    Is it possible that deep bite can cause speech and articulation problems?

    I have a saving case. When I was 6 my front mandible incisor never came out. So I’ve had a baby tooth for over ten years in the front bottom , along with adult teeth in the back that never came forward bc of the baby tooth. I also have a deep bite that is currently getting treated and that baby tooth looks a bit transparent, doesnt whiten like my other teeth when I brush, and is sort of thin and sharp at the top area of the tooth. I just learned that my deep bite caused this. I used to be very insecure about my adult incisors being crowded in the back but I am now thankful in a way as I’ve miraculously avoided them being shredded overtime by my top teeth. God is good😄🙏🏾

    My dentist has ignored my deep bite, my jar locking which I think is due to have a incorrect bite. He ignores holes in my teeth, teeth that are a cm long due to grinding. I don’t know what to do I can’t afford to go private

      I had a terrible, terrible dentist who made a tiny hole on a good tooth to “fix” my bite…….
      Then che cut herself and told me to go check my blood…
      For then ignoring my next appointments.
      I should have sue her.
      Now I went to a private dentist.
      I am honest, the price difference is not much……
      She also recommended me her orthodontist.
      Now it’s been 7 months I have braces, my jaw doesn’t shake anymore.
      I give you a hearty advice….
      Save money and get a private dentist…..
      Save money for orthodontist if you might need one….
      Trust me it changes your life.
      I’ve spent A LOT for the braces BUT it’s worth it.
      I always used to hit my teeth with a deep bit and grinding at night, now I feel normal.
      Choosing the right dentist is also about luck.
      You have to be persistent until you find a genuine humanly and experienced person who will listen to you, trust your instincts, and avoid young dentists.

      It shouldn't take more than two years, but every case is different. Consult with an orthodontist to get the answer for your individual case.

    Hello Sir,I believe I have a very deep bite. My bottom teeth cannot be seen when I smile, also, when I bite, there's space from my front and bottom teeth. That's how deep the bite is. Just 2 weeks ago, I started experiencing pain in my left jaw, whenever I open, the pain is getting serious lately and pain killers doesnt work. Could it be because of the deep bite? Can this still be treated?thank you.

      Hi there. I'm not aware of conclusive evidence that links deep bites to jaw pain. If you were my patient, I would probably have you see a TMD specialist before treating your deep bite. I hope this helps :-)

    I have severe deep bite and my top front teeth are getting damaged from inside. I also started to have swollen gum behind top front teeth due to bottom teeth hitting them. I am 35. Does it make sense to get orthodontic treatment at this age?

    Is it possible to bring the top and bottom molars together instead of pushing the top incisors up and the bottom ones down and this way open the bite?

    • @meadowvieworthodontics2177
      @meadowvieworthodontics2177  Год назад +3

      That's a great question. Unfortunately, actively extruding the posterior teeth in both arches is very difficult because it is an attempt to increase the height of the entire face. Even if we succeed at extruding them, the action of the muscles of mastication will press them back to where they were before.

    Can your deep bite or uneven bite cause sore gums? The periodontists are useless at this moment. I don't know anything anymore

    • @meadowvieworthodontics2177

      If your bite is so deep that your lower front teeth touch the gums behind your upper front teeth, it can cause soreness in that area. If not, then I do not think that your deep bite is behind your gum soreness.

    Can a deep bite affect Jaw and Chin development? Could a recessed chin be caused by "Deep Bite" and is it fixed with Orthodontics?

    • @meadowvieworthodontics2177
      @meadowvieworthodontics2177  Год назад +3

      Deep bites are typically associated with a facial pattern called the brachyfacial pattern. This pattern includes a prominent chin, not a deficient one. The lower jaw as a whole may be shorter than normal, but the chin bone in particular is typically prominent. Correcting a deficient chin bone is best done using a surgery called genioplasty, which is performed by an oral surgeon.

      @@meadowvieworthodontics2177 Thanks for responding. Is the brachyfacial pattern fixed after applying braces and Orthodontic treatments or does that require a surgery as well?

    • @meadowvieworthodontics2177
      @meadowvieworthodontics2177  Год назад +1

      @@aliazarmehralparslan6067 You're welcome. As far as I know, there is currently no way to change a person's entire facial pattern as that would entail changing not only bony structures but also soft tissues such as muscles and fascia.

    I had a very deep bite that required braces for 3 1/2 years when I was 40. The bottom front teeth chipped as a result. I believe the orthodontist brought the front teeth too far back to correct to the overjet. Now at 76 the problems have recurred. I have braces again. Sure wish the problem was diagnosed when I was young.
