    1440p is absolutely perfect for me just enough clarity with much better performance.

    You can always play at 4k with console settings so around medium settings.

    Buying the best you can afford and being smart with your parts selection as most don’t need the best motherboard and cpu but good enough for the GPU that you can afford. The gives you more money for a better GPU.

    As game technology advances, it gets more and more demanding. The truth is we will always chase the next best thing be it resolution or whatever. We will never have a gpu that’s un-breakable in performance.

    I bought 55" 4k 60hz tv as my only screen after relocation 4 years ago, my PC had rx570 8gb that time, and I enjoy it, 4k RUclips, tomb raider 4k high, and some other games. My opinion that with upscalers, u can enjoy "4k" gaming with mid tier GPU, with 10+ gb of ram. And almost always upscaled image will look better than native with lower resolution u can afford with ur gpu. I have no place for a desk with mouse and keyboard, so my wish now is to upgrade to some gaming tv. P.s. have 7900xtx right now and totally agree about upscalers p.p.s. if u want some tech info about screens, zzanya channel with subtitles is what I recommend.

    Upscaling to 4k is entirely acceptable in my opinion, its just when DLSS and the like has less to work with it produces a lower quality image that is unpleasant to look at. But as game engines are getting ahead of hardware upscaling is a convenient option for the average consumer.

      @rasluffi I agree!
      Unfortunately these technology's would be more help at lower level hardware but they actually produce far better results with higher end hard when used at higher resolutions.

    4k is still far from the desk… i had a 4070 super and upgraded to 4080super… i still need to use upscaler in almost every game as i play ultra setting and ray tracing if there is. Definitely not worth it. Just get a 7900xt and call it a day.

    That is why I have a 38" 3840x 1600p 175hz UW and LG C2. If the game is too demanding, I use the 1600p UW. Which is in the middle of 1440p and 4K.
    3840x 1600p to me this the sweet spot resolution. 1440p is amazing, but it is just old. 😆
    I also have Acer Predator 4K and Qnix 1440p. But I don't use them.

      @OniiXGaming I might have to try 1600p in my 3440x1440p ultrawide.
      I ran 5160x2160p DSR and it looked pretty good but was way demanding and still not as good as my 4k native monitor.
      I love the immersion of the ultrawide but the 1440p is a struggle for me personally..

Won't say it looked better than my 4k tv ...but it kind of did in some ways..gave it a less sharp but really nice image. Assassins odyssey looked amazing. @c523jw7 So yeah you've got a lot going on there.
      The xbox won't be running 4k native so it'll be using upscaling at a lower resolution for your 4k tv.
      Then you go to 1080p on a much small screen and the xbox will be running closer to it's actual output resolution so limiting the upscale.
      That's why I'm saying to actually tell the difference of a resolution you need to compare with the same size screens and no image processing or scaling introduced.
      A 27" 1440p native image will probably look very similar to a 50" 4k native image.
      A 50" 1440p native image would look absolutely terrible compared to a 50" 4k native image..

    If your buying into the high end, my opinion is 4K is the only way. Spending 3k + and settling for 2nd best in 1440p would just get in my throat. Everyone saying 'my 1440p looks better than 4k' are either using a tiny screen or eyes are melting or talking nonsense. But then again, just my opinion! I understand people wanting 1440p for extra performance as in FPS and that's cool. But saying '1440p looks better than 4k' is just silly and I hear that a lot.

    Biggest factor is how close you sit to the screen man seriously. Like tv or monitor doesnt it even out considering you sit alot further away with a tv?? Upscaler quality is far less important i would imagine as well sitting futher back on a tv too.
    You can switch your tv to 3860 x 1800 and it looks insane. It puts it into ultra wide. Doesnt that make your 4k tv that new resoltuion..its not upscaling that to 4k right??? If you do that thru windows its ok.
    Its when you switch the res to 1440p in game but keep the windows setting at 4k when it upscales to 4k.
    Im not tripping surely.

    • @Spratty-wb3is
      @Spratty-wb3is  16 дней назад +1

      @c523jw7 you can't change the amount of pixels your screen has with a flick of a button.
      Whatever image you try to put through your tv if its a 4k tv with 3840x2160 it will still remain with 3840x2160 pixels.
      Your TV will image scale.
      1080p on a 4k 50" screen vs 1080p on a 1080p 50" screen will look extremely different.
      There's a reason why 1080p monitors are hard to find above 27" and most suggest staying at 24" for 1080p.

