The Éva Marton International Singing Competition is a biennial competition for young opera singers founded by Éva Marton the world-renowned dramatic soprano and the Liszt Academy of Music Budapest.

One person knew how to sing in French, there was a "coloratura soprano" who couldn't trill, there was a mezzo who's really a soprano (and a fabulous one at that!), a baritone sounding like a cheese-grater, ladies afraid of their chest register, and, fortunately, two excellent tenors and one excellent bass. Another excellent tenor didn't even get to the final.
