Thank you Kristy and Annette,❤ I too am trying to understand my country 😢. I am grateful to live and be a native of Colorado 💙 I’ve followed you since the AT hike and this video brings me Joy showing the beauty of my home state and how nature can heal.❤❤❤
Thanks, Kristy and Annette… I agree… we have to take this time of grief and honor it… but also see it as a call to strengthen ourselves and stay centered… stay connected to other caring and woke people, and press on… finding joy and awe in nature like we always have. You two rock! ❤ Please take care of each other!
Love you all so much! Thank you for being you and sharing your story and true selves. Count me also among the devastated. Also what a lovely hike in the snow!
I am a divorced 77yr old female and have loved your videos ever since I found you hiking the AT. I look forward to seeing what adventures you are up to and love the outdoors as you do. From the bottom of my heart with love and deep respect, I would like to understand what rights you are fearful of losing with the next administration.
They explained it pretty well and worry about people beyond themselves. They are part of the lgbt community and are definitely being discriminated/threatened by many in the coming administration.
I think they did a great job being respectful and thoughtful in their response/video, and hope one day I am as strong and adventurous at their age - they set a great example, I did have the same question as you though, or why they might feel unsafe, Trump has shown support for the lgbtq community by inviting members of the community to use his properties as wedding venues, and aside from transition surgeries for minors, I'm not sure what changes or action he would take involving the lgbtq community, I digress, I hope you wander woman continue your adventures safe and happy : )
@ I can’t speak for them of what makes them feel unsafe but from what I’ve seen he and the people he has in his administration have made comments against gay marriage, gender care which includes soooo many things beyond trans care, women’s rights to choice what is done with their body. He has assaulted many women. And then other problems not related to safety, his economic plan is going to bankrupt our country just like SOOOO many of his companies. And so much more but with All this being said it never changes the minds of his supporters 😔
@@mdrrr860I couldn’t begin to speak for these two adventurers. I can shed a little light about their fears, though. It’s about more than who can pass more laws or open up more oil fields, etc. There’s a pervasive sense of fear born of how Trump’s behavior has encouraged some segments of society to be more open with their intolerance and disdain. When I was in college in 1976, I went to Houston with friends (three other women) and as we walked along the sidewalk, a guy jumped out of a car with a tire iron in his hand. He was yelling at us about being lezzies who needed to be taught who was boss. When he walked toward us swinging that iron, one of the gals picked up a beer bottle from the gutter and we charged him. He jumped back in his car with his buddy and took off. (Probably to find a new rear window. Prettttty sure he needed one. 😅) That happened more years ago than I want to admit. It feels like his kind of thinking and acting is legitimized by Trump and his more radical followers. And what I keep thinking is “didn’t we fight this battle already???” I hope I’m wrong and will be delighted if I am. (I’m a retired cop so my cynicism where about 1-5 percent of the population is concerned is strong and rooted in experience.) We’ll hope for the best, as always!
LGBTQ+ ally here.... fear of loosing the Marriage Equality Act. All the benefits of being married such as filing joint tax returns or having access to a sick spouse in an ER or ICU without additional paperwork steps. Any benefit in society of being recognized as being married. Also, any other federally mandated anti discrimination law or mandate. All the places that have posted we "do not discriminate based on gender, race, disability, sexual orientation" won't have to be held accountable by the government for denying things like housing including hotels, transportation, healthcare, employment, etc. Those anti-discrimination posted notices are mostly mandated by law, not volunteered by a company.
Thank you for this video and glad to know you both will continue with your message of strength, love, kindness and adventure. This is a scary and sad time for many, many people.
Thank you for sharing this. I love you two ladies and pray we get through these next few years with as little damage as possible. Stay safe, stay strong and I’ll see you on the next video💙
Thank you for the peaceful walk through nature. I love snow and am waiting patiently. I do agree that we need to hold onto our power and stand up & resist.
