What is so strange about this set is that most of her deductions come from minor choreography movements. Her dance was all over the place. That standing Arabian was beautiful though. While I was never really a big fan of Rebecca Bross due to her lack of artistic ability, I can't deny that she was a really really good tumbler, and acrobat.
Clearly she has talent as u can see at 0:21 she landed that beautifully but i think she gets a little to ahead of herself which can throw her off. Lots of potential though :)
i watch these videos on a daily basis and I never get sick of the commentators, I think its informative and interesting to hear what they have to say about the gmnasts.
She lost like 5 tenths from balance checks from just standing on the beam , it seems she was insanely scared about the dismount , if only she would change it to something a couple of tenths easier and can do more consistently she would have had so many titles because she screwed up many comps because of that dismount
That dismount is FAR too inconsistent for her. Maybe a double front would be better. I don't think she'll win the all-around in London, but she could help the team out a lot if she gets and stays healthy. She's great but I never really felt she was at that calibre; maybe there's just been too much pressure on her...
not her best, but good skills and very powerful. I also like how flexible she is- she gets so much credit for being powerful and aggressive, but she's also quite flexible (but not terribly graceful....yet! hopefully she continues to improve heading into '12)
how come here elfi says that its just a conservative mount and then the next year she say that she loves how the mount grabs your attention when she dose it the same??? huhhh i will never understand these commentators
she started off great and then got like extremely wobbly. i dont think that her dismount was strong enough with her roundoff and she didnt get enough height on her full, that was probly y she had such a bad landing :)
@angelamazinggg THANK YOU!!!! finally someone agrees with me. they actually describe the differences of deductions, and why certain problems are more severe than others. some ppl might not see why rebecca's landing was scary, so they explain it. bbc just lists the skills, nothing else
She's actually way overscored here. She got an 8.5 execution. That dismount is at least .8 off - .3 for the leg separation in the saltos and .5 for the terrible landing. Then she should have gotten another .5 for the side salto. That right there is 1.3. With all the other wobbles it should be another. 8 off, she really should have wound up with something more like a 7.9
@randomness132 they are just trying to capture the new viewer..never know when they would be watching...it only gets annoying to us because we can watch video after video.
Why insist on her doing the Patterson as the dismount when she could NEVER land it in big competitions! The exercise is already packed with difficulty, so there was no need to throw in one of the most difficult dismounts for beam!
What's strange is that she never hits at Nationals (except 2010) or most US competitions, but never seems to have a problem with it during both 2009 and 2010 Worlds, so maybe they kept it in for a reason. I watched her beam routines there, and she consistently landed pretty decently
She needs to stop walking into the round off, she gets no power from it, she'd get the same amount of energy from a cartwheel. She should either fix it or i would say maybe go for the double front, .1 less valued but less scary
It's weird though, she almost never hits in classics or nationals but she is much more consistent in worlds. Look at her during London & Rotterdam, she hit the dismount almost every time. I agree with you though, it probably would've been smarter to downgrade the dismount for nationals but keep doing the Patterson in training

She looked shaky through most of it, but that was a hard routine! I love that dismount.
the standing arabian was huge!

Still a 14.700!!! WOW! People get those scores without 5 steps in on the dismount and all those huge bobbles!!!!

is her dismount the same one that carly patterson did in the 2004 Athens Olympics? (;
how come here elfi says that its just a conservative mount and then the next year she say that she loves how the mount grabs your attention when she dose it the same??? huhhh i will never understand these commentators
I think she meant just the jump up to the beam. Her wolf turn isn't a part of her actual mount.
@TwisterFlipp95 i think it just the way she was rotating her feet in prep for the round off.

@ixchelreq no, not exactly the same.. Carly does a round off anda backhandspring.. i think=P

@juliogratz Dallas I think
i love her Arabian
What a shame she never made it to London. She just peaked a little too early.
She reminds me of Vanessa Atler
@12skype12 LOOOL! And how do you know Rebecca's going to be at the Olympics 8-)
what place in USA happened it ?

Nastia and rebecca tied
Not everyone watching knows much about gymnastics, mate.

She's really hard to watch on beam. Scary because you never know if she's going to hurt herself

This is a really crappy routine for someone who is in the olympics and I'm a gymnast so I would know
Lol but she wasnt in the Olympics
rebecca bross = very overrated
sorry just my honest opinion
