I've had to do a lot of repairs like this but have never seen a hack like this! With the reinforcement inside the wall, that will be a sturdy rack! Very impressive.
Brilliant! I knew if I searched long enough I would find someone who has had the same problem. I like the idea of using the aluminum strip for reinforcement.
Just for your future work in same situation behind the sheetrok - instead of regular wood, better to use 1/2"-3/4" thick and 3/4'-1" wide strip of plywood. It will be much stronger and free of splitting by using wood screws.
The best way to repair this without repositioning the towel bar because of equal spacing is to cut out the broken out drywall and place a wood backing strip where the towel bar base was originally mounted , then screw the backing to the drywall then place the new drywall to the backing , then after the patch is sanded and textured painted re attach your towel bar to its original position with wood screws hitting the wood strip backing behind the drywall, this is super easy and the towel bar will be secure!
I spent several days trying to fix my towel rail. Last Saturday, October 26, 2019, I saw your procedure and followed it, step by step and I was fabulous. Thanks for the class. By the way, I really liked the melody that you put in the background of your video, I searched for it and the melody finders can't find it. Could you please tell me the name of the melody and who plays it? Thank you, Jesús.
You prolly dont give a shit but does someone know a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost my account password. I would appreciate any help you can give me!
@Holden Crew I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
If you have plan to install/reinstall to the not damaged spot of wall sheetrok, then use a Toggle Bolt. www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-8-in-x-3-in-Zinc-Plated-Steel-Mushroom-Head-Phillips-Toggle-Bolts-with-Screws-25-Pack-803902/204274390
Will this work for bathroom shelf. On one side, the wall plug failed and left same size hole you had when I pulled out the plug. I really do want to re-use the holes so I can put a new shelf in the same spot. Do you think this is strong enough to do that?
Spray some Good Stuff expanding foam in the hole.Quickly put anchors in.Secure with painter's tape.Wait 2 hours.Remove tape from anchors.Should be sturdy to put towel rack.
Because without using a voltage detector how do you know which way the wires are running, assuming they’re either up or down? Wouldn’t just smash screws straight in either.
But why not just put a peice of wood behind it put new cut peice of drywall in hole and mud I literally just had to do this this way lools alot harder!!!
@@apex007 1x3 wood? So I would need to make a hole much-much bigger? Than patch, texture, primer and paint a hole wall. I think it will be 4 Hours work and at list 3 time drive to this house!!! Instead of this method - one my visit and 1 hour labor.

Using a wood base and just screwing it to the wall is way easier believe me I do this all the time , same principle but my way is faster

Extraordinary fix. A lot of work, but definitely proper. Id like to know that this gentleman does for a living.
What he does for a living? He makes RUclips videos on how to fix loose towel racks... BAAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAH!!
We sell this tower holder on Amazon.Do you want a free sample.pls contact me 😌

Why waste so much work when he could've just bought a new house? That would've fixed the problem.

I will fix holes on my wall following these steps! Thanks.

nice. thanks... edit: just did this but with a piece of wood instead of metal and its a great idea. thanks again

You're welcome!
So nice and very concise, thank you. Sir
Great job!
Wow unusual repair!

@Kye Terrance happy to help :D
Dobra robota.
Дякую!
Nice. Thanks for the ideas!
Glad you like it!
Very nice. Why the metal. Can I use wood the same way
Wood can be splitting by the screw. At list you can use plywood 1/2" thick × 3/4" wide and predrill holes for screws.
Excellent.
Many thanks!
Good job 👏
My Mohen towel bars were instilled by pros who remodeled our bathroom. Within months a couple came lose. The shallow "mollies[s?] were junk.
Brilliant!

While VERY effective, not so sure this is a 'hack' lol.... Looks secure tho! :)
Is it strong enough for me do drill a whole and reinstall the towell bar with an anchor?

Personally I never install shelf on sheetrok. Into wood/metal studs only. Shelf and staff on it heavy, I think sheetrok can't hold the weight.
Amazing lesson. Thank you.
Glad was helped you.
Great!!!!!

You could of made it look lots better underneath maybe sand it or paint it. I appreciate the video but not to sure if that would be solid.

Foam? Seriously? No thanks, i like to do my work one time and no call back from my customers.
PERFECT!!!
Thanks!

Yes!!!!
This method is good but too much work its easier with a wood strip backing, I do this stuff for a living since 81
Wouldn’t fancy drilling above that electric switch.

My Dad would flip out if he saw a wood chisel being used as a putty knife!
I would glad to have it, but they didn't make and sell 3/4"-1".

Уже чем 1.5" дюйма (40 мм) и не встречал в продаже. А стамеска 3/4" (20 мм). Вот и пришлось ей.

Wood is easier
Wood piece of same size as aluminum strip, would not have enough meat to hold it reliably.
@@BlahBlahManYeah slightly thicker or longer 1x3 would be fine. It's not holding anything heavy