Thank you for taking the time to talk about this. It is devastating to me. Someone that filed lawsuits for equality in the workplace 45 years ago, raised my daughter to be kind and accept everyone, only to see her vote my granddaughters rights away and so critical of people. Her father’s parents were immigrants from China and his father fought for the US in WWll as well as my dad. I’m heartbroken, I’m scared and worried for what is coming. I somehow feel I failed. All that beratement and anguish I went through to make a better place for others that came behind me is all lost. All I can do is get back up and be positive and hope that the guardrails in place can keep this administration in its lane. Maybe it’s time for me to get in good trouble and tell my story and fight against this.
@@Kittycat822 It’s not your fault! It’s sad, but human rights is a battle for every single day of our lives. Keep showing the way! Decisions people made in this election have consequences. I’m hoping I will be woman enough to not rub my extended family’s face in it when this shit show impacts their comfortable way of life. 🙄 History was never my fav subject in school but I paid enough attention to figure out what happens (Hitler) when people don’t stand up for basic human rights.
Beautiful video. Hiking heals and so happy we all have Mother Nature to cradle us. I know many are hurting and I allowed myself 48 hours to feel it and hurt too and then I had to hit the trail. I dream of owning a property where all are welcome and accepted that could be a basecamp for all things GOLDEN. Where conversations over campfires light souls on fire and kindness and compassion cures. Proud of you two! Keep on Keeping on! Rim to Rim Michelle:).
Sending you love and support from Tucson. ❤🌈 For me the most difficult thing right now is the uncertainty. It could be worse than expected, or just a bunch of campaign bluster that never materializes. Preparing for the worst is responsible, but emotionally and literally exhausting too. So it'll be one day at a time for many, many days. Thank you for sending out these messages of strength and light and connection. It's making a difference. Planning to hike Wasson Peak this weekend. ❤❤
That's what I'm going to do too. Keep on hiking and enjoying nature while not stressing out (too much) about the next 4 horrible years. Thanks for always keeping our spirits up! 🥾
I feel the hurt you are feeling, and share the devastation and the fear. I feel the most angst for the young people, young women who may not be able to make their own reproductive choices as I was able to do, and for all young people who face the enormity of climate change without the hope that society will address it in some useful way before it is truly too late. I want to believe, I'm trying hard to believe, that most people who voted for change were not truly haters, but simply people desperate for better personal economic situations, and who bought the line that a loud-mouthed grifter cared about them. Thank you for opening up on this and most of all for your charge to all of us to stay strong and help and protect each other. Protect each other, and stand up to power. I will wear my rainbow ribbon as an ally until this world turns around again. Stay safe and thank you for all your inspiration.
Love this message! It has been a challenge trying to find anything positive to hold on to this week but choosing to turn away from despair and find strength and community wherever we can is the only path forward. And get outside! Who doesn't feel empowered after a walk in the woods. And you meet the nicest people there.
My partner and I have lived in Texas for many years. I intend to walk as proud now as I did 40 years ago when people were even more ignorant and misinformed. The next few years won’t be easy, but this is a disgusting speed bump to progress that we WILL get through. Surround yourselves with those who love and respect you. Many blessings to you for speaking your truth. It means a lot to many of us.
Post-menopausal childless cat lady with a Women's Studies degree in California checking in. There is hope. Don't give up. Bring beauty to the world, inspire young people, protect truth. When you know what you stand for you know what to fight for, and when we fight, we win.
You guys inspire me every day. As a 68 year old white woman in NC I was proud but a little intimidated putting up a Harris-Walz sign in our yard but I felt I had to. As a sister and aunt to 5 gay men and with Mexican and Chinese immigrant extended family members I am afraid for all of us. But we cannot run because this is still our country and just because America has elected a president who gives people permission to bring out their worst side we must work together to encourage the best in each other. Stay strong.
Thank you soooo much for this video! We love you and never ever forget how much inspiration you provide ❤️ I really hope we cross paths with y’all someday! Take care, be safe and keep on being you!
