    Rest up, heal up and come back for the real rock garden, the Grand Canyon. Our trails are a bit bumpy but the geology lessons are incomparable. Stay safe.

    Thanks for another wonderful adventure. You are doing the right thing in resting. I loved seeing the super bloom in the desert area. Would never see that in real time from the back woods. You sure overcame some unforeseen happenings this trip, the first time I've ever seen you sick in all these years. Rest up and then take us all on another adventure. Take care, be safe.

    Sorry to hear you’ll be leaving our State but I’m glad you enjoyed your time here. We’ll be waiting on your return. If you would have hiked the Mazatzal Wilderness 10 years ago you would have found it covered in pines, it will be a while before that returns. Sorry about our rocks but we’re use to them. Looking forward to your future visits happy hiking.

    I've just loved watching this series and seeing a slower-paced hike - it seems a lot more fun and doable to me! I also love tea-time! It feels like I'm hanging out with new old friends 😀

    My husband and I did R2R north to south,( one ☝️ day)it’s a lifetime hike. It’s not easy but very rewarding , challenging , and beautiful harder than we thought .

    You could do the rim to river to rim staying on the south rim side. South Kaibab to Bright angel. I have done it twice it’s beautiful!!!

    Always love your adventures. Agree arizona's rocks are something to be recond with.. we spend winters apache junction, with our horses. We claim a 10 mile day in az is harder than 18 to 20 mile in our home trails in washinton. And hiking most every day can be hard on the joints,,,,feet n legs.. but the super bloom was spectacular.. thanks for extending the desart beauty, for me, as we headed home a month ago❤.

    I spent 10 days snowed in at Pine in February. Was “farm sitting” the lavender farm there while the family was in Mexico for a wedding. I absolutely loved my time there. Sweet little community. Glad you were able to make it your “pause”spot. Speedy healing. As always, your joy of our glorious outdoors is always inspiring. ❤

    Oh my gosh, you two have had quite the hand full of challenges given to you on this trip, and you kept it all going. Such an inspiration to me as an aging hiker who has been struggling through some physical injuries recently. Must say that one of the thrills of watching your travels is that we see them in real time (for the most part :). We watch and see the date and say "Oh, look! That was just yesterday! " Looking forward to the next installment of the AZT whenever it arrives!

    I had heard about the Canyon closure. Wondered if that would be the deciding factor. Even though you have had a rough time it helps people realize its not all a bed of roses. I have had times when the pain of an injury took my joy of the trail away and I decided to end a hike far sooner than I planned. It’s important to know that’s okay. Love you guys looking forward to your next adventures!

    Do you think you could do a video about the gear that you take on your backpacking trips? I am 62 and haven’t backpacked in 20 years. I would be interested in your sleeping system and footwear. I am sure that you have a lot of tips for senior backpackers (especially female). You are such seasoned backpackers that I am sure other people as well as myself could benefit from your expertise. Thank you for all your videos. They inspire me to get out and do more things. I hope that you rest up and I am looking forward to your next adventure.

    I was wondering when you would get as far as you could go. I saw Dixie's video earlier this week, and she got a whole mile into the AZT when the North Rim closure was announced, so she decided to try again some other time.
    Wow, those rocks really did look like bones. Big ol' giant's bones! If it's not called the boneyard already, they should call it that!
    Congrats on getting as far as you could. The trail will be there next year. And hopefully not buried under snow and rock slides.

    I read a few days ago that the trail from Cottonwood to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is closed until June 2. It’s sad, but it’s amazing that you have experienced the super bloom. I’m looking forward to your next adventure. ✌🏼❤🎶

    ❤ love you two. I did the JMT in 2021 with my brother. (He's 69 and I'm 57) since then I've had back problems and foot surgery, but I see you two getting through all the little inconveniences to live your dreams. You inspire me every day to do the same.

    Been hearing that others are cutting their AZT hikes short as well due to the closure.
