it got me thinking the fact he turns off the radio and denying any attempt of rescue is actually a sign that he isn't the parasite/(the thing) since the parasite would want to spread to as many people as possible and would want to be "rescued" so it can infect others lol

KamboKelvin If he were to be infected, he wouldn’t have turned down the rescue because the parasite would want to infect more hosts. He turned down the rescue because he wouldn’t want to expose the rest of people to the parasite and he doubted that he was himself. Although by being able to turn it down it means he probably isn’t infected

It doesn't, really. It takes a detour. The topic is the same, just a different approach. Instead of a biological one, a philosophical one.
All Vsauce videos seem to go off the rails and that's a conscious choice. Michael has said that it keeps people's attentions, because you go from one topic to another quickly. After all, if Michael or Jake answered a single question during the video, it would be 3 minutes long.

I think the point was to imply that he was infected and that the parasite made the decision not to get rescued.
