An outlaw wasn't going to be taken alive and his woman didn't want to live without her man
BP,you did a review of Patsy Cline Crazy. Willy wrote it.
Great now you gave the whole thing away and ruined it.
In the right time period, it could also be an escaped slave. Either way, it's about freedom and love.
Listen to Marty Robbins "El Paso"
I’m sitting on my front porch, Sunday morning, crying like a baby. Ohhh. 😢 This reminds me of my Papa. He LOVED Ray Charles and this song. He never knew how to use his tape player so I bought him this tape & showed him how to use it. It was a single. He’d sit in their garage and listen over & over. I gave it to him in 1990 & he went to be with Jesus in 1995. 4 1/2 years he’d listen to this & told me it was the best gift he ever received except my Nannie. Thank you for bringing this special memory back 😢😢😢. ♥️my Papa!
And now I'm sitting here on Sunday afternoon crying after reading your comment! What a beautiful memory! Thanks for sharing!❤
🧡
Sunday evening on my porch with tears in my eyes❤
You're a wonderful daughter
Legendary! This song is so beautiful and a testament to true talent. These 2 considered each other brothers. My favorite Willie song is "Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground.". It gets me every time 😢😢😢
Listen to Willie Nelson. Blue eyes crying in the rain.
From the album Red Headed Stranger.
Willie made a movie about it
👍
One of my brothers favorites!
Did you ever hear of Pinkard and Bowden's parody of that song titled Blue Hairs Driving in my Lane? 8)
They clipped it to early. In the outro Willie says to Ray "OK let's rap this up and get out of here". Then Ray answers with "Sounds good. I'll drive".
the advent of the self-driving car..:)
You don’t need history, sweetie. It’s a sweet story of an outlaw and his loving woman. They had a love so strong, they will ride forever together with angels in Heaven.
And the youngin in the red hat is trying soooo hard to understand.
Two beautiful singers that will never be duplicated or copied.
Have you ever heard Willie's son singing? It's crazy how much he sounds like his father.
Lukas Nelson

Decades later, Willie had a musical Birthday party, his 80th...and special guests , sang tribute....Ray was months away from passing, and in ill health...yet he made the show. and sang to Willie, on stage....and the tears in Willie's eyes, as he listened to his friend sing....is priceless.
" A song for you"...is the title. Please react. ❤
Yes!! That is an absolute tear jerker
Just saw Willie in concert on the April 24th! He's on the road again and he'll be 91 on April 29th. Check out "Angel Flying Too Close to the Ground." RIP Ray 💚🤙🏼

Dude l know you don't take requests, but if you liked this you will love Marty Robbins El Paso. Now this is the first of three songs. The second is Felina, and the third is El Paso City. I promise you won't be disappointed.
@BP, I second this. You would like Marty Robbins, specifically this set of 3 songs. Like REN story telling, but a lonnggggg time ago!
Ditto what @danmadison1244 said! Marty Robins "EL PASO" and the two follow-ups. Or any of Marty Robbins Gunfighter Ballads! But definitely "El Paso"!
Agreed! Marty Robbins
No Colorado was stolen from Mexico at gunpoint.not part of Louisiana purchase
Willie collaborated with EVERYBODY in every genre
My dad maintains that you haven't made it as a singer till you sing with Willie. Imagine my joy to call and tell him Snoop Dee-Oh-Double-Gee made it.
His Stardust album showed his versatility brilliantly.
In 1962, Ray Charles recorded his album, “Modern Sounds In Country And Western Music”, which reached “Number One” on what was then The Billboard 200 Album Chart.
Country music was an important part of Ray Charles’ musical repertoire. He was posthumously inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame in 2021.
I'm 82 and I've always been a Ray Charles fan. There will never be another like Ray Charles. Love this song.
Man Ray put this song together as a country hit. Its a story about love.
Willie is an ICON. This song is one that went to the top and is well loved.
Willie Nelson, Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain!
Blue Hairs Driving In My Lane 8-)
My son's cousin, Eddie Setser co-wrote this song as well as many other country hits. Born in Corbin, Ky and raised in Cinn., Eddie was a great guitarist and song writer. I believe he passed away in 2020 at the age of 77. RIP brother.
This was my Mama's favorite song. During the last few months of her life, she forgot the song. Mama passed a little over a month ago. This reaction video was bittersweet.
When Ray Charles says seven Spanish Angels took another angel home I get goosebumps every single time
The song was written by Ray. The part of Colorado where you live used to be part of Texas. He is an outlaw and the posse is coming.
The song was written by Troy Seals and Eddie Setser.
Seven Spanish Angels” was conceived as a tribute to the iconic Marty Robbins’ Tejano-flavored classics. This lyrical masterpiece takes us into the world of an outlaw and his lover, racing against time and circumstance as they strive to escape a relentless pursuit. Their embrace embodies a fleeing belief that divine intervention will save them from their fate, but fate has other plans. In

and he should react to the trilogy to Marty's El Paso
These two are icons!! This duet gives me chills!!
Did you know that Willie even sang at Ray Charles funeral services along with BB King, Stevie Wonder and Glen Campbell. The 2 of them together on this song is absolutely amazing!!
This built a huge friendship with Willie & Ray! They became very close!
When Ray starts with the "well, well, well", that's when the chills and goosebumps just wash over my whole body. I LOVE this song. Thank you for doing it.
"Seven Spanish Angels" is a song written by Troy Seals and Eddie Setser, and recorded by Ray Charles as a duet with Willie Nelson. released in November 1984.
I’ll be seeing Willie, Bob Dylan and John Mellencamp in concert in Pittsburgh in September. This is one of my favorite songs, two incomparable icons together!

I ran into Willie at a Dairy Queen in Sealy Tx. Back in the early 80’s. He’s an icon!
There will never be another Ray Charles. Both are legends!
My grandfathers only request as his life came to an end, was to play this song at his funeral. We honored that request and now I only see him when I hear this beautiful song. thank for the reaction!
Two legends what more can you say.
My daughter got to party with him on his bus when he came to Detroit. He's a gentleman.
Absolutely FREAKING legendary!!!❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥💯
When Ray hits that Well,Well it’s all over for me.
Their voices are so soulful, you don't need to be a classical singer to make great music
You know it now! My favorite version!!! One of the greatest live songs ever recorded in my opinion! If anyone has anything negative to say about Ray Charles, you better bring receipts. What a special human!! Peace, Love!!
I'm 55, first time hearing. WOW!!!
OMG. Most powerful lyrics... cry everytime. Those 2 voices together ❤️ crazy!
Truly one of the best ever collaborations. 2 of the best
Willie had a duet with Julio Iglasias titled To All The Girls I Loved Before.
And Willie had a duet with Waylon titled Luchenbaugh Texas.
Willie had a duet with Toby Keith titled Whiskey for our troops, beer for our horses.
Seven Spanish Angels" is a song written by Troy Seals and Eddie Setser, and recorded by Ray Charles as a duet with Willie Nelson. It was released in November 1984 as a single from Charles' 1984 album Friendship.…….. it’s from Wikipedia….it was popular with some musicians….Marty Robbins also did this type of music enjoy 😊
I remember Ray Charles performing at Jubilee Jam in Jackson, MS in the late 80s. I was a cop working the event and just wanted to hear him live. I was at the back of the auditorium and remember the enthusiasm of the old men sitting in the back shouting in between Ray Charles lines "Sing it Ray, sing it". That moment when you shouted "cook" or so it sounded reminded me of that moment. Thanks again for such honest heart felt reactions.
This is my favorite song by Willie Nelson and Ray Charles it's beautiful ❤😇 This actually on a Ray Charles album. He ask Willie to duet with him.BP,Check out Ray Charles Friendship album perfection 🥰 💞
Ray and Willie took us to church today!!!!
