what strikes me odd here is that most of the time the enemy are inside the tail gunners kill zone, so it should have fired a few shots
but, then again, the only time I play ARB is when I'm using my fw190s and bf109

In Air RB, the gunner only fires at targets within 200 meters, at Ace.
So unless they are within that short range (which rarely happens) you will have to man the gunner yourself to hit anything beyond 200 meters. Which everyone fires at each other beyond 200 meters.

Stukas arent meant to dogfight, they were used for dive bombing, they were always escorted by fighters that did the dogfights. This isn't accurate. There were no Stuka air to air aces in world war 2.

its a videogame, plus no one actually cares about escorting bombers, if you are a bomber you die alone or with another random guy in a bomber too
