@@kushtunezmedia9328 since both shows take place in present day it only makes sense that Frank and Louie are the same age. Also, Dee and Dennis were born in 1976 and Taxi ran from 78-83, so yeah.
you probably wont see this comment lol, but you are right. i've never watched or heard of this show until yesterday, and was instantly hooked one episode in
We should count ourselves lucky that we had such talent on the same TV show. All of them were hilarious and talented in Taxi. Miss this type of comedy. 👍👍
And they practically switched characters from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest to Taxi, too. In Cuckoo's Nest DeVito was the delusional one, and Lloyd was the temperamental one.
What do you mean, "past life"? Every De Vito character was Frank Reynolds using a fake identity, including the Penguin and that guy who hung out with Jimmy Hoffa.
Louie Depalma, Dan Fielding, Al Bundy, Fred G. Sanford and Archie Bunker: Mount Rushmore of sitcom characters. Danny DeVito at his best in this role and Taxi's caliber of sitcom is long gone today.
Man, I was a generation behind Taxi, but watching all these clips makes me wanna go and binge it. Danny looks like he's absolutely eating up the set, and it's fuckin fantastic.
Happy Birthday Danny DeVito born on November 17, 1944. He is an American actor, comedian, director, producer. He gained prominence for his portrayal of the taxi dispatcher Louie De Palma in the television series Taxi. - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_DeVito
Thanks so much! Taxi was was a great, great show in its day! Too me those were the good times in life! Television has gone into the toilet since then! They dont have an imagination now. Just like song writers now. The music has gone that way too! Thanks again.
I don’t purchase to many DVD COLLECTIONS, but TAXI is one of them. I had to have it. One of the best shows ever! NIGHT COURT is another collection that I purchased. There isn’t much funnier than these two. Another must have is SOAP. That show is a laugh every 10 seconds. There’s nothing like this stuff today. TV went the wrong way.
Not in this but I remember the scene where Louie is on Bobby for spouting off about something. Bobby says Free Speech, this is America ! And Louie says - no it's not, this is LouieLand, America is outside that door . . hahaha
same year WKRP in Cincinnati tv series aired....I love this two tv series...when i was kid....now i'm 60....anyone out there pls send me back to this year😅
Louie will do anything for a buck. I wonder if the beer was real in the mugs? I know these days they can't put real beer in them. In the age when beer came in a mug, now it's all plain glasses, I wonder why?
6:34 Louie DePalma, having changed his name to Frank Reynolds, finally got his big payback at a high school reunion with his two kids and their two friends with a dance routine
No one else But Danny Devito could bring Louie DePalma to life 😅😅😅😂😂😂
So this is what Frank was like when Dee and Dennis were young children.
It would be funny if they made it the same character
Seekarr before Frank Reynolds went to Nam 😂😂
Nah he was older than this when they were kids. Devito in Matilda is more accurate
@@kushtunezmedia9328 since both shows take place in present day it only makes sense that Frank and Louie are the same age. Also, Dee and Dennis were born in 1976 and Taxi ran from 78-83, so yeah.
This doesn't make sense lol
Taxi still hold up after all these years- great acting Danny DeVito
and great writing.
True dat

Louie DiPalma is simply one of the greatest TV characters of all-time
Amen
What a great role he played in that show
Not one of the best THE BEST
Louie, Dan Fielding, Al Bundy, Archie Bunker, Fred G. Sanford, George Jefferson: Kings of sitcom characters.
@@kendallrivers1119 Dan Fielding popped into my head, too. He was in Louie’s league, for sure.
We should count ourselves lucky that we had such talent on the same TV show. All of them were hilarious and talented in Taxi.
Miss this type of comedy. 👍👍
The acting and writing here were absolutely legendary!
Hirsch was the main character, Kaufman became a legend after this, but the reason most of us watched this show was for Danny.
Ahh, the show that I experienced the greatness of Danny DeVito - it was love at first sight and I'm still mad about him today !
There will never be another Louie DePalma on television again. They don't make 'em like they used to
ya i know
Frank Reynolds says hi
Frank Reynolds wants to have a word with you
_Frank Reynolds_
@@KaiserMazoku fuck that show

Well, I don’t know how many years on this Earth I got left. I’m gonna get real weird with it. -Frank
Louie and I have grown old together. I haven't seen this for years and am shocked how young he is.
I like to imagine this is Frank in a past life.
That's how he made his Millions
No man, Frank was way to wild for this. Dude was doing coke in colombia and shit!
The warthog in action
What do you mean, "past life"? Every De Vito character was Frank Reynolds using a fake identity, including the Penguin and that guy who hung out with Jimmy Hoffa.
Apparently he hasn’t renewed his license since then
Danny Devito is a comic genius.
Still.
I forgot how savage Louie De Palma was!
5:00 is absolutely HILARIOUS. I love the way he pulled that off. Timeless classic
If they did a live action film of The Jetsons, Danny DeVito would have made a good Mr. Spacely.
He would nailed it
YES
Holy crap! Yes!
Agreed lol
I will be damned. I thought the same damn thing. He'd be perfect.
After a little run in with the law in Vietnam Louie changed his name to Frank, moved to Philly and had two lovely bastard children
i don't get it.

