket backwards bud. Flip it around and it'll click in easy

No, it's correct. The side of the bracket that faces away from the wall has markings, and the backside doesn't. Here we are looking at the whole thing from the back.

Spent over an hour getting everything lined up and evenly spaced and the stupid mounts wouldn't go on the spring clips. Ended up pressing up so hard that I tore the anchor out of the wall. Now I have to patch the wall and return everything. What a horrible design. I can't believe they are still selling these things.

I just lurches the same towel bar and a couple of hooks. Unfortunately, it came only with screw in drywall anchors which does me no good as I have tile, so I have to go buy regular plugs to set the plate. But, I’m looking at the plate and instead of the normal plate/set screw design, I see the metal loops so I started looking at the instructions and figured I’d come to RUclips to see how the bar gets mounted and came across this. Now, I’m concerned and thinking if I should return mine or not. I can’t just patch up the holes if it doesn’t work out. Bummer, but thanks for sharing your thoughts.

This is one project I'm happy I didn't rush into. As I taped the template to the wall and took a good look at how the towel bar ends are supposed to attach to the bracket, I realized I might be able to get one end piece attached to the bracket (that was before I watched your video) - but there was no way I'd be able to attach the second end piece into the first while holding the towel bar in place while trying to force the end piece onto the bracket. The Delta video shows how to attach a toilet paper holder - for criminy sakes that has a collapsible bar and is no comparison to the 24" towel bar. Yep, returning 'em. Many thanks for the video!!

Lol. Three years ago, I purchased Delta’s Warlow collection. I finally got around having a major bathroom due to water damage. The contractors completed all the insurance work, and installed the towel bars, faucet, and toilet paper holder. I told them not to do the robe hook on the back of the door, and I’d do it later after I got a new door.
Well that happened this weekend. After much deliberation I finally decided I would just go buy some command performance hooks cause I was scared I’d tear up my door trying install this product.
Then I decided to see if I could fine a video on installing this damn Delta product and I stumbled on to your video. OH MY GOD thank you for this. You confirmed my decision to NOT try to install this product. What the &$#%!!!! Installing a robe hook should not be made this difficult.
At least you can take yours back. I purchased this Delta collection from Lowe’s, and the Warlow collection has been discontinued.

I have the same towel bars and robe hook (different hardware) and realized both anchors would not work drilled in together. So use regular (smaller anchors). A large blue one on the top hole and a smaller one (yellow)on the bottom-it worked! Have installed 2 towel bars and one robe hook from the Lyndall collection. I did drill into a stud for the robe hook though. 😅

    • @dougfishback3116

The spring is still in there, so you'd push up on the bar to compress the springs again and rotate the bar outward to clear the anchor.

  • @skaizun

The problem is in the way the mount goes into the spring clip. You will not be able to do it straight in as shown in the vid, which is not what the directions say. The mount needs to be inserted at an angle to the spring to give more leverage. Here's a vid showing how it's done: ruclips.net/video/IZwK9eMpCYE/видео.html. FWIW, I've installed three of these, including towel bars with two springs each, and had trouble only with the first one. Once I figured it out for the first one (without the vid link I gave, mind you!), the next two were much easier. As for the anchors, I don't know what you did to break them, but, you're supposed to stop turning the screwdriver when you feel resistance; never use a drill screwdriver, including a Dremel, because you won't feel the resistance until it's too late. Always best to follow directions! When in doubt, search the 'net for help (e.g., "install delta towel bar" without the quotes; substitute "delta" for your mfr, and "towel bar" for whatever you're installing); you'd be surprised at what's out there to aid the DIY'er! (n.b., most directions/packages have the mfr's website listed, which, often, have a customer support page with specifics for your project, and, sometimes, even step-by-step vids and guides and manuals!)

This trick worked for me. I was also very frustrated until trying this. Thank you for finding the link. The combination of the compression plus the angle seems to be the trick. Doing only one without the other does not work. I wonder if I will be able to remember the tricks a few years from now, when the thing inevitably loosens again?

I found it easy to install and mount! Took my time installing the anchors in the drywall. I use it to hang a towel next to the shower. I think it's a great design. Easy to put on and easy to remove.

My toilet paper holder with the same design went pretty easy for me as well but somebody put weight on it and it's separating from the wall a smidge. I cannot get this thing off the bracket for anything. I'm trying not to destroy my wall but at this point it seems unavoidable.

    • @gasoven3759
      @gasoven3759 Год назад

@@robertyanez4671 I think you push up, then pull away from the wall from the bottom edge of the mount?
