Loops don't need to be exact. As long as the sequence can resolve itself completely with a relative timeframe and no outside influence, it still works.

Plus, this all assumes he has no free will as questioned in the video - he may do in fact, meaning he could potentially choose to meet his past self if he had free will. While going through the loop, he could believe meeting an alternate-time self causes the loop to continue and start in the first place, or he could believe that meeting another self will break the loop - so either action (avoid self or meet self) could be viewed as advantageous to leaving the loop. So I guess you could say: You don't have to be that careful in the house. You will not run into yourself, because you already view such an event as negative and will invariably always choose not to.
Oddly, the choice to avoid encountering his past self is what caused the loop. That last room before the wormhole had 2 exits. The wormhole, and the door he came in by. He entered the wormhole because he knew his past self was about to enter through the door he entered from. My main question is, if he opened the door to the wormhole in order to step into it, how was the door closed for his past self, as we saw that he did not close it behind him.

Another dilemma: He can't show himself to his past self walking in the house, because if he did, it wouldn't make sense, cause the future hasn't happped yet to his past self. Or will he just see himself from the future?
Easy, just break all the windows and knock down all the doors, then when your past/future self sees all the destruction he will know something is wrong and leave the house ending the loop. PARADOX SOLVED
What you are saying would imply, that the past Jake, would see and know the actions of future Jake, this was ignored from the video, to be easier to understand the video, other than complicating it.

Try watching Steins;Gate. It's an anime about time travel but it's worth a try. The first 5 episodes are pretty slow and boring but necessary to understand the characters and plot. Trust me, you'll get through them quickly.

yeah, i think this paradox is rather easy to break, as common sense would probably dictate that no matter what the situation, you don't go inside a wormhole contained just beyond a door. I mean, unless some heavenly body forced you to move, i don't think anyone would go inside a wormhole.

Well, if you know something happened and you want to find out if you are in a loop, all you have to do is try not to end up in tht situation again. If that is inevitable, you are in a time loop. This presupposes that you do not do anything you cannot know the result of (e.g. walking through a portal)
well the problem with the loop that he was talking about is since you never remember it any decision you make will be the same as before maybe the portal ENDS the loop. but you avoid it causing the loop to restart every time thinking the portal is the reason. whatever decisions you make are part of the loop and since each is a fresh restart even on the first iteration your going to think it may be your 100th so you try to do the opposite of what youd think you did before but even the first time thats what you did. as for knowing the future this is why in those kinds of loops running into your future self ends the universe. its fine to see your past (even he did at one point) as knowing your past has no effect but the instant you see the future you can be all i wont do that then. and poof future self never existed and you get weird paradoxes
I'm not sure if I understood you comment... Whatever It is important that you remember the beginning of the iteration you're in, so all you have to do is avoiding ending up there again. You don't have to remember anything from the previous iterations. An example: you wake up in your bed, not remembering anything that happened before you went to bed. That would hint that you are in a loop. Now, just try not to go to bed or end up there, because it seems like that is the cause of the loop. Of course this does not work if the loop is not influenced by your decisions and will restart whatsoever, like an automatic time machine (the loop in the video seems to be restarted by jumping through the portal)
Something else: what happens if you write down everything that happens during one iteration? In the video these things seem to persist. For example: before jumping through that portal, write down a note that you should NOT, under any circumstances, jump through that portal. If it is a loop, in the next iteration you see that note and you do not jump through it, so the loop ends.

Does casual loop mean that when you go back in time, and affect your past self, your present self will suddenly remember what you just did in the perspective of your past self? Say, for example, if you went back in time and told someone to punch your past self, then you would remember that punch happening in your memories. Is this what casual loop is?
No. Example of a causal loop: Situation 1 causes situation 2. Situation 2 causes situation 3. Situation 3 causes situation 1. or it could also be: Situation 1 causes situation 1.
if you did what you stated, you'd create a paradox within the causal loop, worsening the situation in which you'll have multiple versions of yourself trying to escape the loop, and you're essentially cloning yourself, which is against physics...
Something closer to a causal loop might be going back and facilitating your own birth. Either via a Back to the Future scenario, or if you're up for something a little Oedipal, going back and becoming your own father. Of course, the second scenario would require you to have never met your birth father, but in either instance the primary event which causes all sibsequent events in the sequence would never happen without those other events already having happened. You would have to be born and grow up (event 1) in order to travel back in time to facilitate your birth (event 2), however, you would also need to travel back in time and facilitate your birth in order to be born and grow up. Event 1 leads to event 2 which in turn leads to event 1. It's a sequence that cannot begin unless it's already begun... And on an unrelated note, that second scenario would also be a one way ticket to infinite inbreeding, so beware!