The rabbit hole you need to go down was an extremely popular guy. He won a ridiculous amount of awards and was popular still when he died, just a few years ago. His name is KENNY ROGERS. Oh my, women went crazy for that man! He deserved ever award he got and every whistle from ladies in the audience.
**please start with the live video of Kenny singing "LADY." He is in an all white suit, maybe a gold vest too. Idk 😅 Anyway, you'll see why the world loved this man.**
PS He is a great Storyteller. He has a lot of Storytelling songs. He was a successful crossover performer too.
I took my son and daughter and my sister plus 12 of their friends to go see Ray Charles, the man shines, his piano shines, floor shines and even his shoes you could see reflection in😉. Great show and I will never forget! In return my kids took me to see Willie Nelson. Such great performance
Partied with Willie back in the 80's when he performed at my university. Great smoke and total gentleman.
Have you sobered up yet?
Two Legends in one place awesome song Love, Ray Charles and Willie Nelson
Two legends just doing what they do!! Excellent!!
You reacted to patsy cline " crazy" Willie wrote that song
Willie and Ray taking us to church!!!❤❤❤
I cry every time
Same here!😭😭😭
Also poncho and lefty, with Willy and Merle Haggard!
If you like this you will love Willie, Ray, and Leon Russell singing "A Song For You" live. You can tell they were friends by the way Willie looks at Ray when he sings and the way Ray "looks" toward Willie.
Willie Nelson has been making music before I was born back in the 1950s. I lived close to Nashville and back in the day of three TV channels, he was on so many regional country shows. I love his evolution over the years. Incredible song writer and unique singer. He’s worked with just about everybody.
Willie Nelson will be 91 on 29th April and he is still touring. This song with Ray Charles gives crazy chills and it’s on my forever playlist. ❤
TODAY IS WILLIE'S 91ST BIRTHDAY! MET HIM 5X SEEN HIM IN CONCERT 10X. HE'S AN UNBELIEVABLE HUMAN BEING AND AN UNBELIEVABLE SINGER! CHECK MORE WILLIE OUT!❤
Both are iconic and together they are next level! Loved this one!❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
Such a beautiful song. I was fortunate to see Ray Charles back in the 90s. I'll be seeing Willie for the 5th time in June.
Ray and Willie whay a combo !! Ray always takes you to church !! ❤❤❤❤
Always have loved this song. It’s the BEST version.
Ray Charles in the early 60s did a couple of country albums. As a young teen I listened to his music nonstop. He could out country, country singers.
Dolly Parton attempted to sing with Willie Nelson ,she told him he was the hardest person to sing a duet with because of his unique voice is so hard to harmonize with . Ray Charles has a powerful unique voice also ,imagine the skill it took to blend those two voices.
I just bawled like a baby. This performance always gets to me. Every. Single. Time.
Willie and Ray took us all to church with that song.
Loving the eclectic mix recently…warmest wishes from Scotland ❤️🔥🫶🏻🏴
the story IS the STORY ...
I seen over a thousand concerts in my life, from the age of 12, 1977. My father said you aint seen anything til you seen Ray Charles live.
He was not wrong.
Man Ray and willie, woooo boy two all time greatest entertainers
2 of my all time favorite male vocalists. They both do/did duets with famous vocalists.
Texas Outlaw Willie! I can say I have been honored to be on his bus and got my bucket list “hi with Willie”
Great music, great artist, I love this song❤thanks
He was wanted by the law in Texas. When Ray sings that WELL WELL WELL, to me that brings it all together.
Thank God for the USA. This talent is allowed to grow and this is what the world loves. Peg you are doing an amazing job bringing greatness back to all of us. Thank you...
This just makes a listener feel good..... two icons.
