As a certified massage therapist with a *ton* of anatomy training.... this video is *awesome* as an introduction. I've already shared it with friends before I even finished it. Great crash course for artists. You, sir, win all the internets.
This was awesome! I'll be honest, I'm pretty lazy, so when I see a 30 minute video I tend to think "Oh boy, this is gonna drag on for a while" but you really got the point and explained the most important things. Looking forward to the next one!

Hi Marc, this is Marcos :) Thank you so much for this video. I have been drawing for many years and I am starting now to learn force drawing and anatomy. It is a very tough challenge but your video made it so much better. My only question is in what order are we to watch these videos? I see on this playlist many of them but I wouldn't know, what to watch next. Many thanks !!!!
You might not see this message man, but your videos really have been such a huge part of my life these past few weeks. I got hit on my motorcycle and had to get my leg rebuilt, and I got addicted to morphine. I’ve been two years clean, with absolutely no motivation to do art, that is until I found you. So really thank you so much for videos like this, the effort and the details mean a ton to me.
A lot of people say that you need to learn anatomy for drawing but only few people try to teach it. Finally I can see the benefits of knowing muscles like that! I cannot wait for further episodes, thank you so much for creating this series!!
@@XonixDerps It's great because it not only helps us to draw, but genuinely also broadens our mind on what we ourselves are made of! I'm not planning on working in the medical field at all, yet I somehow want to learn the names of the bones and muscles now too haha
It’s exactly that anatomy and skeleton tutorial which I searched for a year .now accidentally I saw it and played completely,I’m soooo happy and gonna cry for such a great tutorial for beginners like me ,THANKS ALOT 🥺🍃😭😍
I've been struggling with drawing the torso and the hip area for a long time. But after watching this i got a lot better. This sketching method with very simple shapes seems to work very well for me. I actually understand what I'm drawing, and I can now judge proportions more accurately. Did tweak it just a bit, but I still use the basic shapes for hip and torso. Thanks
I barely know jack about anatomy, but after watching this and trying it out with a few poses, I'm already seeing great improvement in my work. Even though the muscle segment was simple, it still gave me a lot more than looking at a reference on the web and trying to figure out how they connect and contort at different angles. Thanks a ton Mr. Marc! I'll be sticking with this series for the long haul!
OMG thank you so much for this video. I've been trying to understand anatomy for the past 20 years and never got it, now I do after a 30 minute video. Really, this changed my vision so much. Thank you a million times. Can't wait to get home and practice.
This video was so helpful, like damn, after the part on bones, i did a few studies and in just 2 hours i went from understanding absolutely nothing on the human skeleton to being able to roughly sketch a decent one (though i need much more practice). Thank you so much for this video.
This material is gold! I can't wait to start with the anatomy lessons on Art School (still working on figure/gesture drawing and perspective on the first Terms). Thank you very much for all the effort you put on everything
My heart just warmed wen the video concluded, weird but actually happens to me all the time wen I've found sth ive been looking for,I don know why I been postponing this video but I'm so GLAD I've watched it.Thank you good sir
I'm glad that this video exists and I've actually been practicing. Yet, I still find it difficult to draw the torso as a cylinder from different angles. Often times this is a struggle with reference too which to me right now still feels rather daunting.
It took me two years, studying everyday, for twelve hours a to learn to draw on paper the anatomical figure of the human body from memory w just a center line without reference. Very very difficult but worth it.
This is the content i am looking for on youtube. Informative, reliable, satisfying and still easy to apply. Great video... I messed up at legs. But despite my premature drawing skills, my sketch looked better than anything i've ever drawn so far.
i have been struggling with my torso structure and finally decided to watch this one! (i didn't want to bc it's 30 mins long but i got my notes ready 😅
@@margiecaina Take what you need from this channel but honestly Ethan's work and advices are more accurate and useful. I don't trust someone's work on anatomy when their proportions aren't even right...

Very nice Marc, character art is my main focus so hope this continues as a series. Been out of the game for a while so I'm eager to jump back in drawing and painting.
Probably you know it already... but I really enjoy watching your videos and learn from them. You explain everything so easily and I love that. Instead of studying for my next exams in schools I spent my time watching your videos because I know that this is not a waste of time. I start writing down some notes after watching your videos several times. It is better listening to your stuff than just practicing drawing. Thank you :) keep uploading videos!
Wow, this is a very well thought out anatomy video! I like how simple it is to follow despite the daunting almost half an hour. This lessens my apprehension on finally learning the whole human body instead of just bits and ends.
This is fascinating. I'm one of those artists who could always "see in 3D" for some reason, so I never learned to construct forms like this. I guess I was doing it, but subconsciously. When I started illustrating and concepting full scenes, I'd imagine the entire canvas filled with cubes going back into the distance. I know some digital artists actually use perspective grids like that. But I've always drawn very realistically, and now I'm trying to do simpler work so its cool to see videos like this that teach how to construct very simple figures
I already have a good anatomy knowledge, but I realised that has almost no effect on my drawing skills by itself, you HAVE to practice this way of seeing anatomy specifically, sure it's faster if you already have a background in this but still you have to convert your knowledge to actually art skills. It's fascinating.