I’m traveling overseas now, so woke up to the election results. The only saving grace was that I was prepared for it after what happened in 2016. I feel fortunate that I retired a few years ago and don’t have any real reasons I must stay in the US, so am considering spending at least a good chunk of time outside the country for awhile …
Several years ago I read a proverb that really struck a chord in my heart and it has helped me to navigate my way through many very difficult times. "Fear is the hole harm comes through." Everytime I felt overwhelmed by the circumstances around me that were beyond my control, I remembered that proverb. Instead of being fearful, it brought a calmness and a realization that by not focusing on the "fearful," I could not be consumned by it. By"holding on to your power," by "creating your life each moment, " inspite of what surrounds you, Annette and Kristy, you will not be consumned by the negative. Thanks for a beautiful walk.
This is Randy and Kristen - We finally got a lot at the SKP park in Benson #251 ! We hope to see you this winter. We also wanted to share that we are part of those devestated by the election results. We have you backs!! Long time subscribers of you journey! Thank You
Such perfect music for this video. Poignant, sad, but with a hint of hope underlying it. Nature doesn’t care who you are, or what nationality you are, what your party affiliation is or who you love. If mankind could emulate Nature, we would all be so much better off. Take care , ladies, and stay strong!💙
My wife and I got married when it became legal. I hope in that right but never thought it could not be taken away. I live in the PNW after moving from Texas The hate is real and I am devastated but not surprised that this has happened. For me I am glad the bandage has been ripped off and we can see that a lot of our fellow Americans want this. I pray hate and oppression does not flourish but it is good to be honest that it is real. To be a warrior is to know what you believe in and what you are against. I appreciate you both. I love your channel and your message.
I’m a dad of a gay son. I am a white male that worked in the Detroit Public Schools for 25 years. I faced ACTIVE discrimination and physical threats every single day. I decided to wake up every day and treat everyone well(it worked!). I am older than both of you and an avid hiker. At our age a fall, animal, human predator, falling tree, weather are real threats to our lives. Some esoteric threat from a politician pales by comparison. What if The Republicans win another term or two? You living the rest of your lives in fear? Just be you, and remember how many hundreds of people have been good to you along every trail. None of them cared if you are a couple, neither do the rest of us.
Thank you! Devastation, and fear? I can’t imagine what you all think is going to happen. Calm down, be patient, be open, and be positive. All this talk of devastation and fear will make you stressed and sick. Focus on nature, get outside, be kind and be supportive to all. I’m a big fan of Wander Women, and have been following them since their CDT trek. They are some of the most positive women I know. I hope they continue to be!
You can count on my wife and my support anytime. We are in the Phoenix metro area. Much appreciation for your videos, they have been a great inspiration to us!
I feel your pain and just want to give you both a big hug! I too am devastated by this election and by the fact that so many Americans would choose darkness over light, lies instead of truth, and division over unity. It’s hard to process it all. We cant give up the fight for democracy and equal rights for all. Life has its ups and downs. We may be knocked down right now but we need to unite and keep fighting . I have to believe that although it is badly bruised right now Democracy will prevail! 😢🙏🏻😍
Thank you both for your videos. I was devastated again with the result of this election. I will do my best to stay positive and support friends, family. I’ll find ways to support community. Love and peace to you both
Totally agree, we must stay strong, and as my partner and I are sad, and we know it will be a fight and a long 4yrs ahead us, we must not give up on what is each person's human right to choose, whatever that may be.🤗💕
Ladies I don't understand why people don't want what is good for us this is a terrible thing that has happened. I know the feeling that you are speaking of I pray we all get throught the next coming years and hope things get better for our country some day in the future we really can't afford for it to get any worst my love goes out to you and others that were let down. ❤
I too am devastated by the recent political events.. you are a source of inspiration and amazement at your adventures for me.. Sad that anyone should feel unsafe in this country... but should you decide to head south this winter... I wish there were somewhere I could buy you a meal...
