A Smith My family lived in Naples for 3 years. That was 25 years ago. I left my heart there and if I could take my children and their families back to live I wouldn't hesitate. Though it's changed a great deal since I lived there. The people are so wonderful. My children were embraced and treated like grandchildren by our landlord. I hope you get to visit one day.
IT's really a very nice video! As official local tour guide in naples I felt proud some english video shows my city so good! I'd have many advises to give as I do to my tourists! :)
It stands to reason that a guy whose native language is obviously NOT italian, to have not a perfect pronunciation, right ? No offense, but your comment is stupid. If i ask you to pronounce some words and cities in my language, i would also laugh at you, be sure.
I wasn´t laughing at him. I wrote this comment because i was upset! His pronunciation wasn´t just lightly incorrect but TOTALLY wrong! I think that if someone is paid for being the speaker of a documentary, he should at least make the effort to be informed about some basic (in this case italian) words. With our technology even a 8 years old child would be able to do that, that´s why this is inadmissible! I made a comment on a video that actually looked pretty well done and unusual, but this mistakes ruined everything. Anyway, if I make mistakes on the pronunciation of foreign words, who cares? That´s not my job.
G.Boss, What is annoying is that Italian next to Spanish is the easiest European language to learn and the pronunciation is almost completely phonetic, I know because I speak both languages fluently. Yet the same foreign speakers butcher the language horribly; yet have them pronounce some less common language like Hungarian or some minor Slavic language and they will pronounce it as would a native of that language. If someone is going to narrate such a video as this, he or she should at least learn to properly pronounce the places named. It is insulting to hear every Italian name so horribly butchered especially since the Italian language is the world's most beautiful of all. May I add, your response is stupid not that of Giuseppe Fiore.
Giuseppe Fiore. You are right and there is no excuse for it. I've done a series of voice overs of travel videos of Italian cities and to do it right you do your home-work, you research the language and you double-check every place-name or name of prominent people before you record. It's voice over basics!!
It’s an awful guide with a guy that has not learnt to speak correctly in English or Italian. Goodness knows how he got the job of talking during such an awful film.
Wonderful city!!!! Loved it.
My family's from Naples and Calabria. Croce my father's side, Laudano my mother's side. I've been to Venice and Milan. One day I will visit Naples.
