      I would love to see a video utilizing Judo pins/ hold downs for nogi (as staging points for attack). - ... how can we best substitute, say, belt grips (etc) to fit nogi? Secondly, a video focusing on kazushi for nogi-Judo throws and counter throws. Thank you for giving us so much; I love your content.

    Love the vid. However…
    Your Tani Otoshi (Valley Drop) became a Sukui Nage (Scooping Throw).
    The osoto gari variation is actually a harai goshi (sweeping hip throw). As evidenced by the use of your sweeping hip, literally. O Soto Gari means, major outer reap and the hip has no action in “sweeping”, it’s an outside leg reap.
    Not that big of a deal, it either takes them down or it doesn’t, but in the world of judo the name fits an action. Like the difference between a single leg and a double leg.
    Greta job guys!

    No. 5 is kouchi makikomi, it would be kouchi gari if you just sweep the foot
    But your technique looks Very good

    Is there a different name for Kouchi Gari when you're committing down as opposed to just blocking the foot and pushing them back? Also, do you like this better than just the foot block?

    Is number 4 not a Harai goshi? Just curious

      Sometimes you can do the osoto gari a bit oblique
      It would be harai goshi if his attacking leg would be higher but it looks very similar

    you guys are unaware of judo or wrestling terminology. You should learn the names of the throws you are showing. Not saying your doing it wrong, your just using the wrong names. Normally its the other way around.

    • @mmongiello722
      @mmongiello722 Год назад +1

      @@Kchickenwa the tani otosh that you allow is more like sukui- nage. And the variation of osoto is actully a variation of Hari goshi, but they are similar. I have never herd under hook used to discribe grabing somone around the waist, but that might be just a geographical language thing.

      @@mmongiello722yeah usually our gym just calls it "hugging" the waist or just wrapping.