Devastation is an understatement. We unite together and support one another. My very best friends are lesbian and I cried for them and with them. And for women in general. Hugs and love to you both ☮️❤️🏳️🌈
As someone who has gone through much grief due to multiple losses, who was focusing on hope for a brighter future with a peaceful candidate who genuinely cares about this country, I feel more waves of grief these last few days … for our country and the world. I fear the waves of grief many of us feel could become a tsunami of grief for many of us in the future. But, both of you choosing to discuss this felt so refreshing and normal to me, which is a strong seed of hope. You have both always been a source of peace, joy, fun and inspiration to me. I’ve been watching your videos since the beginning of the AT. I have so much gratitude to you both already for all of the great, peaceful adventures you’ve taken us all on with you. Seeing you both open up about this topic while on a beautiful hike was the only video I’ve seen on this topic so far that somehow managed to combine the pain we all feel with serenity and strength. Thank You. ❤☮️
I am a 72 yr old single lesbian and I feel very sad, devastated, and angry. Thanks for taking us with you. My inner warrior is working her way back. Take good care, Sisters.
Bless you two and thanks for that little pep talk. You are warriors. This election has divided my community and my family and it seems there's no resolution in the near future. I can't in good conscience abide or be around any known Maga's. I believe we all have an inherent sense of good vs. evil, right vs. wrong and every one of them have crossed the line and made a deal with the devil. And for what? A dozen eggs? A pound of bacon? Racist tendencies? Wish I was out walking in the snow with you two and leave this troubled world behind for a minute.
Inspiring! Spent two days in a state of grief and despair and finally made myself go for a 5 mile walk today. Still feeling all the feelings, but it was a great respite.
This is the way we need to live each and every day. Be the light and the joy. Be strong and be a warrior. We are all beloved. Care for your neighbor, be of service in your community. Be kind and keep love in your heart. Attract and shine your inner light. There is goodness in this world and its essence lives within our spirits. Take care and be safe everyone. ❤
Than k you for this great video. We have been following your channel for a while and say that people like you are what is going to be needed for all of us to get through it, together.
I know I will need to keep myself close to and involved with my community and I'm blessed to have a large one. You are now a part of it, too. I'm taking a hiatus from a lot of news and social media but you two will remain! ... The "other" Wander Women, Brenda and Gail (TX)
I am a 70-year-old female, divorced. I have followed all of your adventures over the past few years and have been so inspired by you two! I'm a day-hiker. Broke my foot two years ago and am working my way back up to longer hikes again. Every video you have posted has encouraged me to be better, do better, enjoy life, cherish nature. Thank you for being you! I am devastated as well but know that we are in this together.
I am working on adjusting to this new reality, but currently just want to cry often. I need to move past trying to understand I guess. Thanks for your lovely video and for sharing your adventures. We just returned from your beautiful state. You have inspired me in many ways! Mimi Hikes aka Kim McCorquodale
Love and hugs from Australia, you have the love and support of so many like minded women - people. My partner and I feel your devastation and share your fears for the future. ❤❤❤
Thank you “sisters”. Thank goodness we have nature as our sanctuary, providing light in this darkness. Continue to be brave, bold and positive. Luv ya!
Thanks for being you in a cold, detached from natural world. Many cannot, will not understand nor accept those who can appreciate "snowflakes on the eyelashes" the beauty of a moment Be safe young ones
We are currently in a café in our city in Germany, where the lyrics of the song "die Gedanken sind frei" (thoughts are free) have recently been printed on the paper coffee sets. The song was played i. e. by Sophie Scholl on her flute for her father in Nazi custody. He and she were murdered by the Nazis. We must all be vigilant and remain upright.
My wife and I just moved from NJ to Florida to be closer to family... 2 small blue dots in a sea of red. We have gone through all the stages of grief since Tuesday. We don't know if we will stay or if we will move back north ... and if it gets really bad whether we will go abroad. We know we are fortunate to have options. Thank you for your words of encouragement.
