I also have a deep bite and I just started treatment a few months ago. I am doing Spark (clear aligners). My orthodontist doesn’t have me wearing elastics yet. She said she wants to straighten and open up my teeth first and then work on the bite. She said my bite may not ever be completely fixed. But I have head aches and so much tension in my jaw so I hope I can get my bite more aligned. I wake up every morning with a sore jaw and neck headache.

Hi ! I have same situation as yours. But all you can do is be patient. Once the jaws are corrected, you will have a good mouth for lifelong.

@@payalmalhotra6526 I’m 37 and I’ve been wearing my braces 1 year and 2 months but my deep bite is still not corrected as the forces that put your incisors into your gums are the natural ones your teeth are trained to. So it takes some time as my orthodontists say. I also have to wear class II elastics on one side and class III elastics on the other😂😅

@@payalmalhotra6526I am 38 years old and I’ve been in braces for over 2 1/2 years now. My alignment has massively improved but my bite is still relatively deep. Because of my age my jaw misalignment takes quite long but I get dental cleanings every 3-4 months so my gums don’t suffer. It’s improving slowly but steadily

I had this same situation but my orthodontist didn't even gave me rubber bands or anything that improved my jaw and now my top and bottom teeth doesn't touch eachother and he said it will never be touched
So he said it will be wide open😢

Explanation of correction process is great.
But ,in this particular case, trimming of upper incisors is done excessively.

Hello Doc, wonderfully explained.. Liked !
Qs. In cases where a person is having both deep bite + overjet, normally do you fix the deep bite first or the overjet first?

How long did this take? I had the exact same bite. Orthodontist said I have a 110% deep bite. First orthodontist said he would use turbos. I moved to a different state after 5 months and had to get a new orthodontist. He never put on turbos. Or bite pads. I’ve had these on for 29 months and I still have about a 100% deep bite. I’m mad. We aren’t even close. Should I find a new orthodontist? (I paid in full upfront). I don’t know what this guy is doing. I was 43 when I got them on and I’m about to turn 46 and I don’t want to have these on forever.

Does it make sense to correct an overjet first? I didn’t have a bad overjet but do have a deep bite. I wear elastics and now my bottoms are flushed with my top teeth but the bite is still there. The only thing I have been using is elastics and my ortho didn’t mention any other treatment.

Currently undergoing to a braces treatment to fix a severe overbite (like the one in this video). Got started in the end of November, I wasn't very far (like 2mm) from a class1 canine occlusion and teeth were straight and alligned (apart from an upper external incisive, which was "fixed" by half of January). I have an appointment each month, each time i get wire switched (Niti). My orthodontist decided to opt for an upper brace only first to fix my upper teeth and then put on the lower one instead of using turbos. last time (10th Jan) i went for a wire change i got a wire with a reverse curve of spee to correct my upper teeth, but they din't move at all since then. When on average i can expect to see those incisives start moving upwards? I was very confident the first month and a half after watching that tooth properly alligning, now I'm afraid it'll never happen.

@@krithiiks as the upper teeth opened enough, I put on braces in the lower ones though, but he had to mill the lower brackets due to teeth overlapping. He managed to open the lower teeth a bit in the following months. He kinda works slowly to me, also he works either on upper or lower teeth, but month by month it gets a bit better. Latest appointment he almost managed to completely fix the upper teeth apart from a slight bend in the right premolars, at least for what I can see, the lower incisors and canines still need to be taken down (at least 4mm) and all the lower teeth have to move forward (like 8mm). He told me it would have taken a year and a half to fix my teeth, last week it has been 2 years. Pretty confident it will take some more months, but not a year, to fix the lower teeth, but I don't care to wait a bit more if the result is good.

Hello....I am 33 years old....and I have been suggested for complete mouth rehabilitation ( crowns for every tooth) for correcting my deep bite and the space between my teeth. I also have a lot of sensitivity and my enamel is almost completely eroded. What would you suggest? Complete rehab or braces?

So i have a deep bite and i am insecure about it so i move my lower jaw forward then it looks normal but in this postion my upper and lower premolars and molars do not touch but my canines and incisors does. I just wanted to know if doing this affect my maxilla to recess or something?