I'd like t see him meet FRANK Costanza

Only two things are eternal: the universe and Danny DeVito.
Utube: are you a good person by Living Waters
Long may Danny live
Danny was a funny in Taxi. This was a great show.
Just realized he never changed his outfit
Neither did Jim Ignatowski.
Wow, he sure didnt!
Neither did Archie Bunker, except his jammies

FOREVER HILARIOUS!!!! I watched the reruns when I was a kid. But I understand the show much better as an adult 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂

This was my first intro to Danny devito
I wanted to see what Danny looked like when he had hair. This is the best I found
Watch one who flew over the cuckoos nest he plays martini !
Then don't try to find footage when he was tall... it's very rare.
Danny Devito... One of the funniest! His bold humor reminds me of the Great One! Jackie Gleason!
The one and only Danny Devito that bought Louie Depalma to life
my all time favourite comedy program!
taxi is my favorite show of all time especially with Danny Devito he is so funny and very talented
Louie was Taxi.... Made the show...
Louie was easily the best character on the show.
@@trevorbarnhill1481 agree
The great Danny devito
He reminds me of a "Rotten Italian Uncle"!! I always think of his character as "Uncle Louie"!!
I love this show!😂
Love this show so much can't get enough of it
He made that show. Single handedly
Danny Devito is actually 6'1" and only speaks Italian. I just got his autograph. Cheers!
It was from studying Louie that I developed my people skills!
Best comedy show ever, PERIOD!❤
I dispatch for a plumbing company, Louie is my spirit animal
What a great show that was back then the whole cast work good
During my staying in the us taxi was one of my favorite show. Cheers from morocco
Danny de Vito! I love your work!
HEY GET OUTTA HERE!
Thanks!
Louie was the true star! 😂
God i can’t describe how much I loved/love this show TAXI ❤️ And im not from the USA im from Austria 🇦🇹
Utube: are you a good person by Living Waters, my bro
One of the greatest characters in television history, he made the series watchable.
Louie puts the sunshine in the Sunshine cab company.
God the women were so beautiful back then
My favorite was Louie 's response to Jim's psychic prediction.
one of the all time greatest actors
Danny Devito is a brilliant actor....
The painter and decorator's song. "Ceilings, nothing more than Ceilings …….."
Where is the scene where Louie's in the cage singing "He's a Loser" about Bobby?? That scene brought me to tears laughing!!
Louie De Palma is my favorite Devito character of all time.
That's a tough call to make because he is funny as all hell on Sunny in Philadelphia. But I think I like Louis better
Quiet Corner love him on taxi but Frank Reynolds is one of the greatest characters ever.

Tv is actually better than ever
TV is worse? Name 5 shows from the "good old days" that are better than Breaking Bad.
I 100% disagree. Maybe you just don't connect with anything new. TV is really good right now.
uh that's complete bullshit. tv is superior now in every single way
Typical old person. "Nothing produced now is as good as what was around when I was young."
This is crazy how good this show was
Louie was....how to put this....a little ball of compressed evil, barely contained by the wire cage he spent most of his life in. God bless him.
Fun fact: This show was originally called "Yellow Cars" but they could find any "rs"
I would love to find the episode where Louie and Elaine went on a date. Best episode ever!
Marilu Henner is gorgeous! ❤❤❤
I need that song real bad😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Loved watching this as a kid. Soo long ago.
One of the best comedy's ever.
Come by the garage this week and I will give you a tire😂😂😂😂😂😂
I always thought Danny DeVito was just born to play Super Mario in a live action movie. It's too bad that never happened.
1:49 "Gimme" Kills me every time XD XD XD
I definitely need to use that at some point. Thank you for the best advise ever, Danny!
Louie DePalma was Napoleon and the cabby's were Europe. Think about it....

Whenever I see a rerun of Twins, it’s like Louie running around all over again.
This is the greatest sitcom ever!
BuddyGroove sry it's Seinfeld :)
I agree
magzire nope I thought Seinfeld was but it’s always sunny is the best.
it's always sunny does a better job at being Seinfeld than Seinfeld.
This isn't even the greatest sitcom with danny devito in it
Priceless
Danny DeVito is Great as Louie in Taxi (1978).
Danny is The 🐐

From 1:58 to 2:18 Louie sure has a strong N.Y. voice wish mine was as heavy as his lol
sometimes its put on for the show
I can assure you my uncle's is heavier.
Man....such an iconic role, more complaining in 10 seconds than most humans could ever do in a life time.
So this was when Frank was younger and had hair when Dennis and Dee were young kids.

Is that Andy Kaufman playing the "Foreign Man" mechanic at 2:29 ?
yes
You should hear some of the stories about Andy Coffman on this show.😂
Back before he needed to eat cat food to fall asleep
Before he was Frank Reynolds, he was Louie De Palma
And after that he was Bobby Ciarro in "Hoffa".
There's actually a character with the last name McPoyle on Taxi too!
MCPOYLE'S WILL TAAAAKE OOOOVERRRR THEEE WOOOORRRRLLLLDDDD!!!!!!!!!
I seen everyone of these on Nick at Nite in the 90s
And I'd thought Married with Children was obscene. And Married... was FOX!!!
The idea that Danny Devito is over 5' tall is the real joke. I don't think he's even 4'9, maybe 4'7".
@NWO 666 maybe
In a race between Louie and Don Rickles, I think it would be Louie by an insult. Would like to see him in the U.S. House as a Rep.
2:51 Nice save, DeVito.
