Flyfishing for mullet : urban flyfishing

  • A video comprised from a previous video, out takes and misc footage that I took over the past year whilst scouting new areas in the search for mullet. The species of mullet caught is the thin lipped mullet (Chelon ramada).

      My hygiene is lax over there but given would could be in the mud is should take better care.

    Caught my first mullet on the fly a few weeks ago. Nowhere the size you guys were catching, but what a fiesty little fighter. I had more fun with him than with some of the largemouth bass that I have caught. Was a lot of fun. I like your squirmy worm set up that you use. And next time I will look at the double set up with the indicator. 😊

      I'm not sure if you saw my last mullet video but Josh demonstrates his method there. It works well on thin lips and to a degree with golden greys.

    Really good film,interesting to see how you fished in muddy water ,there's loads of mullet in the estuary near me and loads of mud! I think I will give it a go .

    Hat’s off to you all. Some great insight into the species and the mud. Nice tunes as well. If i ever try this I think a mobile pressure washer might be in order !

      Everyone who comes along gets caked, it's pretty safe but wellies of breathable waders only as you need to be able to pull your legs up easily.

    Do you have much success with the thick lip using this rig?

      Hector Rodriguez has used it to good effect with golden greys and Josh has used it a bit on thicks but not with any great success yet. But it works a treat fir thins.
