    If I could coach someone in the 100 m dash I would have them train a on 110 m track without letting them know, that would teach them not only to finish the race but they would always compare their times to 100 m dash times and think they have to get faster.

    Sprinting key.
    1. Arms always on the middle portion of the body, not too high not too low.
    2. Legs should automatically kick forward.
    3. Don't control your breath. Just let it flow. Your body will adjust to that. Controlling your breath automatically adjust the whole rhythmic of the running.

      +prankspickup I can def cover that in a future video...for now I don't like to focus so much on things that people do wrong because I want to show the correct way of doing things. Sometimes if you show videos on what people are doing wrong, people will watch the video and not pay attention and end up taking away incorrect form and mechanics and thinking it is right. Also, its tough for me to say what you guys are doing wrong without seeing you run, do drills, etc...

    I used to be pretty crap at running in year 5. I don't train or anything apart from doing the regular Physical Education from school. My record at the time of year 5 (aged 10) was about 17-18 seconds in 100m. In year 6, I began to improve but not by a surreal amount, as I was just reaching a top speed of 16 seconds in a 100m race. I am currently 12 and in year 7 reaching an amazing improvement of 11.345 seconds. Don't ask how 'cause I have no clue.

      @deemabowgen3268 8 лет назад

      +Beaztt m8 work on speed endurance - when training, run 110m instead of 100, but run in like you would a 100. This way you'll get used to running faster for longer and hopefully you'll be able to keep a top speed for longer. Good luck

    • @wisdomrose3948
      @wisdomrose3948 6 лет назад

      Same with me. Usually, when I race someone, most of the time, they have a faster acceleration but during the last 30m or so, I eventually catch up because I am good at keeping my top speed for a while. I also do the 400m and 1600m, which may explain some.

    Great video!! Quick question do you have an injury video? 2 weeks ago I ran the 100m and pulled my hamstring, I was wondering if you had any tips on recovery and things you should do thanks!

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  8 лет назад

      +The Gamer from the Block My best advice is see a trainer (hopefully your school has one) and see what they say. Every injury is different so it really depends on the severity of the injury, the pain level where it was etc. My best advice is let pain be your guide. Don't do anything that hurts it and give it time to recover before trying to come back. Its very common for people to think they are healed and jump straight back into intense training and reinjure themselves. So just amp up the intensity slowly and pay attention to how the injury feels.

    • @JaretCampisi
      @JaretCampisi  8 лет назад

      for a 60 meter dash you can train pretty similar to how you would train for the 100 meter dash except all of your "overtraining" workouts could be a little shorter. You really don't need to run anything longer than a 120-150 since you'll be pretty much accelerating the entire race.

    • @johntatum1951
      @johntatum1951 8 лет назад

      100 meters for your strength training workouts is probably ok as well if you're strictly a 60 meter runner and never do any events longer than that.

    my right leg(dominant) is always more sore than left, is my left side being lazier meaning my right side has to work harder? how to balance this out?
