I remember being in car upstate ny one scary night in the mountains climbing higher and higher into a massisve storm with an intense downpour. When we reached the highest elevation we were directly under this huge monster. A gang of low altitude thunderheads harpooned at us with full cloud to ground lightning all around us only a thousand feet up, very close and very blinding, I had to put my shades on. We saw a bolt hit the road directly in front of us and then a big metal oil tanker truck passed us, this was harrowing. He kept going and we were desperate to get off the thruway. The state toll agent told us that once lightning punched a windshield out of a car up there. I was grateful to see that storm gang finally go way off on to the horizon. We knew storms were up ahead but we carelessly stopped for dinner and that was a mistake, we could have made it home in time if we had just hit a drive through. I'll never forget that lesson.
My father stewed about politics almost all day. Almost like a sports fan, he’d get so angry. Now he’s dead. The earth will out live us too. Then burn up. And we will all be dead. It doesn’t matter. There are most likely millions of earth like planets in the universe, too. If it helps people not think about their own problems great. It just seems like a giant waste of life.

Doesn’t Omaha have public transportation? That’s the biggest problem with American cities, you’re forced to have a car, I feel so fortunate to not have to own a car since 2008, I’ve lived in places with good public transportation and here in Brazil it’s free when you turn 60, same in the UK and most European countries.

Yes, You’re area has been getting pretty severe weather this summer I live in Iowa so always have to check the weather forecast! Stay safe!!