But, as he said in the video. If he got up and interrupted his former else, that would break the cycle, but he never did do that, so the loop will continue. None of them will ever interrupt the loop, because the only way to break it, would involve meeting your former self, and that could just destroy the universe. So the Jake's will continue the time loop, so that the entire universe isn't destroyed. There may be slight changes in the loop, but they can't break the loop. Basically, all of the jakes that wander though it, are the same Jake. It's not possible for him to break it, since, if he's in the loop, he never broke it, and he never will. Unless someone from outside the loop interrupts it.
Who says he wrote this out of loop? Maybe, everytime he wakes up, he loses his memories, but his body stays current? After all, he tries to update the message for future loops.
How are there simultaneous past versions of Jake walking around the house? 1)I think it's because every time he sees or hears himself, it is the self from the future(the next loop) that he hears and not from the past... Even at the beginning when he's sitting outside you can see him on the balcony looking down, but by the time he gets upstairs he's looking at his future self again...that's my guess at least.. 2) On the arm thing though...He started adding "it's" on his arm, but he made a mistake so he went to the bathroom and washed off the "it's" part that he messed up, but forgot to write it again and just went on...
There should only be two of him there at any given time. The "first" one would be the one who just went through the wormhole and woke up outside, and the "second" one would be the one gradually making his way to the wormhole. For there to be three of him, there would need to be another time manipulating factor.
Ok, I thought about it more. He goes through the wormhole which should place him at the same moment in time everytime he goes through but instead this wormhole is spitting him out at least 2 more times after that. So he enters the wormhole once but the wormhole spits that exact copy of him out at 3 different times in the same location. If it continues to spit Jake out at regular intervals forever is unknown. If Jake really did split in the portal then in that period of time during the loop there should be an infinite amount of Jakes. Then after the last Jake goes through the portal Jake would cease to exist forever. If Jake actually was spat out at regular intervals for all eternity then pretty soon his actions should be interfered with by external factors. Such as his footprints changing, the rocks vanishing to throw up at the window, the pen running out of ink. And eventually you'd have a Jake that doesn't go through the portal at the end. So, let's say they started watching when Jake was on the ground. There's a Jake on the ground and a Jake in the house. The Jake goes through the portal, and goes's back in time. The observer doesn't go back in time too, so the Jake inside the house just disappears to him. Then, the Jake that was outside goes in the house and goes through the portal. Now that Jake has disappeared too. To the observer, there are no more Jakes. Jake is no longer part of the timeline, and is stuck in the past. Interesting thought that just came to me.

There is a paradox in this loop. He never shows how LOOP was written. He never rights it while he was explaining all he was doing was writing it is but he messed up. So where did LOOP come from?

There is a simple solution. The LOOP on his arm was simply written before the loop started. Meaning he was aware that it was about to happen.

Try watching Steins;Gate. It's an anime about time travel but it's worth a try. The first 5 episodes are pretty slow and boring but necessary to understand the characters and plot. Trust me, you'll get through them quickly.

Within the loop there is no choice its a written out story without influence with you. Since whatever you do will be seen as your choice on the timeline before it resets. This the massive dilema.

yeah, i think this paradox is rather easy to break, as common sense would probably dictate that no matter what the situation, you don't go inside a wormhole contained just beyond a door. I mean, unless some heavenly body forced you to move, i don't think anyone would go inside a wormhole.

Well, if you know something happened and you want to find out if you are in a loop, all you have to do is try not to end up in tht situation again. If that is inevitable, you are in a time loop.
This presupposes that you do not do anything you cannot know the result of (e.g. walking through a portal)
well the problem with the loop that he was talking about is since you never remember it any decision you make will be the same as before maybe the portal ENDS the loop. but you avoid it causing the loop to restart every time thinking the portal is the reason. whatever decisions you make are part of the loop and since each is a fresh restart even on the first iteration your going to think it may be your 100th so you try to do the opposite of what youd think you did before but even the first time thats what you did.
as for knowing the future this is why in those kinds of loops running into your future self ends the universe. its fine to see your past (even he did at one point) as knowing your past has no effect but the instant you see the future you can be all i wont do that then. and poof future self never existed and you get weird paradoxes