  • @mmremugamesmm
    @mmremugamesmm 16 дней назад +1

    Unfortunately 4k is still a dream until the lower end cards can do it consistently. When we can do that without having to set everything to low quality on the low end, then it’s a standard resolution for gaming. Just Ike 1080p was is the standard with 1440p being the standard now. Most cards can do 1440p in allot of games. Just my opinion. I would by a 1440 oled if it was commonly available. I don’t need 4k

    • @Spratty-wb3is
      @Spratty-wb3is  16 дней назад

      @mmremugamesmm I dunno!
      To get 4k gaming across all tiers I think you'd have to remove the lower tiers and just sell the top tier cards.
      I think it's ok to class gpu as resolution tiers as AMD and Nvidia themselves both do.
      To stay at 4k is impossible as games will always become more demanding, but you should at least last the generation.
      This generation 4k gpu as advertised by AMD and Nvidia both included upscaling to achieve their given targets.

  • @DonovanMcNabb5
    @DonovanMcNabb5 15 дней назад

    The whole argument of 4k on a 1440p is kind of the argument on why Nvidia sucks this generation compared to AMD. Because you get the headroom to downscale with older games 6-7k, but nvidia don't let you downscale on this generations high end monitors or let you do the other stuff without nerfing the hardware. I saw the difference when Dragon Quest 11 came out and 4k downscaling the image was obviously better. Nvidia DOES let you downscale but you have to nerf the monitor (sometimes by a lot) to get those features and when the difference is too much, Nvidia becomes a no go. Nvidia also sucks using 2 displays and even worse adding more.

    • @Spratty-wb3is
      @Spratty-wb3is  15 дней назад +1

      @DonovanMcNabb5 I dunno as I said I was using DSR 4k on a 1440p monitor with no issue.
      But constantly using DSR isn't particularly a clever thing as your still taking the performance hit of 4k but on a 1440p monitor.So in that case you should just get a 4k monitor!
      As far as multiple screens, I've no idea as I don't use them, but all the sim racing content I watch with triple 4k screens is always run on 4090s 🤷‍♂️

    • @DonovanMcNabb5
      @DonovanMcNabb5 15 дней назад

      @@Spratty-wb3is Yes i understood what you meant, but there are still those games that you can push to absurb pixels counts and frames but you cant do it without nerfing color quality or nerfing the monitors framerate. The 4080 and 4090 can push a lot of games beyond 4k with good framerate but not without tradeoffs. Because 60fps is good enough, sometimes 30fps in cinematic games, but you cannot dsr it on lots of high end monitors because Nvidia chose to not play well with DisplayStreamCompression and use old displayport 1.4. And the nvidia 8bit color wash is very obvious on an OLED screen imo.

      @DonovanMcNabb5 I'm gonna dive into this subject during this week, I'll throw the 1440p monitor back on.
      In my experience DSR 4k to 1440p looks a lot better than VSR 4k to 1440p.
      Why exactly that is I've no idea.
      I'm not sure if that's why VSR users are trying to push 5 or 6k VSR through a screen with 1440 pixels.
      To me that makes absolutely no sense.
      There's a valid argument 4k to 1440p doesn't make sense so 5k or 6k is throwing away performance.
      I get what your trying to say about the display ports but the DP 2.0 on the AMD gpu isn't quite the flex it's made out to be as it's not a full bandwidth 2.0 but a lesser version 2.0 meaning that it still uses DSC.
      The point of 2.0 was to eliminate DSC but the port on the AMD gpu's fail to do that.
      The 2.0 dp ports fitted to the professional range of AMD gpu's do have the full bandwidth 2.0 port however.
      Why AMD chose to put that on the professional and not the gaming gpu I've no idea but maybe cost is a factor.
      Is the 2.0 on the Gaming AMD gpu better than the 1.4a on the Nvidia gpu, yes.
      But it's more marginal than you think and ultimately they still both rely on DCS to push high resolution with high frame rates.
      AMD seem happy to allow DCS to be active with VSR.
      Nvidia don't want DCS active whilst using DSR.
      How that effects both solutions I'm not sure but I'll look into it.
