- I was requested to make a fiddle tutorial for how to play Tam Lin, so here it is! I am a little awkward talking to the camera, but hopefully it's still useful. I tried to go over the tune slowly so we can all learn the notes by ear! =)

This is the first tutorial I've ever made, and I hope it's helpful! I feel a little awkward being an amateur making a tutorial, but it's all for fun! =)
Thank you for watching! I hope you have fun practicing! =D

At 67 yrs old I am learning the fiddle. These tutorials are super helpful as I play by ear. I have been playing bass, guitar and mandolin for many years so I have developed a good ear. Thanks so much!
Easily the MOST adorable female youtuber I have ever watched. Speechless.
@Paul Hurst, I don't have a reply button for some reason, so I'll post a comment here... Thank you! I'm glad it's helpful! =) I'm amazed at people who can read sheet music so effortlessly -- there's so much information and stuff going on in each little measure! I still think there is a lot to music that can't be written down very easily, and I really prefer learning tunes by ear.. I feel like they are so much easier to remember if they are learned by ear! ^_^ Thank you for watching!
Dear Katy your tutorial unveil all the secrets of this magical song. Thank you very much!
Katy, huge thanks for this tutorial! Just what I've been looking for. Great that you go nice and slow for us beginners. Also good that you're teaching these songs by ear as that's how they were traditionally passed down isn't it...Plus I'm rubbish at reading music :) You're a natural teacher....Many thanks from England.
This is really great! Thank you so much for the tutorial and the excellent explanation! I love how you slow it down, call out the notes, and show the progession and hand position on your fiddle. This is really an excellent way to learn. I am playing fiddle for the second day and already putting this song together. Please, keep the videos coming.
Katy, thanks so much for your great tutorials. I never though I'd be able to play Tamlin, but, thanks to you, I'll have it soon. And your wonderful personality makes it so much fun. I wish I could hug you!!!! Thanks again.
"There's a few little doodles to make it extra fancy." 😂 You're a great teacher and thoroughly entertaining. Keep doing Katy!
I absolutely love how you set up your tutorials. It is amazingly helpful. Thank you so much.
Thank you for your simplified tutorial of this amazing tune! Your sheer joy and willingness to share what you know is so fabulous- keep producing more- you are one of my top favorites!
Greetings from the UK Katy, you play a mean fiddle please keep the tutorials comingXxx
You are so genuine Katy. I love your renditions! Thanks for your lovely videos and for breaking it down for us. You are a great teacher!
Katy you have a goofy personality that's really endearing. You're a wonderful teacher and you play beautifully. Thanks for sharing.
Brilliant teaching with adorable humility. You're a treasure.
Thanks so much Katie. I thought this might be way above me since I've just been playing a couple of months, but I can now play through the whole thing...slowly.
Katy, you are the best teacher! Thank you so much for taking the time to prepare these tutorials!
Thanks, Katy, really helped clarify the first three measures! Great lesson.
I really liked the way in which the tune was broken up into phrases and then into notes and for the first time found it easy to master a wonderful tune that is not as complicated as it sounds. Many thanks.
I've taken a recent interest in Irish pubs and seshoons and like to follow a really nice Celtic/Irish acoustic group in my area. So now I want to try my hand at the fiddle. Watching this vid has got me hooked. Thank you for your nice presentation
You are a gift to us All! I've had so much fun learning this. You are natural teacher, very patient, kind, and fun. Thank You! keep on fiddling!
