  • Code 917 always denotes AYP/Electrolux/Husqvarna. Once belts have smoked it is generally a good idea to replace them as they will have stretched. Thanks for watching!

    Nice repair Ken. Thanks for the explanation on correct placement of the pullies I would not have paid attention doing mine.

      Originally it looked like the pulley was cutting into the belt. Only when I took the deck off did I discover the seized idler pulley bearing.

    Ken you should make a video on your history as to how you learned all about these small engines, training, and how you ended up on youtube.

    What ever happened to the days when you could just press the old bearing out and press a new one in?

    • @KensSmallEngineRepair
      @KensSmallEngineRepair  3 года назад +1

      Craig I used to be able to remove the seals, clean and re-grease the bearings, reinstall and be on my way!!

    My brother's has the exact same Lawn Tractor but steering bush is gone Ken his deck has seen better days to Ken last time I looked at it which is about a year ago now it was pretty rusty. It's taken a few hits from stone's over the year's. The seals had defo seen better days. A few handy tips there Ken. Parts are easy enough to soarce for this mower Ken ? Also what would recommend for keeping the deck from rusting is there any specific paint I know I could probably use an underseal but thought I would ask you if there was anything better. I do like your Milwaukee rattle gun I really need to get one myself I use my mate's one just now. But could do with getting my own one. I did see them doing a kit for it with the angle grinder as well. It looked a good buy at around £300 Very interesting and well explained mate. My brother's one has the Briggs and Stratton 4.5 hp on it. I would say it's a slightly older model than that one your working on.👍

      As far as decks holding up, the biggest culprit is built up grass clippings and leaves, both under and on top of the deck. A clean deck underside painted with a slip-plate type paint and cleaned off after each cutting would last forever. On top just blow off the clippings after each mow to avoid moisture buildup and rot.

    Hello I have been have issues with my carftman 944.600041 ride on mower. I have had to replace the belt 3 times this summer. Would u happen to know where I can find the oem belt as I have been using Ayp 144 959 belt (95 -1/2.any help will be great, excellent video

      Any Husqvarna dealer should have a 532144959 belt or can order one. OEM Deck Belts from AYP/ Husqvarna usually are light brown on color and will come in an AYP sheath