You can really hear it on this and see how much it adds to the song that most people don't realize but Willie sings on the back beat
From Wikipedia: The song is about an outlaw and his lover who are trying to outrun a posse sent to return them to Texas. When they are cornered, they decide to fight the approaching lawmen. Before the final gunfight, the two embrace, speaking of their belief that God will spare them. The gunfight then commences, with the outlaw firing upon the posse. He is immediately shot and killed, prompting his distraught lover to pick up his gun. She tearfully prays, "Father, please forgive me; I can't make it without my man." She deliberately points the empty weapon at the lawmen and is then shot dead. After each death, the titular angels gather to pray for the lovers. This is followed by "thunder from the throne" and the angels "taking another angel home" Seals stated that "We tried to make [the story] ethereal but also believable". As written the song included the lines: "Now the people in the valley swear/ That when the moon's just right/ They see the Texan and his woman/ Ride across the clouds at night", which Sherrill preferred not to record feeling the track would run too long.
It isn't widely known that Ray Charles sand county and western music. He had a complete album of country music.
Willie is the king of duets.
This song was definitely western. Back when it was called country and western. An iconic duo and iconic song.
Beautiful song. Big hit
Love Willie Nelson, big song writer and one of a kind voice.
Ray Charles, no other voice like his
I love this song. It always makes me cry.
Sitting here cying. It always makes me cry.
Happy Birthday Willie! 91 years young (April 29th)
How different their voices are but both still can rip into your heart.. Willie has so much under his table..as for Ray what can I say.😮😊❤❤
When i was in college, Ray Charles played a concert after our Homecoming game in the Superdome. This song hadn't been released yet, but it was still a great show.
CLASSIC!
I've heard this song over 100 times probably.. but it still grips me when Ray sings the first notes.. what a talent. Just another amazing artist that I have to say RIP.. I just watched you reacting to a Waylon song with a friend.. talking about how country music is stereotyped as being racist and Waylon wasn't.. another example of no racism in country music.
Just how many chill bumps can you have.
I was lucky enough to see Ray Charles around 1982 in Florida. It was just him and a grand piano. One of the best music nights I've ever experienced. He was truly amazing. Also saw Willie several times at Caesars Palace (my work place mid 80s to mid 90s) where he would finish his sold out show at the Colosseum by doing loads of encore songs then he would come out into the casino bar and play his acoustic for a couple of hours more. And, yes a true gentleman. Willie also has the best movie line I've ever heard in The Electric Horseman that was filmed at Caesars. It concerns a keno girl.
Ray Charles and Willie Nelson were best friends. Willie Nelson did Ray Charles eulogy.
One of my all time favorite songs. Truly a masterpiece that shows the beauty and power of music.
Another one that makes me cry every single time.
Thanks for bringing back some fond old memories, and a few tears. This song is beautiful.
Hard to beat two of the most Iconic soulful musicians of multiple decades singing a duet. Cheers BP. PS. A good story (whether based on reality or fiction) is always worth telling. IMHO
My dad and I play and sing this song together beautiful but sad story! Love it though! Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤❤
Outlaw lovers fleeing to Mexico with the posse from Texas have hunting them down to take the outlaw back Texas ... Cry everytime I hear this song, reminds me of riding with my daddy in his big rig, and letting me pop the 8tracks into the player.
Thanks for the trip to memory lane today💕
Ray Charles and Willie Nelson were very good friends
used to sing this for my ex father-in-law and his fishing buddies way back early 80s, 80-81when this first came out, we'd be driving back from his fishing cabin/hut and every time he'd say...sing us Seven Spanish Angles son. . 😅 love the song
There`s a special kind of magic unfolding when the best of the best come together and support each other`s awesomeness.
I love your reactions so much. You are treating artists and their music with the respect they deserve. You`re feeling music in a way not everybody can.
THANK YOU!
Ray Charles recorded a lot of country songs. This song would fit into the original country and WESTERN genre of country music. W
