Really well put together video. Great house and camera quality. Also very good content. Thought you handled the subject very well. You didn't put people down for believing I ghosts but also made it clear there is no evidence for their existence and they don't make logical sense.
A couple weeks ago I was renovating a house with my dad, while we were re-painting the basement, our conversation was interrupted by a series of footsteps making their way through the house, my dad told me this was the second time he heard them. A couple days later, I was fetching some tools from the upstairs bathroom. As I grabbed what I needed, I stood up too fast and fell over from head rush, as I sometimes do. I, being my lazy self, proceeded to lie on the ground for nearly a minute, before suddenly, I felt a sudden puff of cold air on my cheek and a voice in my right ear. I didn't understand what it said because I wasn't paying attention (it may have been in french, because I live in Quebec) I then proceeded to leap from the floor yelling "No thanks, I don't want any!" before making my way to the garage to tell my father what happened. This is far from my first 'paranormal' experience, and it is likely that it won't be my last. It upsets me that many people simply dismiss "ghosts" as unexistant, because I have symptoms of PTSD that stem from my experiences. I don't know WHAT we as humans describe as ghosts, are. But I do know that there are forces, beyond our comprehension and scientific data, in this world. Maybe it's simply residual energy leftover from a previous beings conscience or intelligence, maybe our ancestors legends are true, but whatever the case, we DO know that we DON'T know, and what we don't know, is what is left to be discovered, not what isn't real. Most toddlers don't know other countries exist, but that doesn't mean that other countries aren't real now does it?
Oooooor simply your brain playing tricks on you. Heres the thing, when i was younger i was religious and was fascinated by ghost stories and paranormal, my friend and i would spend our free time researching and watching shows on the paranormal, we thought we experienced a number of paranormal events and were ensured that it was real. One included waking up in the middle of the night to my dogs barking and then feeling the sheets getting pulled off me in bed, when i awoke and told my dad the next morning he confirmed he has been up most of the night studying and the dogs never barked. As i grew up and stopped my fascination and research, the "experiences" became fewer and fewer until there were none. I have tried walking across a cemetery at night since i live in the corner of one, and playing ouija etc. Nothing works, its just the silence and my thoughts and the air. Once you accept the fact that there is no "higher power" out there pulling strings you feel a liberation and all these "experiences" that you thought meant paranormal, become simple tricks of the mind. We see, what we want to see. Confirmation bias. The problem with your children analogy is that as you grow older you realize the countries are there, you can see them, and visit them, but its the opposite with ghosts. Children have imaginary friends that they solely believe are there, yet we know they aren't.

You will all believe eachother, etc. I've heard my name be called before, while laying down, but I know this is simply me being really tired about to pass out and having my brain wake me up. Hearing things, seeing things, this is simply your brain attempting to make sense of something it doesn't understand, you "saw a shadow", as oppose to saying it was a car going by creating a shadow, or a person, or you just seeing something, you believe it was a "ghost". If you see actual people and hear actual people though, you'll have to see a doctor. Lot of people have mild forms of mental illnesses that cause them to literally see a ghost, or hear a ghost. They go diagnosed and live their life believing they're actual ghosts. But I can't convince you, science has shown that convincing someone that their belief is not true, they become defensive and fight back - because no one wants to be wrong, and when you desperately believe in something, its hard to accept when you're wrong. Same applies to me bud. So hey, life is more entertaining believing in ghosties, so have at her! so as long as you're not hurting anyone lol

Really well put together video. Great house and camera quality. Also very good content. Thought you handled the subject very well. You didn't put people down for believing I ghosts but also made it clear there is no evidence for their existence and they don't make logical sense.
A couple weeks ago I was renovating a house with my dad, while we were re-painting the basement, our conversation was interrupted by a series of footsteps making their way through the house, my dad told me this was the second time he heard them. A couple days later, I was fetching some tools from the upstairs bathroom. As I grabbed what I needed, I stood up too fast and fell over from head rush, as I sometimes do. I, being my lazy self, proceeded to lie on the ground for nearly a minute, before suddenly, I felt a sudden puff of cold air on my cheek and a voice in my right ear. I didn't understand what it said because I wasn't paying attention (it may have been in french, because I live in Quebec) I then proceeded to leap from the floor yelling "No thanks, I don't want any!" before making my way to the garage to tell my father what happened. This is far from my first 'paranormal' experience, and it is likely that it won't be my last. It upsets me that many people simply dismiss "ghosts" as unexistant, because I have symptoms of PTSD that stem from my experiences. I don't know WHAT we as humans describe as ghosts, are. But I do know that there are forces, beyond our comprehension and scientific data, in this world. Maybe it's simply residual energy leftover from a previous beings conscience or intelligence, maybe our ancestors legends are true, but whatever the case, we DO know that we DON'T know, and what we don't know, is what is left to be discovered, not what isn't real. Most toddlers don't know other countries exist, but that doesn't mean that other countries aren't real now does it?
Oooooor simply your brain playing tricks on you. Heres the thing, when i was younger i was religious and was fascinated by ghost stories and paranormal, my friend and i would spend our free time researching and watching shows on the paranormal, we thought we experienced a number of paranormal events and were ensured that it was real. One included waking up in the middle of the night to my dogs barking and then feeling the sheets getting pulled off me in bed, when i awoke and told my dad the next morning he confirmed he has been up most of the night studying and the dogs never barked. As i grew up and stopped my fascination and research, the "experiences" became fewer and fewer until there were none. I have tried walking across a cemetery at night since i live in the corner of one, and playing ouija etc. Nothing works, its just the silence and my thoughts and the air. Once you accept the fact that there is no "higher power" out there pulling strings you feel a liberation and all these "experiences" that you thought meant paranormal, become simple tricks of the mind. We see, what we want to see. Confirmation bias. The problem with your children analogy is that as you grow older you realize the countries are there, you can see them, and visit them, but its the opposite with ghosts. Children have imaginary friends that they solely believe are there, yet we know they aren't.
Irene Arlet I would agree with you if my experiences with the unexplained involved me alone, but when your family also sees the same shadows and the same voices, things change. Especially when things get violent. I got scars from being assaulted by thin air.

Hearing things, seeing things, this is simply your brain attempting to make sense of something it doesn't understand, you "saw a shadow", as oppose to saying it was a car going by creating a shadow, or a person, or you just seeing something, you believe it was a "ghost".
If you see actual people and hear actual people though, you'll have to see a doctor. Lot of people have mild forms of mental illnesses that cause them to literally see a ghost, or hear a ghost. They go diagnosed and live their life believing they're actual ghosts.
But I can't convince you, science has shown that convincing someone that their belief is not true, they become defensive and fight back - because no one wants to be wrong, and when you desperately believe in something, its hard to accept when you're wrong. Same applies to me bud.
So hey, life is more entertaining believing in ghosties, so have at her! so as long as you're not hurting anyone lol

As for the Theseus paradox, I would argue that as long as the informative content is unvaried, the medium it is stored on does not make a difference. Much like a novel can be engraved or written in a hundred types of ink, on a hundred different surfaces, and yet remains the same novel irrespective of the medium. In our case, that content is our memories and our genetic code.
