You are abgreat story teller. Im so excited for you and you're beautiful journey. Thank you for sharing your journey. I promise you it wasn't 112 maybe dont have your thermometer on the back. Its reading the temp wrong. Keep trekking. 😀
You picked good year to start and will be rewarded with a desert bloom. I hope that you are recording a lot of the scenery for your future viewing. The dog should be trained to avoid rattlers. A puppy ahead of Homemade got bit on trail. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
I enjoy watching your videos! Full off enthusiasm, anticipation and determination. Love that you interview companions. I will follow your trip. Happy trails Ash!
I just love your energy and delight at finally being on the trail. I’m betting you have the stamina and strong mental game to make it to Canada. Thank you for sharing your adventure.
Yey, I am so happy for you that you started and that it looks so nice and warm weather! I have been following PCT hikers on youtube since early March, and now seeing the same landscapes again in summer weather, what a difference! I sectioned hiked in 2013 to Big Bear, and then KM to Lone Pine - Whitney summit and out at the portal. Enjoy south California! Happy Trails 😀🌞
Ash, just watched your first three videos, you are in Julian as I finish your last video. Was there on way home from desert a week ago sunday and saw backpackers, wondered where they were headed. Realized oh yes. the PCT. Checked out youtube ,found a couple other blogs and caught yours and I think I've picked yours to follow. 😁 Good luck. Bill
Oh wow. At one point I wondered if this day would come for you. Quite emotional watching that intro as it was wonderful to see the joy on your face after all you’d been through recently, as well as your back story from previous vlogs. And now YOU’RE DOING THE PCT!! 🎉❤ Thank you Ash for sharing and putting all this content together, can’t wait for EP2 😊
Hello, Ash. Yaaay, finally got to the starting point. Ofcourse, your adventure has already started. You had to battle the forces of airline incompetence. Slay a evil tiny creature called covid. Then rally the forces of good among the generous strangers and fellow hikers in a strange and far away land. While the whole world watched, and rooted for you in youtubeland. Now you are ready to go. Your pack is full and your physical powers are 100%. Today is a big milestone for you, and your journey must continue. I guess you still have 2650 miles to Canada. Go, "lost pack"....go!!!
Fantastic first video Ash! Your got your American initiation with line dancing! 🤩 Thanks for the shout out, too! 😻 HA! I bet that little extra weight in your pack was all that candy! Cool little compass/thermometer - what brand? I'm looking to get one. Keep your joyful spirit and your grateful heart! ❤May all your dreams come true!
Was that thermometer in the sun? I'm way further north, so I can't be sure, but the 3-day weather history near Lake Morena has highs around 27ºC / 80ºF.
Hi Ash! Pulling for you and will be following to the end. Could you please not duh music over video when you (or anyone else) is talking. The wife and I had a hard time hearing a lot of this video. Happy travels 🥾
You got to the trail and did the twenty to the lake in one day that is better than a lot of them. Some have been wandering around for weeks and have not done a twenty mile day yet.Stay with a group that is doing twenty mile days and you will get to Canada don't get bogged down with slow whining people that will never see the border.

Great to see you on the trail at last. 45 degrees is no joke😅. The environment looks wonderful, and so quiet. Great weather to start in.

I didn’t know Dolores O’Riordan was a hiker! So cool. Hopefully she sings on the trail.
It is not 112 deg. You cannot check the thermometer when it is in the sun, it is black and absorbs the heat.

New subscriber here. Awesome 1st video. Curious the brand of temperature/compass you have on your pack?
There is actually enough water flowing to get a underwater shot four miles out of Campo.
What are you filming with ? Your video is in so sharp of focus !
