Very curious Hingis chose to try to outhit Venus in long baseline rallies in this Semi. Kournikova had the MUCH better strategy in the final, using touch and throwing mixed pace at Venus’ power. Her athleticism won out in the end. But nobody else Davenport and maybe Pierce this season could’ve expected to camp at the baseline and hit with her.
