Thank you. Nice video and place. I am trying to work out ways to get mullet on the fly in Mexico. I see you using what look like Colin MacCleod UK mullet flies, which is what I intend using. Have you found some that work? What did you learn, if you were able to open up a mullet gut . . . and find out what they eat?
I’ve never caught one on a fly and maybe it’s different down under, but in the UK at least I’m pretty sure people fish those flexi worms hard on the mud, not suspended as you mentioned. Beaut of a vid though mate - sums up mullet fishing to a T!
enjoy ur videos alot. have u tried to down size ur fly rod to maybe a 4/5 wt rod. I also fish in a urban enviorment with alot of pressured fish with that said i use a clear floating line (monic) as well. also downsize the tippet and use fluro. u dont always need a tapered leader u can use a straight piece of leader. practice to see what ur capable of handling with a particular fly and dont ever give up. u will make it happen.
Great to see you using Colin McLeod mullet patterns in the field. I reckon u might have to lengthen the leader a bit, those UK mates use 11ft or 12ft leaders