It is important that you remember the beginning of the iteration you're in, so all you have to do is avoiding ending up there again. You don't have to remember anything from the previous iterations.
An example: you wake up in your bed, not remembering anything that happened before you went to bed. That would hint that you are in a loop. Now, just try not to go to bed or end up there, because it seems like that is the cause of the loop.
Of course this does not work if the loop is not influenced by your decisions and will restart whatsoever, like an automatic time machine (the loop in the video seems to be restarted by jumping through the portal)
Something else: what happens if you write down everything that happens during one iteration? In the video these things seem to persist.
For example: before jumping through that portal, write down a note that you should NOT, under any circumstances, jump through that portal. If it is a loop, in the next iteration you see that note and you do not jump through it, so the loop ends.

Does casual loop mean that when you go back in time, and affect your past self, your present self will suddenly remember what you just did in the perspective of your past self? Say, for example, if you went back in time and told someone to punch your past self, then you would remember that punch happening in your memories. Is this what casual loop is?

if you did what you stated, you'd create a paradox within the causal loop, worsening the situation in which you'll have multiple versions of yourself trying to escape the loop, and you're essentially cloning yourself, which is against physics...
Something closer to a causal loop might be going back and facilitating your own birth. Either via a Back to the Future scenario, or if you're up for something a little Oedipal, going back and becoming your own father. Of course, the second scenario would require you to have never met your birth father, but in either instance the primary event which causes all sibsequent events in the sequence would never happen without those other events already having happened. You would have to be born and grow up (event 1) in order to travel back in time to facilitate your birth (event 2), however, you would also need to travel back in time and facilitate your birth in order to be born and grow up. Event 1 leads to event 2 which in turn leads to event 1. It's a sequence that cannot begin unless it's already begun...
And on an unrelated note, that second scenario would also be a one way ticket to infinite inbreeding, so beware!

But, as he said in the video. If he got up and interrupted his former else, that would break the cycle, but he never did do that, so the loop will continue. None of them will ever interrupt the loop, because the only way to break it, would involve meeting your former self, and that could just destroy the universe. So the Jake's will continue the time loop, so that the entire universe isn't destroyed. There may be slight changes in the loop, but they can't break the loop. Basically, all of the jakes that wander though it, are the same Jake. It's not possible for him to break it, since, if he's in the loop, he never broke it, and he never will. Unless someone from outside the loop interrupts it.

1)I think it's because every time he sees or hears himself, it is the self from the future(the next loop) that he hears and not from the past...
Even at the beginning when he's sitting outside you can see him on the balcony looking down, but by the time he gets upstairs he's looking at his future self again...that's my guess at least..
2) On the arm thing though...He started adding "it's" on his arm, but he made a mistake so he went to the bathroom and washed off the "it's" part that he messed up, but forgot to write it again and just went on...
There should only be two of him there at any given time. The "first" one would be the one who just went through the wormhole and woke up outside, and the "second" one would be the one gradually making his way to the wormhole. For there to be three of him, there would need to be another time manipulating factor.
Ok, I thought about it more.
He goes through the wormhole which should place him at the same moment in time everytime he goes through but instead this wormhole is spitting him out at least 2 more times after that. So he enters the wormhole once but the wormhole spits that exact copy of him out at 3 different times in the same location.
If it continues to spit Jake out at regular intervals forever is unknown. If Jake really did split in the portal then in that period of time during the loop there should be an infinite amount of Jakes. Then after the last Jake goes through the portal Jake would cease to exist forever.
If Jake actually was spat out at regular intervals for all eternity then pretty soon his actions should be interfered with by external factors. Such as his footprints changing, the rocks vanishing to throw up at the window, the pen running out of ink. And eventually you'd have a Jake that doesn't go through the portal at the end. Which would result in a Jake existing. The portal might not stop pouring out Jakes every few minutes though xD

So, let's say they started watching when Jake was on the ground. There's a Jake on the ground and a Jake in the house. The Jake goes through the portal, and goes's back in time. The observer doesn't go back in time too, so the Jake inside the house just disappears to him. Then, the Jake that was outside goes in the house and goes through the portal. Now that Jake has disappeared too. To the observer, there are no more Jakes. Jake is no longer part of the timeline, and is stuck in the past. Interesting thought that just came to me.
