    Puts the same type of anchor back in 🤦. Basically, if you ever install a towel rack, ring, bar, whatever into drywall-- anything that is going to do anything other than sit pretty, but will instead be getting a lot of tugging and shifting (like a towel ring), the first thing to do is throw those crappy drywall inserts that came with the ring in the trash. Now, use a toggle anchor. Boom. No more issues. Same if you're trying to reuse the same spot after the crappy inserts ripped out: use a toggle

    What do you do if you already had those wide blunt plastic screws (that you used in this fix) to begin with and they ripped out a part/chunk of the drywall? Fix the whole section with a patch piece? Are toggle anchors stronger than the plastic ones you used here?

    • @MRGREGSHOWTO
      @MRGREGSHOWTO  Год назад +1

      Howdy partner! If the hole is bigger than a quarter you may need to cut and patch. For smaller hole patch jobs, try backfilling the hole with wadded up paper towels or toilet paper and then covering in lightweight spackle. The metal wing toggle anchors are stronger and very large. You can probably install one in this case to get it fixed. Best of luck to you!

      I chopped a few pieces of wood kindling into slightly bigger than toothpick size pieces, used a bunch of those along with a bit of wood glue and spackle to fill in the hole, waited for it to dry, and the screws are super solid now. For those of you who don’t have bigger anchors on hand.

    • @MRGREGSHOWTO
      @MRGREGSHOWTO  3 месяца назад +1

      Howdy, partner! Sounds like your set screw isn't catching. Try reattaching the little screw and you should instantly feel it holding the bracket onto the wall. Hope that helps!