Love and hugs to you too for being who you are - honest, caring, wonderful humans.
Thank you Kristy and Annette,❤ I too am trying to understand my country 😢. I am grateful to live and be a native of Colorado 💙 I’ve followed you since the AT hike and this video brings me Joy showing the beauty of my home state and how nature can heal.❤❤❤

Who threatened you ? And what was the threat ?
Thank you for the encouragement. It's going to be a challenge to continue to live in joy and kindness, but it's even more important now.
Me and my partner have been together 37 years. So sad what has happened in our election. Pray for all of us.
You can count on my wife and my support anytime. We are in the Phoenix metro area. Much appreciation for your videos, they have been a great inspiration to us!
Thank you
I feel your pain and just want to give you both a big hug!
Love and peace to you both
I needed this today. Thank you. Yes, hold onto our power.
Love and strength to you from Iowa.
Stay strong. Educate your daughters. Knowledge is power.
feeling the positive vibes in this! thank you - much needed.
I too am devastated by the recent political events.. you are a source of inspiration and amazement at your adventures for me.. Sad that anyone should feel unsafe in this country... but should you decide to head south this winter... I wish there were somewhere I could buy you a meal...
Girls I totally agree with you both 😢
Love you both. I’ll be following you. Yes. Don’t give up Your power.
Devastation is an understatement. We unite together and support one another. My very best friends are lesbian and I cried for them and with them. And for women in general. Hugs and love to you both ☮️❤️🏳️🌈
Live your best life! That includes not letting political change change who you are.
Proud to be a subscriber…proud to share the planet with you. I personally find courage to be more interesting and sustainable than hope. Warriors!
Thank You. ❤☮️
So sad. Americans would rather have a cheaper hamburger than decency, democracy and the rule of law. But we must and will stay strong. Thanks ladies.
I am a 72 yr old single lesbian and I feel very sad, devastated, and angry. Thanks for taking us with you. My inner warrior is working her way back. Take good care, Sisters.
Such a sad day for all women and Americans at large - I just don't get how we are doing this again. Stay strong Warrior Women, I know I will.
Absolutely devastated. Foreign travel is sounding excellent
2 of my best teachers always! Thank you.
Much love to you both from North Carolina. Thank you for being inspiring beacons of light during what is a very dark time for many of us.
Beautiful words spoken against the backdrop of a beautiful world!
Good will conquer evil is always my hope!! Lovely video! Stay well and strong!
I know I will need to keep myself close to and involved with my community and I'm blessed to have a large one. You are now a part of it, too. I'm taking a hiatus from a lot of news and social media but you two will remain! ... The "other" Wander Women, Brenda and Gail (TX)
You have friends all over! Trouble is, we all value diversity and sometimes that gets in the way of acting in unison for important issues.
We love you guys! We're staying strong together👍
Loved the video especially the music 😢
I am a 70-year-old female, divorced. I have followed all of your adventures over the past few years and have been so inspired by you two! I'm a day-hiker. Broke my foot two years ago and am working my way back up to longer hikes again. Every video you have posted has encouraged me to be better, do better, enjoy life, cherish nature. Thank you for being you! I am devastated as well but know that we are in this together.
Thank you for this. 🤗
Thank you for sharing
We are currently in a café in our city in Germany, where the lyrics of the song "die Gedanken sind frei" (thoughts are free) have recently been printed on the paper coffee sets. The song was played
i. e. by Sophie Scholl on her flute for her father in Nazi custody. He and she were murdered by the Nazis. We must all be vigilant and remain upright.
Live your life and find work arounds to changes that affect you. All the best from Canada.
👏
We are 70 year old small farmers in Minnesota and you are not alone we are devastated also. Thank you for sharing your life and inspiring words.
Please take care, there is a lot more good people out here. We love you for your joy you bring us. 77 women in Wyo.
I’m with you sisters! ❤
You both continue to uplift me ❤
I enjoy your commentary. You speak my language.
