    Trying some new is always heaps of fun! Tried surface and subsurface fly fishing presentations for residential Brisbane bream. Enjoy!

    You are onto some good action there - in those snaggy spot you should try "strip-striking" to set the hook rather than "trout" striking by lifting the rod tip. That way you are pulling the fish away from the snags and stopping it from running which happens when just raising the rod tip. Hope to see more of your fly fishing exploits.

      Thanks mate! I’ve been a fan of the SK skipping prawn for a while I’ll have to give it a go in the vice and then test it out on the locals! 🤙

    Something to consider - get that thumb on top of the handle; you will have more power, control over the rod tip and stability in your cast.

      Thanks for the tip mate! I’ll definelty try that!

    Swoffing well on the long wand mate. What weight you fishing? I've got a probs older than you 4wt set up from my NSW freshwater days I'm wanting to just ruin in the salt. Never really got the hang of it. It's a super cheap Abu Garcia and i had a good double taper but now it has a horrible weight forward. Another quality vid there.

      Cheers Wayne! It’s a 6 wt Abu Garcia Diplomat I believe it’s called, it’s probably due for an upgrade as I’ve had it for years and years thrashing around the salt and not properly looking after it. But first time giving it a proper go and had some success 🤙

    Do you ever get Whiting on the fly - miniature Bonefish - busy trying to figure th out, but no luck yet. Any ideas for flies?

      Not yet! Need to dust the fly rod off and give it a go!
      But those disco shrimps with some assists worked constantly may work. Or small gotchas or something..
      Message Peachy’s Fly fishing on RUclips! He’s a wizard with the fly rod and will probably have the best answer

    Which part of Brisbane is this? It looks so peaceful

    • @dang.fishing
      @dang.fishing  2 года назад +2

      Northside :) most of the Brisbane waterways on the north have flats like this

      @jkxcreations1937 2 года назад

      @@dang.fishing that explains a lot. I'm on the southside where all our waterways just look like muddy bogholes. Smells like it too sometimes D:
