I 100% agree about talent. I am a “professional” artist, I work for DC comics and have some concept art for too many companies to list… the second anyone mentions talent, or a lack of it, when talking about learning something creative, I stop them. Talent exists, for sure, but talent alone gets you nowhere, talent and hard work produce the leonardo Davi cos of the world. Hard work makes you a professional level creative… I was not talented as a kid, at all, in fact I was told,in the early days, I’d never be a good enough artists to work in comics… but I kept working… and now I have been doing it as a career for 30 years. It’s exactly what you said… 2 hours a day, five days a week for two years… I promise you will be pro level at the end of it. Great video…
I regret why you didn't tell this thing 2 years ago, literally I am a victim of those wasting time and I can say each your word is pretty true. Amazing and fully practical, I will share this video in each blender channel, it is very crucial.
Literally the perfect video for me. There's so many tutorials out there for Blender and I had 0 idea where to start. This was amazing at breaking things down so I don't feel paralyzed by choice. Thanks!
This is one of the best sound advice I’ve stumbled upon in a while. As these advices can be applied from an overall general perspective. Thank you so much.
Good points. When I went to school for 3D years ago, I look back and remember trying to do too much rather than focusing on making the small things better. Now years later, similar to you, while I can appreciate what Blender can do for characters, animation, etc what I need to use it for is to supplement and sometimes replace product photography with 3D elements and environments as composites. That is my focus which has led me to your channel. I just wish Blender could more easily and accurately handle 3D from other CAD based tools which are primarily nurb-based.
i bought the blender encyclopedia course just because of you saying it is a great way of learning ... so hope it helps me in learning the best 3d software ... thanks for this informative video,.. you are great... love you sir
Thank you so much for this video! Your tips and explanations are so helpful when learning even other things than Blender. I'm gonna share this vid right away 😄👍
I’ve been using for probably a few weeks, I installed blender late last year and struggled with it, then redownloaded it and tried some animating and did the doughnut, now a little while later and I’m focusing on hun design and I’m getting pretty good, but I learn something new every day. My advice is just find a niche, try to master it, then move on to another feature, like texturing or rendering, and through time you’ll learn everything you need to know
Great video, very helpful. Especially the advice to not go over in your head how far you've got to go til mastery all the time. Sometimes my brain starts spinning these calculations non-stop after I do a little work, and it's to no good use. Cheers
wenbo! im speachless man! your channel is Underrated. you deserve million views. you'll get huge subscribers. I can see the future. i don't know how can I thank you. bcz of you I'm getting close to my dream. keep it up.
You are right but my biggest problem was that i dont know what to model i think its important to focus on 1 project and than try to realize it. thx for you time
Hi, thanks for this video. I'm pretty confident with C4D, but when I open Blender it's a panic time, I know I have to keep going and don't give up, maybe one day or another :)
Great content! I wish you could do a video about hardware, especially now that we are in Cycles X and blender has started supporting AMD and apple but most importantly, with a new era of 40 X series of RTX. It would be amazing if you could show two people what are their options, including CPUs, single or multi core usage in blender.
in my humble opinion even your point b need more work. i guesss. thnx for your hardwork man . :) have a nice weekend . i have like 1.8 year in blender . i took something from you and others ofcourse.
On step number 5 I have a question. They say when learning to program and code be it with C# C++ or even Python , they say to talk to a rubber duck whenever you get stuck because by explaining the problem, by explaining to the rubber duck what is what and how it all is suppose to work it helps you to find a solution and to better understand the material. I'm just wondering if you would think this rubber duck method is applicable to learning blender in any way.
Similar but not the same, my last point was focusing on sharing my solution to a broader audience who might have been struggling with the same problems. I see what you saying, if you can frame the question properly then you might have the half of the problem solved. I do encourage everyone to post questions on online to bring more awareness through. Thanks for your insight mate 🤓
Great video! Congrats! What type of tutorials of the artist process do you recommend for achieving knowledge of blender for something like what you do. Product 3D Images and later implementing with photoshop?
For step 3, can you recommend a few artist or courses for 1- learning the software and 2- learning the artist process.? Please help, I want to learn it properly
Hello mate! For your specific interests I can't really say BUT! CG FAST TRACK has an AMAZING entire course that covers all of Blender parts, his entire workflow step by step and most important thing is that he explains during the process what X or Y do and why he's using it at this specific point of the creation process or workflow. It's not cheap, but it's completely worth the money 👍
@@yuriart you're welcome :) now that I remember "Blender Bros" are top notch quality regarding hard surface modeling (vehicles and stuff like that), you might want to check out their tutorials too :) have a good day!
blender is the only one, which only run, in my computer. but sadly i wanna say, cycles mode r not supporting in my computer. Can I learn Blender with Eviee mode.
im trying to learn how to make roblox accessories but there seems to not have a lot of tutorials(specific to roblox). why do you recomment blender 2.8 instead of the newest ones?
Hi Zhao, great video!!! I need your recommendation...my goal is to learn to create wearables, clothes and items for metaverses, starting with Roblox, but since I am really new to this I am not quite sure what parts of blender should I learn and which courses should I aim for. Could you please provide some recommendations to focus my learning of my goal? Regards!
@@WenboZhao thanks! it looks quite a piece of software for clothing. However, I am also planning on designing other stuff such as swords, hats, shoes, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, etc... initially for Roblox, but to expand to other metaverses when they grow enough in audience...if that were the case do you think that blender is the way to go? and if so, which part of blender should I focus to learn? and finally do you know a particular good course to take (paid is ok) given my interests? thanks in advance Zhao, you gained my subscription hands down!
@@serial1975 Hey. Not sure about the courses but I suggest you look into low poly modelling and creating game ready assets. Texturing also goes hand in hand with modeling so look into that as well. Many of the free courses online will cover different parts of the process, like modeling, texturing, etc.
i think there is no fast way to learn such big software like this... even the fastest way itself. it will take a very long time. just enjoy your prosses n make sure that u are really understand what you learn before
I hate blender material node base texturing, actually i didnt get what to pick from begining to end.... just want to understand texturing in a simple way.....
Saying no to something you dont want to learn here doesnt mean that u need to learn it , it depends on what you're going to be , focus on thing , if you want to make characters just do characters , if u want to do animation just do animation , if u want to do architecture visualization u can do it , but if you got the time u can master all of these , but get this right , client will hire someone with high quality on one things , so why not focus on one thing?
That's ok if you just doing product viz, but things change fast. If you dont learn new stuff you will be left behind. I dont think it will be long before a.i. replaces your "work" tbh I.e. product viz
