I have the 2.4GHz version of the 335. I can tell you why I agree with you and prefer the mini-wing design:
1. The laser pointer is extremely fragile, and I broke mine (by dropping the keyboard) within the first week of usage.
2. The power button is now gone, after dropping the keyboard a few times (hey, it happens when you have a 4 yr old in the house!), so I can't shut it off anymore.
3. The Bluetooth wireless is more hassle than it's worth, because PAIRING. A 2.4GHz dongle plugs and plays, no PAIRING required. I've used the 335's sibling to get into my home servers when I couldn't/too lazy to find a proper USB keyboard. Had my 335 been a Bluetooth keyboard, I woulda been out of luck, because my servers run NAS4Free.

The 335 does have it's pros, but in the end the Mini Wing is the exact keyboard I would buy when it would come to whatever uses I have for it. The layout is perfect since that touchpad is in the middle. Alongside of HTPC usage, I think this would be great for temporarily checking and updating my NAS.
Why do I always find stuff when I have little to no money..
Sounded like you said you can plug it in via USB and use it that way without Bluetooth? Is that true? If so i think this is the handy little gadget I've been looking for.

i bought a cheap rf mini keyboard from china, it works... it does lose connection sometime so i have to turn it on and off, i was looking for a new one (after 3 years i'm done with this cheap thing) thanks for sharing your vision on this
Another option is the mobile app, Unified Remote. I can use it to connect my Android devices to my computer and control it with ease. It offers a wide variety of options for controlling the PC and its programs with the convenience of a touch screen that customizes for each use.
I just finished building my HTPC, and was trying to find a less clunky alternative to my full size keyboard. I never even thought of candy boards! ^^
this video blows me away. Even though you have a fraction of the views of the bigger tech guys, you put far more effort and information and depth into these videos. Definitely going to be watching this channel more often

Meh. An attachable mini keyboard for my Dualshock 4 is all I need if I want a remote of sorts for my PC. It's got a multitouch pad, I can attach one of those keyboards to it, and through some amazing drivers every button is rebindable, and you can create macros and profiles that can be programmed to switch automatically depending on the application you're using, so you could, for instance, make a media player mode profile and have media keys on your buttons, then as you finish your movie and close the player it goes to a profile better suited for controlling windows, with start or a games folder or whatever bound to a button and, say, one of the sticks for scrolling, and then as you launch a game, boom, it goes back to it's normal gamepad profile and now it's an Xinput compatible controller; It's pretty darn handy. I think Sony unintentionally created the best PC gamepad/remote ever.
There just needs to be a better quality keyboard for it (an official one perhaps, Sony **wink-wink***nudge-nudge**?) and... well, a better battery, because the DS4's battery is garbage. Also, enabling audio passthrough on PC would be pretty swell... come on, Sony, get to it, why don't ya?
Dat mini wing tho. I have a keyboard with a similar layout to the 335, only it lacks the touch pad; I have to AIM the damn thing at the screen to move the mouse. Suffice it to say, I no longer use it for fear that I may get so pissed off at it that it would wind up up becoming a permanent fixture int he center of my TV screen. That being combined with the no-space-between-the-keys thing is just intolerable, so that Mini Wing is prolly gonna end up in my living room at some point.
I actually have both keyboards and I my self like the mini wing as well for the same reason the typing on it is much better

This was an interesting video. Would you consider doing something similar on mice that are good for HTPC use (mice that can be used both with, and without a surface for tracking)? The, granted, aging Logitech MX Air, and the Asus VivoMouse comes to mind. :-) There may be other suitable mice out there that i dont know of.
I just prefer having the keyboard seperate from the mouse on my HTPC, i cant really deal with small buttons for typing, so something like a Rapoo e9070 ultraslim keyboard, with a dedicated HTPC mouse seems like a much better option for me. :-)
Vote mini wing, my tablet splits the keyboard with SwiftKey and it's great.

I'd rather get the 900335 only because of the material it was made with. I hate rubber tactile keys. I'd prefer one that uses plastic keys instead.

I feel like I should ask, why a mini keyboard? I do think they're kind of neat but.. I'm sure most of us here have a phone right, so why not just use an app such as unified remote to control your htpc or whatever else? obviously the biggest advantage is that it has physical keys, but otherwise its kind of...
free (provided you already own a device) vs $20+ keyboard that does the same thing.

You forget that if you have a family a dedicated "remote" is better than one that walks out the door with you or is low power at least 1 time a day. But yes if your the only user its a fine solution with a app.

Frank Nielsen Yeah that's a fair point, though for us that actually isn't an issue, we basically all have our own TV, after years of replacing the old one and giving that one to someone else, none of us ever have to share a screen.

First thing Love your videos!! And so do my kids. With the Corona Virus I am building them 2 computers at home todo school work on and game some. So they are learning a tone from your videos. But the point of my commenting is maybe this is a video todo a reboot on? We have watched you and several other build in the new small computer cases and I was that is great for next to the TV but how do you control the things other then having a full size keyboard or mouse on a coffee table and we don’t have a coffee table or end tables in our home. So I started googling things. I had to google your channel name and mini keyboards to even get it to show and I watch your channel none stop. But I think with the new small form factor computers coming back out maybe this would be worth refreshing the content?? I don’t know just an idea. Have a great day and stay healthy!!!

Plain and simple the only one even worth considering is the one with the touchpad in the middle so it does not interfere with either hand reaching the keyboard on that side. Why any keyboards put the touchpad on the side is completely idiotic and shows a lack of thought. However neither of these keyboards like most of them, have proper keyboard layout. Real Keyboards do not have keys in straight vertical rows which places keys in a wrong orientation to each other. Why they can not place the keys properly is another good question and shows no thought either.
i agree with the touchpad in the center thingy.. but as far as ergonomics goes you can't really expect them to orientate the keys in such a way that it looks like a full size keyboard without compromising space.. it needs to be as small as possible otherwise it defeats it's purpose..
Those are both too tiny for my big ass hands. I use the Logitech k410 living room keyboard for my htpc.

I was able to pair the keyboard on the backside of my Samsung remote to my HTPC via Bluetooth.
I prefer the new one just because of the Bluetooth
